And it was precisely because of these four words that she took her four strongest subordinates and started on this journey.

The incident just now was a re interlude, yet it stripped the five people in the car of the mindset to appreciate the beautiful scenery outside the window: the vast and stunning grassy hills and distant mountain ranges now seed filled with unknown dangers at this mont.

Su Sigui leaned on the window with her hands crossed, looking at it all with exhaustion surfacing in her eyes. The mont the Peace Party vanished, she felt as if the weight of that partly lifted burden had once again returned to her shoulders, crushing her breathless. How she longed to be like so of the lucky won she had t, marrying the man she loved who also loved her in return, living a simple but beautiful life under his protection. What the fate of humanity would be had nothing to do with her. It was just a matter of dying, without the need to consider the so-called future.

Perhaps she really could have lived that life, but lying on the railroad tracks, ready to end it all, the mont she reopened her eyes, the intangible responsibility had already firmly bound her!

It was as if a deep voice from sowhere was telling her: all of this is what you must bear!

At first, she might have found it all interesting, holding the power over many things, easily entering the constantly advancing era’s train, filling in all her regrets! But as ti went on, a sense of responsibility was born; she must do sothing! However, gradually, she beca tired, weary, even began to loathe it. Like a ga that initially attracted you with its gaplay, slowly climbing the ranks, dominating and being called a legend until people cursed you as garbage, trash. But as you rose through the ranks and beca a high-end player, you’d find the only reason you keep playing the ga were the people you t at the beginning, the mories you made, the ranks and standings you couldn’t let go of.

She no longer played for joy, instead caring imnsely about her power and stars, a nickna near the top of the leaderboard. No longer looking forward to showing off her skills by defeating others, she started to worry about being paired with bad teammates, easily losing her cool, not realizing she had long grown tired of the ga. All that was left were mories, and yet, she couldn’t let go.

The few people in the car were all silent, but there was one exception: the only ordinary person among them. He didn’t care about their worries at all; on the contrary, he was all smiles, remarking that this was the first ti he had ridden in such a comfortable car.

He could see the concern in the eyes of the others in the car, but he didn’t know what to say to make these younger n and won stop worrying about potential dangers.

And the old man didn’t realize that he was the hope of the group.

"Co on, it’s ti to eat."

At that mont, soone’s voice broke the gloomy atmosphere in the car, and he took so instant als out of his bag. The packaging looked unfamiliar, probably the product of a food company from after the apocalypse.

The speaking man took out six boxes of instant als, skilfully tearing all the packaging and pouring the various side dish packets and main course packets into them. He ripped open the packaging water, and soon enough, the six instant als were ready, with steam sprouting from each plastic al box. The man then distributed the als, including one to the old man.

The packaging had so Chinese characters on it: the na of a food company, and so ingredients. The old man clearly knew Chinese and was visibly surprised to see that. He exclaid in a language the others couldn’t understand, "My goodness, this is mutant beast at. Just one bite and an ordinary person like could last for days. No wonder it’s the food of the evolved lords, it’s really sothing else."

The old man’s murmuring was incomprehensible to the rest, they all gave him strange looks. As he gazed at them, he hesitantly asked, "You all, are you really willing to give sothing so precious to ?"

His Chinese was awkward, gurgling with a rolling r, but judging from the old man’s facial features, it was obvious he wasn’t Chinese; he was a mix of Russian and Outer Mongolian. Though he could speak Chinese, it was infused with the characteristics of their native languages.

Despite the old man’s words, the others glanced at each other, understanding. At Cloud Gorge Base, an ordinary person would have to work without food or drink for two years to afford such a al, while for high-level new humans, it was just a single al. But this one al had to suffice the consumption of a high-ranking new human, so the ingredients were taken from evolved plants or mutant beasts.

An ordinary person lucky enough to get such a al would probably cherish it and occasionally look at it to feel content; so might be so extre as not to dare eat a single bite until they died.

The expression on the old man’s face seed to confirm their guess.

So soone said at once, "Old man, please eat. It’s for you, we have plenty of this stuff."

"Thank you, then."

The old man displayed a genuinely sincere smile. To be honest, this was the first ti he had ever encountered such approachable evolved humans.

For a while, the car was filled with the sound of ripping al lids while soone asked the old man while eating, "Hey, old man, does this place you’re taking us to really exist?"

"I don’t know about the Northern Empire, I only know of a place called the Royal Court. I think that should be where you’re headed," the old man said with a chuckle, as if his smile was always his mask, ever so kind.

"The Royal Court?"

But hearing "Royal Court," everyone in the car exchanged glances. They had never heard of such a place.

"Is the Royal Court a city? How big is it?" After a while, a young man sitting next to Su Sigui asked cautiously.

The old man nodded, smiling, "Yes, it’s a city, and it’s huge! It’s the largest city in the world. Tribes in the area all fall under its jurisdiction. However..."

As he spoke, the old man’s voice trailed off for a mont, the overtones oddly eerie. Su Sigui and the rest weren’t idiots; they realized the old man was about to give them a warning.

"Old man?"

"Heh heh, it’s nothing. I see you’re not bad people. You must be seeking help from soone inside the Royal Court, right?"

At this, Su Sigui nodded, even though she didn’t know if the person she was looking for would be in this so-called Royal Court. She couldn’t simply deny it because she wasn’t certain.

"Yes."

"I thought so. But you folks are lucky. If it were just anybody, I’d outright say I don’t know. It’s been many years since an outsider has entered the Royal Court."
