"Enslavent worm?"

The man at the end of the corridor was stunned; it was the first ti he had heard this term. What was an enslavent worm? He was puzzled, but seeing the strange expressions of Old Guo, Sun Wen, and several other soldiers, he imdiately understood that this was definitely not sothing good.

He showed no rcy and directly shouted to the soldiers he had brought with him, "All troops prepare for battle!"

"Yes!" The soldiers let out a loud roar, firing crazily at Lin Jie, not for any particular reason other than they had never seen this person before, and Old Guo had also said earlier that people from the surface had co down to invade the shelter.

Compared to the firepower of Old Guo, Sun Wen, and the others, the man on the opposite side had brought a large number of soldiers, naturally forming a firepower that Lin Jie’s side couldn’t compare with.

Before long, a barrage of bullets whistled in, tearing everything around Lin Jie apart in an instant, and his clothes were turned into shreds under the impact of countless bullets, but his skin was a hundred tis harder than steel!

The bullets that hamred on his body twisted and flattened!

"Good, I’ll use you as a sacrifice!"

Lin Jie laughed crazily, and as he let out a "Puchi," his upper clothes suddenly burst open, tentacles sprouting out like snakes, and Lin Jie’s gaze, too, was as cold as those serpents!

He extended a hand forward and tentacles waving on his back emitted a "hiss hiss hiss" sound before flying toward the soldiers in front of him!

"He’s not human! He’s not human!"

The shelter’s soldiers, who had never seen a human with tentacles sprouting from their backs, instinctively thought that the other was not human.

But this wasn’t surprising; unlike the survivors on the surface, the food consud within the shelter was extrely safe, untouched by anti-life substances present before the Apocalypse, so evolved mutants were rare. It was also for these reasons that there were surprisingly few strong individuals in the shelter.

After all, everyone in the shelter had entered within a week of the Apocalypse, so there were very few anti-life substances remaining in their bodies, making the birth of New Humans naturally rarer than on the surface. As for evolved mutants, they were seldom seen on the surface to begin with, and in the shelter—where the population was just over twenty thousand—to date, no one had ever seen an evolved mutant.

"This guy is a monster, concentrate fire, kill this thing first!"

The leading man pointed toward Lin Jie and roared, and for a mont, a rain of bullets poured onto Lin Jie, hitting him without any effect. The anti-evolutionary weapons, which seed formidable in the eyes of the soldiers, impacted Lin Jie like a water gun squirting a person, causing no harm whatsoever.

Instead, as the tentacles from Lin Jie’s back rushed over, dozens of soldiers were imdiately impaled, eting their demise.

"What are you waiting for? Get moving!"

Lin Jie’s gaze turned to Sun Wen and the others as a tentacle curled and struck Old Guo. A tense feeling gripped the hearts of the five, who realized their current situation, gritted their teeth, and took up arms against their forr comrade.

Although outnumbered, with Lin Jie, this humanoid monster present, one after another of the shelter’s defense soldiers were sent flying as soon as he got close to them. The power of a Level 7 New Human was too overwhelming; with every punch, every kick, the result was the complete dismbernt of the body. For a mont, limbs and internal organs of the soldiers flew chaotically everywhere!

The scene was a ss, drenched with blood, as the soldiers were forced to retreat at every turn!

"Ah! Get back! Get back!" the man leading the soldiers, weapon in hand, roared furiously at Lin Jie as he charged towards them. The gunfire spat tongues of fla, but the bullets that riddled his body were simply ineffective, driving the man to utter despair.

Very quickly, his eyes could no longer keep up with Lin Jie’s speed of movent. In a swish, Lin Jie disappeared into the distance, and the next second, he felt an unstoppable force on the gun in his hands, followed by a loud "bang," as the gun shattered into pieces.

The soldiers around him also let out continuous screams of agony. He saw them being swept away by a shadowy figure and then one after the other, being flung away like cannonballs, creating dents in the steel walls lining the corridors.

Lin Jie took an enslavent bug out of his backpack and, with his other hand, grabbed the man and pressed it against the back of his neck. Accompanied by the man’s continuous screams, the enslavent bug was successfully installed.

Tossing his backpack to Sun Wen and the others, Lin Jie barked, "Install these things on any New Humans of his rank you see. Better not pull any stunts, or else... heh heh."

With a sinister chuckle, Sun Wen and the others shuddered and could only nod their heads, distributing the enslavent bugs from their backpacks and heading off in every direction.

Although the New Humans were sowhat unfamiliar to them as ntioned by Lin Jie, they were not fools and quickly realized that these New Humans must be the evolved beings they had been talking about.

Lin Jie also headed towards the corridor and reached the end, his eyes t with a vast space. He did not know how large the area was, but it was at least as big as four or five football fields combined.

As more soldiers ca towards him, they stood no chance against a Level 7 New Human. It was like ants to a human; unless the ants were nurous enough to form a massive swarm, they should not even dream of killing a man. As for Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 New Humans, they were not even worthy of being considered ants in the face of Lin Jie, a Level 7 New Human.

Even Level 4 New Humans fell far short of that mark.

However, under Lin Jie’s frenzied slaughter, only corpses were left scattered across the square. The shelter’s sole Level 5 New Human was also fitted with an enslavent bug. As the enslavent bugs tornted them, even the resisting strong ones quickly fell in line.

Within the shelter, Lin Jie could be said to be utterly invincible, annihilating everyone in sight, while those in the shelter fell under the control of Sun Wen and his associates.

Bang!

In a certain area, a figure slamd heavily against the wall, his arm twisted into a helix by imnse force, his face covered in blood, sitting paralyzed on the ground, coughing continuously.

"Don’t co over, run away!" he shouted to soone in front of him. As he finished speaking, a hand gripped his neck and hoisted him up, and before him stood none other than Lin Jie.

In the distance, another New Human watched all this, eyes involuntarily revealing fear. He wanted to run, but his conscience was telling him he could not flee, he had to save that person. So, his gaze shifted to a cage hanging high in the sky, his eyes lit up, and he began to climb towards it.
