One punch after another, the frequency of his strikes created a blur around Yan Jiang’s shoulder. Black-yellow fluid splattered everywhere from "Su Xiujun," coating the ground. His movents didn’t stop—each punch faster than the last!
"Urgh! Urgh! Argh! Co on! Stand up!"
Low growls escaped from Yan Jiang’s mouth periodically; after hearing them for long, it beca impossible to tell whether he was furious or exhilarated. One thing was certain—he was completely unhinged!
The group was astonished. Although they had heard of Yan Jiang’s insane battle frenzy before, hearing was one thing; seeing was another. In fact, calling him "mad" at this mont felt like a gross understatent. Still, the more unhinged Yan Jiang beca, the more reassurance he provided to those around him.
But just as the group let down their guard, disaster struck—a tentacle suddenly wrapped around Yan Jiang’s leg. Before his next punch could land, his whole body was yanked into the air, flung skyward, and another tentacle followed with a deafening "CRACK," slashing heavily across his body!
Blood exploded out. By the ti Yan Jiang hit the ground and struggled back to his feet, the group saw his chest had beco a blurred mass of gore. Just as their eased nerves were calming, their hearts climbed back into their throats!
"Quick! Quickly!"
The captain panicked, his mind a blur, unable to decide what to do. From the distance, "Su Xiujun" raised a set of limbs, hauling its body upright. In the very next second, it transford into a lightning bolt aiming straight for Yan Jiang. The tentacle that had just struck him earlier had scraped away a swathe of flesh and sent needles of agony drilling into his body. Sweat beaded up on his forehead as "Su Xiujun" charged at him. Yan Jiang pushed himself up again, but before he could make another move, his neck was seized by the rough grip of its monstrous hand!
Haa~
"Su Xiujun’s" face was close, its mouth opening wide, revealing everything within. Yan Jiang saw every hideous detail: jagged teeth, uneven fleshy walls, and a reptilian tongue-like appendage inside.
With a deep, chilling zombie growl, "Su Xiujun’s" mouth latched rcilessly onto Yan Jiang’s neck. Then, with a violent jerk, it ripped a large chunk of flesh from him!
"Uhh..."
Even soone as resilient as Yan Jiang couldn’t suppress a muffled groan from the unbearable pain. His eyes darted toward Brother Shi and the others nearby, a chill spreading through his soul. He suddenly realized how dire his predicant was—any slip-up could send him tumbling into oblivion—and there was absolutely no help coming from them!
Perhaps Yan Jiang’s look prompted the group to snap out of their daze. The captain of Team Seven finally realized what needed to be done. He shouted to the other soldiers urgently, "Quick! Get to headquarters and find the city lord!"
The other soldiers quickly understood the gravity of the situation and didn’t hesitate, with two imdiately sprinting back the way they ca. anwhile, the remaining soldiers fixed their gaze on the unfolding chaos.
The slab of flesh torn from Yan Jiang—a piece from a Level 7 New Human—was shoved into "Su Xiujun’s" maw. It didn’t stop to chew; with a single upward motion, it swallowed the chunk whole. As the grueso display unfolded, Yan Jiang’s rage boiled over—ignoring the imnse pain, he clenched his fist and drove it straight into "Su Xiujun’s" mouth!
BAM!
Saliva sprayed, splattering all over Yan Jiang’s face. The force of the blow caused "Su Xiujun’s" back neck to bulge grotesquely. This ti, Yan Jiang caught sight of teeth shattered and scattered in its mouth, a satisfied grin curling across his face. But that satisfaction didn’t last—it froze mid-smile!
Yan Jiang lowered his gaze to his abdon, where a tentacle had impaled him. Blood gushed freely.
He raised his head again, eting "Su Xiujun’s" grueso smile.
"Did you really think this would take down?"
Yan Jiang’s face twisted into sothing savage. It seed as though he had disconnected himself from the pain, severing all sensation. With a sudden explosive motion, he swung his arm down onto his shoulder. All of the strength of a Level 7 New Human burst forth, driving "Su Xiujun’s" lower body halfway into the soil!
"Haa!"
As Yan Jiang bellowed, he leapt over half a ter into the air, slamming his knee into "Su Xiujun’s" head. With a resounding "BOOM," its skull detonated, spraying chunks of flesh everywhere!
"Hah~"
Yan Jiang staggered a few steps after landing but breathed a small sigh of relief. Before him stood "Su Xiujun’s" headless corpse. He smirked disdainfully, ready to pull out the tentacle still lodged in his abdon—when suddenly, "Su Xiujun" sprang back to life!
Its Evolution Crystal wasn’t located in its head!
A single thought flashed through Yan Jiang’s mind in that instant before barbed tentacles coiled tightly around his neck. The headless zombie braced its hands against the ground and extracted its subrged body out.
Uhh... Haa haa haa~
The chilling laughs—who knows where they emanated from on its dismbered form—reeked of mocking disdain. The tentacles contracted, and Yan Jiang’s complexion darkened, turning blotchy purple!
Elsewhere, Yong frowned montarily, his gaze darting from the soldier stationed at the weapon terminal back to Yan Jiang. Resolutely, he made up his mind. He leapt down from his perch and approached the annihilation cannon. Without hesitation, he grabbed the soldier operating the controls and tossed him aside, stunning the surrounding onlookers.
"What are you doing?!"
The captain yelled, his voice tinged with shock and fury. Yet before his words fully landed, Yong had already hurled the operator clear of the cannon’s console. He scrutinized the dashboard before gripping the control stick with both hands. A quick twist redirected the hulking barrel, so large it could easily fit a roll of paper towel inside.
"Pull that bastard down for now!"
The captain pointed toward Yong, barking commands to the soldiers to act imdiately. But Brother Shi and Ghost Head, recognizing Yong’s intent, realized sothing. Their eyes lit up, and before the soldiers could make a move, the duo stepped forward to block their path.
"Wait! Trust him!"
"Trust him? Who’s taking responsibility if we screw this up?"
"I... I’ll take responsibility!"
Brother Shi hesitated briefly before answering, but ultimately, he and Ghost Head spoke in unison: "I’ll take responsibility." Their eyes t—they seed to have found a subtle rhythm of understanding between them.
No ti was wasted as the captain hesitated to respond. anwhile, "Su Xiujun," with its tentacles still clutching Yan Jiang, began sprinting forward. Its movent created blurry afterimages before transforming into a streak of light! At the sa ti, Yong aid the cannon’s muzzle, tracking the rapidly moving target.
"Get the hell down! If you jeopardize Yan Jiang, I *swear* you’re dead!"
The captain roared toward Yong seated at the console. But Yong didn’t respond. With growing desperation, the captain began scaling the cannon to pull him down manually. Just as his hand reached the annihilation cannon’s surface, Yong’s foot stomped hard against the fire pedal. Instantly, the scene was swallowed whole. Everything in sight disappeared beneath an imnse blanket of blue-white, an endless radiant light!
The entire world was consud—only this monuntal flash remained, along with the searing heat pouring forth!
