Once a zombie evolved to Level 6, its defense was no longer sothing that ordinary laser weapons could handle. Only so powerful new humans wielding weapons made of advanced H steel could confront them, but this approach was bound to cause casualties. To reduce casualties, close combat needed to be minimized. However, long-range weapons struggled to penetrate the defense of Level 6 zombies. Hence, the Piercing Death Cannon was introduced, a weapon capable of reducing the attack area to a single point with extrely strong penetration, thus breaching the defense of a Level 6 zombie. Therefore, the Piercing Death Cannon beca a specialized weapon against Level 6 zombies.

The mont the three Piercing Death Cannons extended, one of the officers grimaced with rage and shouted, "Fire!"

Following his command, the three Piercing Death Cannons emitted a "sizzling" sound. About three seconds later, a purple beam as thick as an adult’s index finger shot out, severing the waists of several zombies in its path before directly hitting two Level 6 zombies!

Boom! Boom!

A series of explosions ensued as flas burst continuously from the bodies of the two Level 6 zombies. Under the soldiers’ adjustnts, the Piercing Death Cannons relentlessly targeted the heads of the two Level 6 zombies, emitting more "sizzling" sounds.

One of the Level 6 zombies seed unable to withstand the damage. Having evolved to Level 6, its intelligence and consciousness continuously alerted it of danger. It began to retreat, but the next second, its body stiffened, and its eyes revealed a trace of fear, as if it had been warned by so terrifying presence in that instant!

Thus, it moved chanically, struggling forward while enduring the Piercing Death Cannon’s attack. Soon, one of the Level 6 zombies’ heads exploded near the protective shield, sending rotten tissue flying everywhere.

The remaining Level 6 zombie also quickly fell under the attack of the three Piercing Death Cannons, targeting the zombie’s fatal weak spot and bringing it to the ground.

Before the soldiers could even cheer, the wave of zombies was already close to the zombie wall, nearly reaching the protective shield.

The soldiers began furiously trying to stop the wave of zombies. Intense laser fire killed one zombie after another as they neared the protective shield, but the number of zombies was simply too great, and no matter how hard the soldiers tried, they couldn’t stop them all. As the first low-level zombie touched the protective shield, then the second, third, and fourth, a continuous stream of zombies reached the shield, raising their claws and wildly attacking!

The soldiers above did not panic because the area behind them was just an agricultural zone, and the protective shield hadn’t turned red yet, aning it could hold for a while longer. If it turned red, they could retreat to the Second Defense Line, where the zombie wall would hinder zombies from swarming in as massively as now, only allowing them to enter through so entrances, thus ensuring a better firing environnt for the soldiers.

As zombies had already touched the protective shield, the zombies behind beca increasingly excited, clambering over the bodies of their kin, frantically rushing towards them.

Under the dense attack of laser weapons, many zombies’ heads and bodies were blasted apart, a large number being decapitated, their bodies hurled away several ters by the force of the impact.

But even with the soldiers’ most strenuous defenses, large numbers of zombies reached the protective shield, furiously damaging it. However, their strength was too insufficient to destroy the shield.

As ti passed, more and more high-level zombies appeared, and the soldiers’ resistance efforts beca increasingly difficult.

No one knew how much ti had passed, but amidst the long, focused combat, the soldiers could no longer perceive the passage of ti. It might have been a day, or perhaps just a few hours. As the battle continued, their originally stiff and sore hands began to feel comfortable. It wasn’t that they had grown accustod to it, but rather, in such a state of high-intensity ntal focus, their senses had turned from initial discomfort to numbness.

It was at this ti that the western sun revealed only half of its body, and even that small part was continuously disappearing. It wouldn’t be long before night fell, and fighting zombies in the dark was most difficult. Fortunately, the next batch of combat-ready soldiers was already prepared.

It was a fierce battle, perhaps using up no more than one-tenth of the zombie horde they were currently facing, but no one knew the exact amount.

"Brothers, push on! Keep pushing! Don’t give up! We will not fail!"

The officer above was shouting loudly, his voice encouraging the soldiers around him. Facing such a dense horde of zombies and still holding the first defense line without breaking was incredible, especially considering this was a massive horde of four million zombies! The density was sothing they had never seen before.

But their first defense line was still holding, which every officer here knew was mainly due to the soldiers’ desperate efforts with no room for relaxation. The staggering number of four million zombies made them fear any mistakes, allowing the first defense line to hold up thus far.

Truly, all this was due to the efforts of these soldiers!

At the sa ti, it also made all the officers here and the big figures in the Sky Continent see hope, and they couldn’t help but get excited.

By now, outside the Cloud Gorge Base on the battlefield, the dead zombies had piled up so high that they had raised the ground level by five or six ters. The zombies from behind were running forward, stepping on the bodies of their own kind! Even the heavy snow falling continuously from the sky couldn’t cover up these piles and piles of corpses.

No one knew exactly what ti it was, but as they looked at the tiny spot of the sun’s body left, they knew they could rest soon. They were now aware of their own existence, as if their consciousness was floating in mid-air, feeling nothing, yet seeing their bodies chanically repeating each action.

It wouldn’t be long before the combat-ready soldiers would co to replace them in resisting the zombie horde. Just as they thought this, suddenly, they saw an enormously huge creature appear in the distance. The observation soldier imdiately picked up the anti-life material detector to lock onto that huge creature. The data on the detector fluctuated wildly, finally locking onto the Level 6 ranking.

"It’s a zombie! A high-level zombie!"

An officer said with a frown, rubbing his temples, feeling a bit of a headache. The gigantic zombie that had just appeared in front of them stood twenty ters tall, its body not very rounded, and it was supported by dozens of short but massively thick legs, resembling those of a sea turtle, as it moved forward.
