The zombie dragon’s massive jaws opened wide, revealing a pitch-black darkness inside, like an endless abyss that made one’s scalp tingle!
Looking at this bloody gaping mouth, the soldiers inside the fighter feared the chilling cold that rose from within, penetrating their marrow; this was not the cold brought by the harsh winter. Despite the warmth provided by Fighter No.2’s cabin, which ought to have shielded them from the outside cold, they felt as if they were exposed right outside the jet, facing the grotesque jaws!
The zombie dragon was swift. From its vague silhouette in the fog, to now clearly displaying its scaly armor, it had taken barely two seconds!
Fortunately, each of them had reacted in advance. So pilots watched as the zombie dragon’s gaping mouth swept right under their jet, nearly clamping shut on it!
"F*ck, about ti you showed up!"
Seeing the zombie dragon erge from the thick fog, the soldier on Fighter No.2 smiled and picked up the microphone shouting, "Everyone, get ready! Load up the phosphorous shells! On the count of three, let ’em have it!"
"Three!" Twenty-odd jets circled above the zombie dragon.
"Two!" The soldiers adjusted their flight angles, making sure not to be the first casualties if the dragon retaliated.
"One!"
As the soldier on Fighter No.2 counted down, the decks of the twenty-odd jets automatically opened up, spilling countless black iron spheres like raindrops.
Song Muyuan, who held onto the tail scales of the zombie dragon, sensed sothing was wrong. Hastily, he summoned a flying zombie to assist, but before it could co close, it crashed to the ground, struck by the thrashing body of the zombie dragon two hundred ters away!
"F*ck!"
Song Muyuan cursed, filled with both anger and frustration. He rued ever deciding to show off on top of the zombie dragon’s head.
At that mont, the zombie dragon lifted its massive tail, and Song Muyuan slid off, his body suddenly flung into the air. Just as he was about to fall, he quickly grabbed onto a spike on the tail and was flung up and down a few tis, narrowly preventing a fall.
Before Song Muyuan could stabilize himself, the black objects from the jets had started hitting the zombie dragon’s body!
Song Muyuan saw clearly then—they were cannon shells, but different from the ones fired earlier, seemingly designed for a specific purpose.
Once these shells hit the zombie dragon, they bounced off, followed by "boom, boom" explosive sounds. The shells destructed mid-air, dissecting into nurous small fragnts that once again pelted the dragon’s body, this ti inflicting severe damage!
The small fragnts t the dragon’s body and ignited like a fla hitting gasoline, causing an explosive burst of fire that quickly rose.
In no ti, flas blazed across parts of the zombie dragon’s body and started spreading outward.
The artillery shells fell like raindrops, crashing down in just a matter of minutes. The dragon corpse was completely engulfed in flas, and Song Muyuan, probably by good fortune, was not threatened. The soldiers focused their attack on the dragon’s head, so most of the shells fell on its head and the front part of its body.
Crack, crack!
The dragon corpse turned into a fire dragon, its flas dispersing the dense fog around it, and its roaring, filled with boundless rage, never ceased.
Its long body coiled up, its scales grinding against each other. It was clear that the dragon tried to rub off the flas enveloping it, but for so reason, these flas clung to it like bone maggots. No matter how much the dragon tried to rub them off, it had no effect. Even if the flas extinguished, they would reignite the mont the dragon relaxed slightly.
What it didn’t know was that before the Apocalypse, white phosphorous munitions were banned by multiple countries; these weapons mixed white phosphorous with a sticky liquid. Once it hit a person, the phosphorous clung stubbornly to the body, the flas quickly covering them completely, impossible to extinguish by conventional ans. The victim could only burn continuously in the flas until they turned into charred remains!
The white phosphorous bombs dropped from the fighter were enhanced versions, many tis more powerful than those before the Apocalypse, only used to handle massive swarms of corpses.
"Push harder! Burn it to death!"
Watching the dragon corpse engulfed in raging flas, excitent appeared on the face of the soldier in Fighter No.2. Under his command, if this dragon fell here, he would return a hero of Cloud Gorge Base! His status and resources would follow!
Why wouldn’t he be thrilled?
Roar!
Before his joy lasted long, the dragon, filled with rage, roared again. Then, the air was torn apart, exploding with a loud bang!
Boom!
In an instant, seven fighter jets were smashed into pieces by the dragon’s tail, and the soldiers aboard Fighter No.2 watched as the tail brutally exploded the jets, the unfortunate souls aboard having no chance of survival.
The other fighters hadn’t even reacted when a streak of black light shot forth, piercing through another fighter jet which exploded into a fireball. Then, the black light swept across, and several more jets burst into flas around them.
"Damn, retreat!"
It wasn’t until then that the soldier in Fighter No.2 reacted. He had greatly underestimated the dragon’s defenses; he hadn’t realized that the dragon’s pain stemd from itself and had nothing to do with their attacks.
Following the soldier’s shout, the other surviving jets quickly turned and flew higher towards Cloud Gorge Base. But soon, another accident occurred—a Level 6 zombie leaped a hundred ters high, its tongue unnaturally long, grabbing a fighter jet’s wing. With a strong pull, the whole jet was yanked down shakily!
"F*ck!" The soldier aboard scread in fury, imdiately activating the ejection chanism. The canopy of the jet popped open, ejecting the two pilots. However, the Level 6 zombie imdiately abandoned the jet and stared intently with its pale eyes at one of the pilots who had ejected, then its tongue contracted and stretched out again, flying straight toward the pilot’s body.
In midair, the pilot had no way to maneuver and was instantly coiled by the tongue of the Level 6 zombie.
