The inheritance thod of Nine Songs is mostly an old passing to the new. It doesn’t require the Witch to personally train them; they choose suitable people themselves, passing down their skills, respective incense burners, and the responsibilities of Nine Songs, just like Yao Zhen and her master.
Regarding Nine Songs, Sang Que sums it up in her own words,
The [Storyteller] is responsible for the promotion of Nine Songs. His stories can place everyone in a favorable environnt when faced with powerful opponents.
The Ghost Vendor and the [Shopkeeper] both handle logistics, but the Shopkeeper hides deeper than the Ghost Vendor, possessing more resources. He has special abilities in business and resource hoarding, especially in tis of war, where he can mobilize vast resources to aid civilians suffering from the chaos.
It was written here that the Shopkeeper only appears when chaos arrives.
The [Ghost Vendor] is also in charge of logistics. He is proficient in the ’Five Ghosts Dao’ and ’Secret Artifact Making’, and all his goods are collected and made by himself.
Besides logistics, the Ghost Vendor is also the liaison and information officer for the Nine Songs mbers. Everyone reaches out through him, and he travels around, compiling major world events into books and delivering them to the Nine Songs mbers regularly.
The duty of the [Bell Doctor] is simple: to heal the wounded and cure the sick, serving as the healer of the Nine Songs team. In addition to dical knowledge passed down by previous Bell Doctors, the leader of Nine Songs also imparts so modern dical techniques that can be used in the Deceit Dynasty to the Bell Doctor.
The Bell Doctor’s incense burner gives her the ability to revive the dead and heal bones and flesh, though this power cos at a price, and she won’t use it lightly.
The [Daoist] and [Monk] are spies hidden within the Taoist Sect and the Buddhist Sect, respectively.
The Taoist Sect and Buddhist Sect of the Deceit Dynasty were actually established by the Witches of the past, including the Evil Suppression Bureau, with the intention of transferring all ghost-expelling thods from Huaxia into the Deceit Dynasty.
The Evil Suppression Bureau operates openly, while Nine Songs works in the shadows, with the Taoist Sect and Buddhist Sect assisting.
Upon seeing this, Sang Que understood why when she took the Life-saving Money and was pursued by the Ghost Coffin into the Buddhist Temple, the Longevity Buddha was willing to help her.
The [Assassin] is easy to understand; they’re killers responsible for assassination.
The letter stated that assassins represent the dark side of Nine Songs; they don’t just heal and save, but sotis, to stabilize the world, the leader of Nine Songs would instruct assassins to deal with rebels threatening the dynasty.
Right or wrong doesn’t matter, only the stability of the tis.
The [Gu Master] and assassin have similar duties; both are the strongest killers in the Nine Songs team, but the assassin targets individuals for assassination.
The Gu Master’s power is terrifying; one person can be as formidable as an army. It was with the assistance of Nine Songs, with the Gu Master contributing the most, that the Da Xuan Dynasty was established.
In peaceful tis, the Gu Master would not step out of Yunzhou.
The letter ntions that the current mbers of Nine Songs have their own principles and limits for acting, and they are not blindly loyal servants obeying the leader’s orders.
Even the leader’s actions need to align with the principles of Nine Songs.
Sang Que thought that during the years when her birth mother was absent, Da Xuan was always attacking Yunzhou, trying to manage Yunzhou with Da Xuan’s system, perhaps out of fear of the Gu Master’s power, aiming to sever the roots of the Gu Master.
If Yunzhou people no longer revere the Hundred Ghosts and cease to cultivate gu, the Gu Master might beco ineffective.
Currently, even the officials of the Xuan Dynasty revere the Pri Minister and encourage people in all states to build the Pri Minister’s Temple, which is actually the Pri Minister harvesting incense from the populace.
Her biological father, the Pri Minister, seeks to replace the Witch Lady as the supre ghost god of the dynasty.
Perhaps he is still striving for the goal of ’devouring all the ghosts in the world, ending the era of ghosts and monsters.’
Finally, there’s only the matter of this painting left. Sang Que finished looking over it quickly, left the Bronze Mountain Ghost Token on the table, and hastily exited the painting.
The thod of leaving is quite simple. Just as described in The Story of the Peach Blossom Spring, there is a gorge within the mountains; exit through the gorge, and naturally, you’ll leave the world within the painting.
The painting is a powerful containnt item, drawing energy from Evil Ghosts. It requires a continuous supply of ghosts inside to ensure the painting functions properly.
Besides herself, living beings and creatures can also temporarily enter it, but they cannot stay for long. They will be slowly eroded by the power within the painting, and in ti, they will beco part of the painting, unable to leave.
However, the painting can store dead objects, especially items like yin objects. If enough ghosts are imprisoned inside, burying yin objects in the ground can absorb the ghosts’ power to enhance their abilities, as can zombies.
While a traditional peach blossom spring grows crops, this one grows dead objects and corpses.

With so ti left before dawn, Sang Que returned ho. Not wanting to disturb her mother, she still felt it was urgent to inform her about her biological mother’s matters and warn her to watch out for any appearance of the Wu Family.
The chain storytelling group’s issues remain unresolved, and Sang Que dared not stay ho too long. After the conversation, Sang Que emptied the fridge and snack cabinet, packing up all the cans and cat treats she had bought for Xuan Yu.
There was quite a bit, so for the first ti, she tried placing the items into the painting, which went smoothly.
Just lay the painting flat on the ground, and anything placed on top disappears as if sinking into water, eventually appearing on the shore of Taohuayuan.

Returning to the Deceit Dynasty, Sang Que wasn’t sleepy. Since reaching the Ghost Level, she could stay alert without sleep. Riding a flower sedan, she continued to wander nearby, hunting evil spirits and malicious ghosts.
She also used the replication function of the Li Trigram Jing Gate to attempt duplicating the Suicide Rope’s power.
Afterward, when encountering evil spirits in the wild, simply standing above them would cause an invisible force to hoist them up as soon as they ’saw’ her, leaving them at her rcy.
The Suicide Rope was weak originally, but after being replicated, its strength scaled with her power. The number of evil spirits hoisted simultaneously and the lifting intensity far exceeded the original Suicide Rope, which delighted Sang Que.
Among various evil spirits, Sang Que particularly favored this little fellow, the Suicide Rope, due to its strong control capabilities, which perfectly compensated for her shortcomings.
As dawn approached, Sang Que prepared to head back to Bright Moon Mountain, when suddenly she heard screams coming from a village in the distance.
Responding to the sound, Sang Que sensed a strong stench of blood upon entering the village. Several villagers tumbled and crawled out of their houses, while inside, two elderly lay on the ground with open chest wounds and missing hearts.
Sang Que abruptly recalled a strange case she heard from Zhang Junyao’s old housekeeper in Pu’an County—seventy-plus residents of a village had their hearts gouged out by an evil ghost overnight, leaving no survivors.
