The children who had just perpetrated school bullying turned pale the instant they heard these sounds, and they ran even more frantically toward the exit of the alley, but before they could get out, several adults surrounded them. They imdiately retreated, only to see more adults leaping out from several other alleys, looking at them with malice!

For a mont, all the exits from the alley were blocked by the adults, and the atmosphere here turned bizarre, filled with incomprehensible panic, as well as suppression!

Tang Ye, holding a child who wanted to escape, looked at the other few teenagers. People erging in the alley approached them step by step, and the four children, including the one in Tang Ye’s hands, already had tears in their eyes. Their faces were overtaken by fear that they couldn’t conceal. They were well aware of the consequences of being caught after a school bullying incident – the last rule on the Code of Conduct offered no other choice: there were only two options, one was to give up their lives to give these children a chance, the other was to kill those perpetrators!

But how many people are truly that compassionate? In the ti before the Apocalypse, such people were called saints, or, more to the extre, were even called "stupid"!

This term "saint" isn’t a complint; if soone really behaved that way, their brain must be full of holes.

The series of reactions triggered by the school bullying incident seed to be more severe than Tang Ye had imagined. More and more people squeezed into the alley, so of whom knew the situation and others who did not. They had simply co because they saw a crowd gathering. However, after learning what had happened, their expression beca unsightly.

Tang Ye heard the discussions and curses continuously coming from the crowd. Most people were already becoming restless, their faces anxious. Those who were unaware thought these people were psychopaths, but Tang Ye could tell that they were more like people driven to despair, finding themselves in a genuine incident, which was bad luck for them.

"Ma De! Really damned unlucky to stumble upon such a scene!"

"Whose kids are these? Tired of living, are they?"

"Kill them quickly! Otherwise, none of us here will live past three days!"

"Do it!"

"Let their parents co to collect their bodies, not doing any honest work, but bullying at school instead."

"Kill them!"

The air grew more oppressive; the children could already feel the intent to kill emanating from the crowd. They had no doubt that these adults were serious about killing them! Otherwise, they would die for violating the Code of Conduct!

The few teenagers in school uniforms looked at each other, with fear peaking on their faces. They stood there, not daring to move, clueless, with the weapons they had previously held now nowhere to be seen.

This state of affairs did not last long before several burly n forced their way through the crowd and charged without a second word!

Ah!

A few teenagers scread miserably; two of them were picked up and, without the slightest hesitation, the burly man smashed them hard onto the ground!

The scene that followed turned bloody. People ignored Tang Ye and the child in his hands, swarming forward en masse, engulfing the silhouettes of the children in an instant!

In Tang Ye’s eyes, the fists of the people, as well as the weapons in their hands, rose and fell, every strike delivered with enough force to kill!

The agonized screams of the teenagers grew increasingly piercing, like wretched ghosts tornted in hell! But gradually, their voices beca low, feeble, and weak, and in the end, their screams ceased to sound, yet the actions of the people continued.

Tang Ye, holding the dazed teenager in his hand, stood still, seemingly lost in a daze, silent for a long ti as he witnessed the scene before him.

At that mont, speaking for himself, Tang Ye felt completely out of tune with the world, able to see them, but invisible to them.

A strange feeling surfaced, unclear to him why; this scene and its absurdity induced a sense of unease. He did not know where this unease ca from, but he was sure it had to do with what lay before his eyes.

He saw blood flowing out from under people’s feet, and the unease grew stronger. Everything he saw felt too unreal! Wondering why he felt so disturbed, he recalled the nausea and revulsion that troubled him for half a month before the Apocalypse, after seeing a bloody video—how shocking it was to realize everything he saw had truly happened. The uneasy sensation would return and intensify at night, in the quiet of solitude.

But now, he was a zombie; such feelings shouldn’t arise in his heart. Why is that?

In the Apocalypse, he had witnessed scenes a hundred, a thousand tis more bloody, yet felt nothing. But here, he seed to regain the sensation of being a normal person. Yet, he vehently rejected this feeling, out of place and absurd when it surfaced, always leaving one feeling ridiculous.

The people’s frenzied performance continued, and soon, soone stepped out of the crowd. The once-clean clothes were now stained with blood and small pieces of flesh upon their exit.

As the first person retreated, more and more people squeezed out of the crowd, and without exception, every one of them bore bloodstains on their clothes, their behavior transforming this harmonious human society into a hell on earth.

Finally, with the cry of a young boy, Tang Ye snapped back to reality. He looked at the teenager he was holding up, who now wore a helpless expression, devoid of the arrogance he displayed while hitting others. Those eyes were filled with longing and fear, and Tang Ye knew what he probably desired most now was to return to school and study properly.

However, this seed impossible. Observing those who had left, Tang Ye noticed a common trait: their clothing was all stained with blood. This indicated that their way of dealing with school bullying was to cause harm to a certain extent to comply with the rules of conduct.

At this mont, a few more people squeezed out of the crowd, wiping the blood from their clothes. One of them ca up to Tang Ye, kindly warning: "Brother, don’t hesitate. If you don’t act today, you’ll suffer later. If he doesn’t die, it’s you who will! Weigh for yourself what’s more important, your life or this beast’s. There’s no need for to remind you, just hurry up and slaughter him."

Having said that, the person didn’t wait for Tang Ye’s response and walked away. anwhile, the teenager whose collar was gripped by Tang Ye, upon noticing Tang Ye’s gaze turned toward him, swiftly averted his eyes, but his face now bore a glimr of hope!
