Zheng Minghui and Shen Mingke followed closely behind, and when they saw the scene in the hall, their faces turned pale in an instant.
"My god, who did this? It’s too cruel."
The two followed Abeng, stepping over a floor covered in rotten flesh as they entered the hospital. The man in blue clothes was frozen in place, his throat undulating before he suddenly vomited all over the floor.
All around them, as far as their eyes could see, there were dismbered limbs and torsos, many internal organs and body parts lay indistinguishable from one another. So of the clothing on the mutilated bodies blended with the surrounding black and red, making it hard to tell they had been white. There were also fragnts of civilian clothes, likely belonging to the patients.
Abeng was not disturbed by this sight; he had seen much worse inside the brood. Zombies wouldn’t be scared by such scenes either.
Step by step, he moved forward, his nostrils twitching. Aside from the strong scent of blood, he detected another familiar sll.
Before Abeng could analyze what this sll corresponded to, Zheng Minghui’s trembling voice said, "Boss, you have to protect us, there might be a murderer here, a terrifying one."
"A murderer? Who?" Abeng curiously asked.
"Paint Man Lin Jie."
"Paint Man?" Abeng paused, recognizing the na. His eyes lit up!
This was a real enemy!
If he could capture him alive and present him to Khan, with Khan’s standing, he would surely cover him thoroughly!
"Lin Jie! Are you guys sure it’s Lin Jie? Where is he? Make him co out to !"
To Abeng, it seed like spotting an incredible treasure. He loudly called out, eager to have Lin Jie appear before him. He knew well who Lin Jie was. Their attention rely needed summoning and a dozen Level 8 zombies would imdiately co here. Even if it ant destroying the Cloud Gorge Base, he didn’t believe these Level 8 zombies couldn’t handle a Level 8 Counter-Host!
Abeng’s agitated behavior left Zheng Minghui astonished. The "awkward brothers" exchanged glances, feeling speechless, but Abeng’s deanor sowhat reassured them.
"There’s no one?"
"Boss, it’s definitely the Paint Man. Ever since we entered Cloud Gorge Base, we’ve heard of his deeds, we don’t know how many he’s killed. The deaths are exceedingly tragic, just like this, and each ti there’s a paint sll, it’s definitely him!" Shen Mingke confidently said.
In Cloud Gorge Base, besides the oppressive shadow of the Zombie King, there was a murderer whose motives remained unearthly, seemingly whimsically killing random unlucky victims and gruesoly butchering them, leaving no part intact!
How long he had been in Cloud Gorge Base was unclear,
but the first known victim to die by his hand in the base was two years ago. No one knew where he hid, like a demon adept at concealnt, it could be anyone walking past you could be Lin Jie!
After shouting for a while and seeing that no one appeared, Abeng sensed his surroundings covering the entire China B21 district, yet within the whole hospital, he detected no hint of human presence.
That ant, apart from him, Zheng Minghui, Shen Mingke, and that woman, there were no other living people here.
"Nobody in sight, seems like he might have left," Abeng shook his head, slightly disappointed, walking on the bloodied ground, his shoes making squishing noises on the rotten flesh.
It was unclear how many had died here, as bodies filled the entire hall.
The woman outside didn’t dare enter but instead ran out of the hospital and dialed a number loudly, attracting many onlookers. Driven by curiosity, so passersby who learned what the woman had witnessed in Second Ward rushed through the sliding gate, only to be terrified by the sight of the nurous corpses and refused to enter further.
Abeng led Zheng Minghui further into the hall and then turned left. The first thing he saw was a wall that still had so white left, on which was written in fresh red:
"Co find if you want the purification sample. It’s in my possession. The terms are the sa as before, exchange it with the ssage I want, easy for you. I know you can see this, I left it specifically for you. If you don’t co looking for , I’ll co looking for you! — Lin Jie."
The words on the wall were mixed with blood and paint. Though sowhat twisted, they were legible. Abeng knew that these words left by Lin Jie weren’t ant for him, but why not take advantage since he was the first to arrive?
He stepped closer, glancing at the staircase and seeing the flesh piled up like a hill. And just by closing his eyes, he could quickly imagine what had happened.
That guy Lin Jie must have corralled all the staff and patients in Second Ward’s hall before embarking on a frenzied slaughter. At the ti, he was probably at the entrance to the hall, with the staircase closest to the people gathered there. Many people would have tried to run towards the stairwell first.
But Lin Jie’s speed in killing was too fast—before people could even escape, their bodies were disintegrated. The injuries on their remains showed imnse force, likely caused by sharp-tipped tentacles.
The mountain of corpses on the staircase were those killed last, skewered simultaneously by nurous tentacles at the entrance!
Abeng glanced just once and built a rough model in his mind, then returned his gaze to the wall, leaving Zheng Minghui both astounded and horrified.
Such a grueso and bloody scene, even they, just spectators, felt their stomachs churn and faces turn pale. But Abeng seed completely unaffected.
Ignoring the two n, Abeng pondered the bloody ssage Lin Jie left on the wall.
"He left this ssage for soone specific, and I don’t know him, so it definitely isn’t ant for . So, who is it? How did Lin Jie know that this person would co and see his ssage? Moreover, what’s this purification agent?"
Abeng tried to reason through it himself but due to the lack of clues, he decided to directly contact Tang Ye.
