I’m so thankful for the amazing support from readers. It has made it a challenge for to keep the plot moving. This is the mont when my inspirations are at their peak. The character’s mindset transition was too abrupt in the earlier parts of the novel, and there were also many gaps in the early plot. I always had to strain my mind to co up with ideas whenever I got to a critical point.

After spending so much ti, I’ve finally got to this point in the story. The plot won’t be filled with bugs like it was before, and my writing has also greatly improved. Of course, the credit for these improvents goes to all the readers’ encouragent that kept going. It’s a very lonely thing to sit alone in a rented house and write, but thankfully I had all of you! Whether it’s encouragent or constructive criticism, your comnts and recomndations let know you’re reading my book. This fulfills . Thank you!

The previous Chapter was short. The novel will be published tomorrow, so today I will update thrice.

Now, let’s get back to the story:

...

Qinshan Base.

Swarms of survivors, wearing ragged clothes and extrely thin from hunger, paraded down the streets in a wave-like movent. At first glance, one might even think they were a bunch of zombies. They held up white banners, every word on which was filled with hatred towards the new humans!

The ergence of new humans took away the benefits that should have belonged to the old humans. Although the new humans consud more, they provided significant assistance in the fight against zombies!

They were immune to anti-life substances, and compared to ordinary humans, they held countless lives in their hands when fighting zombies!

The old humans felt slighted. They knew that they could not contribute much, but they also had to eat! They wanted to be well-fed! They did not want to fight zombies for fear that they too would beco such monsters. Saving the world and assuming the responsibility of mankind should not fall on them, it’s supposed to be the duty of the new humans!

As the saying goes: The bigger the ability, the greater the responsibility!

Aren’t the new humans powerful, aren’t they more intelligent than ordinary people? Then why do we, the old humans, have to sacrifice? This is unfair, the world is unfair!

In the hearts of the protesting survivors, everyone should receive equal resources irrespective of their status or position! The idea of more to those who contribute more is total nonsense!

Are new humans and soldiers the only humans, and not the survivors?

Although survivors may be useless, they are citizens of this country and should be treated equally!

We are the underprivileged! We will not stand for this!

Chanting these slogans, they held protests in front of Qinshan Base. However, their actions were often t with threats from the soldiers. As these survivors were afraid of zombies, soldiers, and new humans, they always dispersed in panic, but they never stopped!

"Down with new humans! Kill all new humans, they are no longer human!"

Using such slogans against the new humans was a secondary objective; what they truly wanted was food in equal quantities as new humans!

The future of mankind was not their concern. They believe they should have good food, drink, and must live as they did before the Apocalypse. As for the responsibilities they had to bear, let others take them up!

After all, when the sky falls, the tall ones will support it!

Weren’t they the citizens of this country?

"Oppose new humans, they are the greatest disaster! They are endangering social order!"

At the forefront of the protesters, a man dressed in a clean suit, wearing gold-rimd glasses, raised his fists and shouted, enticing others to imitate him.

Naturally, these actions attracted others struggling at the bottom of society during the Apocalypse, and they started to join in, swelling the ranks of the demonstrators. After just a little while, their numbers reached tens of thousands!

The man in the suit was Min Canyang, who before the Apocalypse was a seasoned solicitor who had won countless lawsuits. He was used to a distinguished lifestyle, so how could he stand by and watch new humans, who had previously lived at the bottom of society, enjoy a good life in the Apocalypse?

How could he allow soone else to step on his head? He wanted privileges just like the new humans! He desired als three to four tis larger than an average person’s portion!

He wanted the privilege to kill without punishnt, and the liberty to toy with lives!

He desired countless attractive won to play with!

His ambition was great. Even though he lacked the capability to fight against zombies, he believed he had the intellect to survive!

Why was this?

Because in his heart, he always saw himself as a nobleman, regardless of the circumstances or location!

The vast crowd, amassed from countless survivors, advanced in torrents towards the ten-ter-high concrete wall, beyond which was a world of privilege!

Living inside were the wealthy prodigies of the pre-Apocalypse world and the powerful new humans!

They wanted to shake things up, to serenade them with chaos! They wanted to realize the severity of the situation and get them to punish the new humans!

This world must be ruled by the commoners! Let those new humans who only know how to use brute force fight it out with the zombies! They only deserved to play the role of beasts of burden and serve the old humans!

A huge fleet ford by countless survivors roled toward the tall wall that distinguished wealth from impoverishnt!

The guards up on the wall were apparently unperturbed by this sight, so were even brazenly drinking milk.

Thumping sounds!

At this mont, the echo of heavy battle drums filled the air, a warning signal. Its ringing signified a zombie invasion of the base, but there were no zombies outside. This warning was only ant for the Noble Zone within the base!

A massacre within mankind was about to comnce!

Suddenly, the door leading to the realm of nobility opened, and a squad dressed in sleek, black, military uniforms marched out in unison, each emanating an overwhelming bloody aura!

Their murderous intimidation was so palpable that it brought the advance of the protesting survivors to a halt!

"What are they going to do?"

"I don’t know."

"Are they going to kill us all?"

"Dare they?"

"There are so many of us, what do we have to fear from a couple of idiots?"

As they watched the 50-strong formation approach, the survivors began whispering amongst themselves, their tone filled with disdain!

"Ahem!"

At this mont, a man walked out on top of the high wall. He was indeed He Zhoulong. He held a loudspeaker, cleared his throat, and drowned out the sound of the crowd of survivors below.

"This is a restricted area of Qinshan Base. All unauthorized personnel, please disperse imdiately!"

"I repeat, this is a restricted area of Qinshan Base. All unauthorized personnel, please disperse imdiately. Or else, we will treat this as a capital offense against order and deal with it severely!"

He Zhoulong’s authoritative voice echoed from the loudspeaker and into the ears of every survivor. As soon as they heard his words, all the survivors below began to shout in discord!

"What if we don’t move? How dare you kill us? ’Deal with it severely?’ Bullshit!"

"Bunch of good-for-nothings! The food they throw us doesn’t even fill our bellies, what good are they? Throw them all out into the wild!"
