"Stop looking, let’s go in. If you stay here too long, you’ll be able to find this place every day and see such things anyti. Of course, that’s assuming you can survive here as long as I have."
Seeing that Tang Ye was still observing the walls, the woman couldn’t help but urge him again.
Tang Ye nodded, shifting his gaze away from the walls surrounding the recycling station. However, his brows were deeply furrowed. Being a zombie, his first thought upon seeing these breathing walls was that they were a zombie. But he didn’t sense the presence of any zombies nearby, and to his senses, the walls seed just ordinary walls and not any sort of zombie.
After saying this, the woman took the lead and walked forward. After a while, she looked back at Tang Ye and said: "Although this place isn’t real, you must treat it as the real world. Sotis, acting as you would in the real world can help you avoid a lot of troubles."
"Is this the aning of the nineteenth rule? But your way of putting it won’t be understood by many, would it? Those who don’t know would react to the nineteenth rule by doubting the reality of this place even more," Tang Ye said.
"There’s no way around it. Being too explicit would probably an newcors like you might not even get the chance to see it," the woman answered.
"I see."
"Help out."
"With what?"
"Squat down."
"Hm?"
"Carry on your back."
"What?"
"We need to climb over the wall. There are surveillance caras at the door. For you, jumping more than ten ters high shouldn’t be a problem, right?"
"..."
"Fine." Tang Ye nodded, squatting down. The woman behind him, holding a shovel, jumped onto his back.
"Let’s go!"
Following the woman’s command, Tang Ye leaped up, flipping over the high wall wrapped in an electric net, and jumped inside.
"Alright, put down. It’s much easier cooperating with a Level 9 zombie like you," the woman said.
"Feels like all the work is being done by your collaborators," Tang Ye comnted.
"Pretty much," the woman said matter-of-factly. Then she surveyed the surroundings and finally fixed on a spot, saying to Tang Ye: "Let’s go this way."
No matter how the scene changed, the layout inside the so-called recycling station seed to be the sa. The woman, familiar with the way, led Tang Ye around the areas captured by surveillance, taking a big detour to arrive at the entrance of the largest building.
"Don’t move around. I’ll take out that cara above," she said.
Tang Ye nodded, staying still, while the woman next to him gripped the shovel, turned around with a swift leap and with a flick of her hand, the next mont, there was a "snap" and the connection tube of the surveillance cara was split in two by her spade, falling into her hands which she then carefully placed on the ground.
"Co inside with , soone will be coming soon to check what’s going on," said the woman to Tang Ye, taking out a key from her embrace and inserting it into the lock in front of the door.
"How do you have the keys?"
"I co in almost every day. Is it strange to have a key? I’ve been here for not just a thousand years, but at least a hundred years. I rember every dip on this key clearly!" she said.
Tang Ye was speechless, which showed just how ordinary or simple it was for the woman to enter this place, just like eating and drinking every day.
After inserting the key into the lock, the woman turned her head and put her index finger to her lips, signaling to stay quiet.
Tang Ye didn’t speak, just nodded to indicate he understood her aning.
The woman also nodded, holding a shovel in one hand and the key in the other. Soon after, there was a click, the lock was opened, but the next second, voices of two people ca from inside the door, almost at the sa ti.
"Who’s there?"
Hearing the voices, the woman didn’t hesitate to grab the doorknob and push the door inward, instantly revealing two figures before Tang Ye!
"Your granny!"
With a low shout from the woman, she reached out and grabbed one of them by the hand and executed a shoulder throw! There was a loud "bang" as that person was slamd to the ground in a ss, while the other person just started to react but hadn’t yet made a move when she turned around and kicked toward his groin!
Crack!
It was as if Tang Ye could hear the sound of eggs cracking, his facial expression involuntarily contorted from the sight, damn it was painful to watch!
He saw the expression on the face of the man behind the door turn as if he’d eaten a big pile of shit, his facial features nearly twisted together, which testified to the imnse power behind the woman’s kick. Before he could even make a noise, the woman covered his mouth and smacked him hard on the neck with the handle of the shovel, instantly causing the man’s eyes to roll back as he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
The one still lying on the ground unable to get up was just about to try standing when, within two seconds of raising his head, the woman swung the shovel at his head!
Clang!
The crisp sound of impact reverberated, the man on the ground shook and likewise passed out, just like that, the two n in dark coats lay there.
The woman’s movents were as smooth as flowing water, done in one go, like a worker on an assembly line who had honed their craft for over a decade, creating a muscle mory that made their actions look so fluid.
"All clear, follow ."
The woman turned her head to Tang Ye and commanded, then led him deeper into the building.
"Not bad at all."
"Small matter, all that ti spent here wasn’t for nothing."
She replied with so pride to Tang Ye, then they arrived at the stair entrance. She pointed downward and said, "There’s no basent here, just floors below. Rember that, and don’t go upstairs if I’m not with you, not to the second or third floors or anything. Otherwise, you might end up going back in ti to yesterday."
"What’s upstairs?"
"Sothing Dairya doesn’t want you to see."
"What could it be?" At the woman’s words, far from making Tang Ye wary of the so-called things upstairs, he beca curious instead. Here, the deeper sothing was hidden, the more likely it was the key to getting out.
"I know what you’re thinking, but it’s useless to take it with you. It’s just a little toy, and you won’t be able to get out with it."
"Is that so?"
"Believe it or not." The woman couldn’t be bothered to explain any further and stepped onto the descending staircase in front of her.
Tang Ye observed his surroundings. The building’s exterior and interior appeared completely different. From the outside, it looked like just a large factory, but inside, it felt like an ancient castle. The decorations around were not modern tiles but bricks laid one by one, and there was even a faint musty sll in the air.
He followed the woman down the stairs, but there was no sign of the entrance to the next floor. Soon, he heard the woman remind him, "Watch out for these on the walls."
"Hmm?"
Tang Ye paused, then looked at the walls. That’s when he noticed that the walls were covered in a multitude of human-shaped graffiti. He hadn’t paid attention to them before, and hadn’t seen a single one, even though they were so conspicuous!
