In the Royal Court Urban Area, the colossal Sacred Summit isn’t even the full size of the Mother Nest; it’s rely the portion of its body exposed above ground. Beneath the surface, at least three-quarters of its massive form remains hidden!
If this weren’t the case, the so-called Sacred Summit wouldn’t be able to host an entire city—the weight of all this infrastructure depends entirely on the Mother Nest’s enormous body as its foundation.
Given the scale of its body, the Mother Nest rarely moves. Movent itself causes the earth to shake and mountains to tremble, and it isn’t exactly quick either. Back when it relocated from the United District to the Royal Court, it took nearly a full week, just barely faster than so cars.
Of course, these are the Mother Nest’s weaknesses, making it unsuitable as a combat force. However, when it cos to the sheer magnitude of its power—it’s extraordinary. Tang Ye can confidently assert that, with just one full-strength strike, the Mother Nest could easily leave even a Level 9 Zombie King clinging to life by a thread. Given its sheer size, there’s no doubt its strength is overwhelmingly heavy—so heavy, in fact, that it surpasses Tang Ye at full power!
Tang Ye had previously considered using the Mother Nest to ambush opposing Zombie Kings in future conflicts. A single successful strike could completely tip the scales of victory in his favor. But due to its imnse proportions, the Mother Nest’s movents are nearly impossible to conceal.
Thus, if the Mother Nest’s earlier strike hadn’t been slightly restrained, the best-case scenario for Lu Xiaojie would’ve been her entire body reduced to pulp. In the worst-case scenario, she might’ve instantly evaporated into a cloud of blood mist!
The Mother Nest’s attack was too much for even pain-immune Lu Xiaojie. She lay sprawled on the ground, motionless for a long ti. It wasn’t until Tang Ye spoke that she managed to prop herself up on her hands. Stretching one hand forward, her intentions were clear—just like before, she wanted Tang Ye to return the crystalline eyeball to her.
"Answer my questions first, okay?"
Tang Ye said calmly, his tone no different from earlier.
The difference now was that Lu Xiaojie seed to have recognized the vast disparity between herself and Tang Ye—a realization akin to the difference between heaven and earth. This understanding appeared to have persuaded her to compromise.
Soon, she stood up, twisting her limbs as if trying to ease her physical pain. Her mouth emitted guttural, raspy noises—like phlegm stuck in her throat. After a while, she finally spoke, her voice hoarse and grating, as though it resulted from the friction of rough surfaces.
"What... do you want... to ask? Just now... I didn’t hear... clearly... say it... again, can you?"
"Of course." Tang Ye nodded; with another Lu Xiaojie present, he wouldn’t dare harm her.
"So... shall we begin?"
"Where did you co from? I hope you rember. Also, how vivid are your mories of the place where you ca from? What was it like?"
When Tang Ye posed the questions, Lu Xiaojie began to mull them over—or perhaps she was reliving mories. Regardless, she seed anxious, trembling as if struggling to retrieve fragnts from a fragnted mind.
She stayed in this state for quite a while before Tang Ye finally heard her answer: "Blurred... I see... red... so much red, shaking... cold... fear... false warmth... and... and..."
"And what else?"
"A person..."
"A person?" Tang Ye’s eyes lit up, his thoughts imdiately jumping to Dairya.
"Who is it? What’s their na?"
"... He... his na is Li Hu..."
"Li Hu?"
This na was unfamiliar to Tang Ye, but then he suddenly rembered. Before he first encountered this Lu Xiaojie, there had been a man who looked after her—a man with a na containing the word Hu. But the typical Chinese na left Tang Ye feeling slightly disappointed.
"What happened to him?"
"I don’t know."
Her vague four-word response left Tang Ye unimpressed. Lu Xiaojie then turned her gaze toward him, seemingly waiting for his next question.
"Fine then. Do you know Dairya? A child about this tall."
Tang Ye gestured with his hand to indicate Dairya’s approximate height. Lu Xiaojie fell into contemplation again, trying to recall anything related to Dairya. Soon, she found sothing—but what she spoke were only brief words.
"The lost avenger..."
"Hmm? The lost avenger? Are you referring to Dairya? What’s your relationship with her?" Tang Ye probed further, and Lu Xiaojie quickly replied, "Sa birth... we are one person. I am her, but different... sa birth, sa birth..."
"Sa birth... dual existence..." Tang Ye silently reflected. A critical thought surfaced quickly: Dairya and Lu Xiaojie’s shared connection, this dual existence—Dairya was Lu Xiaojie, and Lu Xiaojie was Dairya. But the problem was, there were two Lu Xiaojies!
One existed within the Dairya World, and the other stood right before him. Which one was Dairya’s true twin form? The Lu Xiaojie before him and the one in the Dairya World looked identical, but personality-wise, they were completely different!
"Given this type of bond, do you realize there’s another you? As I ntioned earlier, she looks exactly like you and even shares your na. What’s your relationship with her? Are you also the sa person? If so, then what exactly is Dairya?"
Lu Xiaojie briefly appeared bewildered before suddenly pointing at the eyeball in Tang Ye’s hand. Her ragged voice answered, but her speech was clumsy and disjointed, filled with stutters. Though Tang Ye could barely make out her words, their aning was elusive.
"... A fragnt... part of ... the other part chose to leave. She... chose... to remain in her mories... unable to let go... trying to save... the who betrayed."
"What are you trying to say?" Lu Xiaojie’s response left Tang Ye completely perplexed. Honestly, he didn’t feel like delving further. With her current ntal state, even repeating her words could keep Tang Ye guessing for ages.
Just as he was about to press onward, Lu Xiaojie suddenly roared furiously at him!
"Give it to already! Ughhh!"
Her facial expression twisted into sothing ferocious—unmistakably unstable. It was clear that she had been trying hard to suppress her impulses earlier, but Tang Ye’s unwillingness to hand over what she wanted unleashed her rage completely.
Tang Ye’s brow furrowed tightly. He realized his timing wasn’t ideal. If he pushed further, he couldn’t be certain she’d give him coherent answers—not to ntion the risk of escalating tensions.
He glanced at the crystalline eyeball in his hand, then at Lu Xiaojie. Suddenly, Tang Ye sneered coldly. Why shouldn’t he give it to her? He wanted to see exactly what she planned to do with it. Here, everything was under his command. If he ever had more questions, he could simply take it back when the ti ca.
