Hearing this, the eyes of Su Sigui and others lit up montarily, but soon worry followed. What if an invitation allowed only one person entry permissions? Besides Su Sigui, they had to follow the crowd and move forward bit by bit.

Who could bear this?

The crowd was split apart, creating a vacuum area, where a man in military uniform held a loudspeaker, repeating the earlier words.

"Anyone with an invitation, co here quickly."

Voices from the loudspeaker, imbued with a distinctive electronic rasp, called out, and many people raised silvery booklets in their hands, shouting from various parts of the crowd, "I have an invitation!"

"So do I."

"..."

Su Sigui scanned the area and noticed that those shouting about their invitations were also surrounded by others, their faces filled with excitent, as if the person with the invitation could bring them along through the special channel. However, that wasn’t the main point; so people pulled out irregularly shaped Yajin currencies and squeezed next to those with invitations, asking to be brought along.

This clearly ant one thing—that an invitation could allow multiple people to enter through the special channel and head to the "Sacred Summit" in advance.

Could it an that one invitation could also allow their entire group to enter the palace?

As the man in military uniform called out, Su Sigui led the group toward the designated gathering point.

"As usual, those carrying heavy items or needing to drive vehicles, co this way; those without such needs, go that way."

Su Sigui thought for a mont, instructed Yan Xing to bring the car over, and, possibly because they had an invitation, people quickly made way as Yan Xing drove up. Several individuals even brought out Yajin and pleaded with them to take them along. After considering it, Su Sigui decided to bring a pair of sisters, as they would be the first to contact the inner city atop the "Sacred Summit." Not being familiar with the surroundings, having two locals to guide them could be handy.

"Two Yajin are required for those driving a vehicle."

Compared to those who went in light gear, Su Sigui and her group were held aside, as it seed more troubleso to drive into the "Sacred Summit." Accordingly, a fee was required, and two Yajin seed very reasonable for them. Of course, for ordinary people, this could be half a month’s hard-earned inco.

"Sister, should we pay this money?" one of the sisters allowed by Su Sigui to join them on the "Sacred Summit" hesitated and asked. While speaking, her expression seed uneasy, clearly reluctant to spend the two Yajin. However, how could Su Sigui let them pay this fee? Two Yajin were nothing; Yan Xing and others could easily earn more than fifty Yajin just by wandering outside the Cloud Gorge Base. When one is powerful, one can afford to be capricious!

"No need, we aren’t short of money, don’t worry," Su Sigui said smilingly. In their earlier conversation, the sisters, the elder nad Flora and the younger Jinnah, were Russians. Their real nas were not these three and two-lettered nas, but much longer, almost as long as several lines of an ancient Chinese poem. However, in the Royal Court, Chinese culture seed to be predominant.

If the people living here are Chinese people, then it’s not this troubleso because their nas are generally short and easy to rember, but people from other countries and regions need to simplify their nas to make them easier to address. The sisters ntioned that their parents had perished in the zombie wave attack on Cottriton City seven years ago, and afterward, they were adopted by their uncle, who soon got infected with the zombie virus and turned into a zombie. They were then adopted by the couple Ye Genya, who, fortunately, were powerful new humans, and under their care, the sisters lived well.

Of course, this "well" was incomparable to the life before the Apocalypse, but it was far better than their previously nomadic existence; even with the Ye Genya couple, they still lived a life on the run from place to place, facing zombies and hazards everywhere, and they almost got caught by the reaper several tis.

It wasn’t until three years ago when the Royal Court was established that they, led by the Ye Genya couple, entered the Royal Court and began their long-aspired stable life.

After hearing their story, Xu Tianyu in the car still lanted the tragic fate of the sisters, but soon beca curious.

"Hey, do you know that there are a lot of zombies in the Royal Court?"

"Zombies?" Flora pondered for a few seconds, seemingly understanding what Xu Tianyu ant by zombies, before repeating the word.

"Yes!"

"Yes, but you don’t have to worry, they don’t live with us, they are below us, while we are above. They can only live with us after they regain sanity and are recognized by Heavenly Khan."

Flora’s Chinese was a bit awkward, but overall it was very fluent, enough that Su Sigui and the others could understand without issues.

At the mont when Flora finished speaking, the people in the car looked thoughtful, and Su Sigui thought more about the narrow pathway she had seen yesterday that led below. By "below", Flora must have ant that place.

She grew more certain that the so-called Sacred Summit was a zombie hive. It was her first ti seeing such a large hive, of course, she had never seen a hive in her previous life either; she had only heard about them.

Despite this, she had so knowledge about zombie hives. Most hives typically occupied an area of about five to six kiloters in diater, a few could occupy an area of about eight kiloters, and zombie hives were a rare type of zombified creature. From her previous life to now, she had only heard about zombie hives a handful of tis.

Zombie hives were not aggressive. They did not attack any creatures, whether zombies or living beings. However, they would severely drain the nutrients from the surrounding area, similar to plants. Once a hive appeared, the original vegetation would quickly wither and shrink, nutrients in the soil depleted and the land turned loose and dark.

If a survivor base or Sanctuary City found a hive nearby, the first thing they had to do was to destroy the hive as quickly and forcefully as possible because the longer the hive existed, the more frequently the survivor base or Sanctuary City would face zombie waves attacking it. If they found it troubleso or were unable to resist the zombies inside the hive, the second option would be to relocate elsewhere.

Destroying a hive was most hazardous and difficult not because of the hive itself, but because of the vast number of zombies it produced. Once the zombies inside were cleared, unless under special circumstances, the hive would not resist and would be dismantled bit by bit by the attacking creature or escape from its habitat pit.

PS: I’ve been feeling really bad these past few days; I’ve been struggling with writer’s block. Every ti I write, I feel a significant blockage, and my mind is all jumbled, especially during this plot. I’m not sure how to lay the foundation for the following scenarios using proper writing and rhetoric.

So, I’ve been feeling quite down recently and there might be so issues with the phrasing. Please forgive , dear readers.

(Perhaps it’s because I’ve been too excited these days...)
