Tang Ye had initially anticipated that the sky-full of red feathers charging towards him could at least turn him into a pile of mush, but he clearly felt that monts ago, soone had managed to subdue the power of the red feathers, stripping away more than ninety percent of their might. Likewise, he sensed the intentions of the other party, which couldn’t help but leave him puzzled.

Chen Bieli, from a distance, did not speak. She looked at Tang Ye with complicated eyes and finally heaved a sigh. At the sa ti, on the surface, the Cloud Gorge Base experienced an unprecedented earthquake. Starting from the northwest Xia C Total Area all the way to the border of Headquarters of Area E of China, most buildings collapsed, causing extrely severe economic losses. No one knew what had caused this sudden earthquake. All they saw in the distant horizon was a large flock of red-feathered birds clustering together, forming a thick red cloud!

"What’s going on?"

"Has the Apocalypse finally arrived? Let’s just die! If we all die, it will all be over!"

"I’m fed up!"

This massive earthquake claid countless lives, and many people finally broke down in this mont. Those who were fortunate enough to survive could no longer bear such tornt and actually committed suicide on the spot, a scene that made many onlookers’ faces turn gloomy. They stood in silence, unsure of what they were continuing for.

"Where did this earthquake co from? There has never been an earthquake like this before. What’s happening?"

"The seismic waves originated from more than a thousand ters underground, which doesn’t seem to be caused by plate movent."

"Where’s the consul?"

"People have been sent to look for him, but now his whereabouts are unknown, and he can’t be contacted."

"Can soone tell what’s gotten into those red-feathered birds?"

"Could the earthquake be related to those birds?"

"..."

The red-feathered birds continuously flying in from all directions not only rged into that huge mass of red clouds, obscuring the azure sky, but their shadow also enshrouded the land, instilling an extrely unsettling and oppressive feeling.

anwhile, deep underground in the research facility, the wings on Chen Bieli’s back began to retract inward. A great number of red feathers fell from her body like snowflakes, covering the ground with a layer of jewel-red in no ti. Before long, she looked just like an ordinary person, rely the gentle girl-next-door. However, those glowing blue eyes were exceptionally striking. She did not make another move; after withdrawing her wings, she headed in a certain direction—and that direction was, shockingly, the sa one Su Sigui was previously trying to reach.

Tang Ye was not foolish enough to pursue her; that would have been asking for trouble. However, the questions in his mind intensified.

He watched Chen Bieli’s retreating back, the color that represented her in his view diminishing. Just as she was about to turn a corner amidst the rubble and completely disappear from his sight, she suddenly looked back at him. That glance made Tang Ye’s heart skip a beat, followed by even greater confusion.

Her gaze always gave him a sense of déjà vu, yet he could not pinpoint any key elents or grasp any crucial points.

"What exactly are you trying to convey?" Chen Bieli’s last backward glance and that strange expression flashed through Tang Ye’s mind. However, he did not ponder for long and hurriedly made his way to where Su Sigui was, thankfully surrounded by a thick wall of flesh, leaving Su Sigui virtually unhard.

Tang Ye pushed away the huge chunks of rubble resting on the flesh wall and pulled Su Sigui out, heading towards the elevator shaft they had used to enter. This place had beco extrely fragile after the clash between Level 9 entities, with the entire ground now tilted and the ceiling cracked open, exposing rows of temperature controllers. Large amounts of dust fell like waterfalls, blocking their path ahead.

But these obstacles couldn’t stop him. It wasn’t long before Tang Ye brought Su Sigui to the elevator shaft, which had been completely exposed due to his fight with Chen Bieli. A whole row of walls had collapsed, resembling a peeled banana.

His perception extended upwards and he discovered that Li Man, Yan Xing, and others were clearing the rubble that had fallen and blocked a section of the elevator shaft due to the collapse above.

"Hey boss, you’re here. Is the fight over?" Li Man, sensing Tang Ye just below, couldn’t help but ask in confusion.

"Should be, right?" Ha Zhen said hesitantly.

Li Man glanced down and, due to the severe damage, couldn’t see the lights from the research facility below. He yelled to the bottom, "Boss, hold on a second!"

After shouting, he nodded to Yan Xing beside him. They entered through a small hole made by Yu Jianghui, and Li Man extended a tentacle to punch through the boulders blocking the elevator shaft. The huge boulder, losing its support, thundered down below.

Tang Ye’s neural waves resonated in his brain. Li Man didn’t imdiately retract his tentacle, signaling to the others with a nod towards Qiuyue and quickly began to climb upwards. anwhile, Li Man’s tentacle stretched downward, eventually reaching right in front of Tang Ye.

Tang Ye placed Su Sigui on the tentacle, and Li Man pulled him up. Before long, Tang Ye himself climbed up as well.

Different from their descent, as everyone followed the elevator shaft back to the surface, they distinctly felt the vertical angle of the shaft had changed. Once outside, the specin testing room they were in was already buried under ruins, and they crawled out to see a scene that resembled the apocalypse.

"Was there an earthquake here?"

"It must have been. Even I felt a bit of difficulty breathing from the aftershocks just now."

"What’s happening with those birds?"

The sky above was covered by a thick layer of red clouds, and all the people with Tang Ye, except for himself, were greatly puzzled. These red-feathered birds were clearly very abnormal.

The sight before him made Tang Ye question once again, what exactly did Chen Bieli an?

Those red-feathered birds definitely had a connection with Chen Bieli. In Pingnan Base before, red-feathered birds occasionally led him to certain places. He didn’t think much of it before, just a bit of interest, but now when he thought about it, there were questions everywhere.

Looking at the severely damaged specin testing room, Tang Ye felt an unreasonable surge of unwillingness in his heart. He still had many things to figure out, and yet he had to leave just like that.

Who was the previous owner of that research facility?

Was it related to Ning Yu’er at all?

And why was Chen Bieli there? And! How did she suddenly beco a Level 9 Rester, and the color of her eyes didn’t look like a Rester’s, right?

Not long after Tang Ye and his group had erged, the clusters of red-feathered birds in the sky seed to be affected by sothing and began to disperse. Soon, the originally thick red clouds thinned with the passage of ti. At the sa ti, soldiers from the two major forces of Cloud Gorge Base also sensed the connection between the anomaly here and what happened before, and a large number of soldiers headed this way.
