Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Evidence
Mr. Ya’s blood boiled with excitent at Su Ze’s words.
He felt like the protagonist of a power-fantasy novel, imagining his future self achieving Saint-level in Dongli, making a na for himself, and then returning to Luofan Country. Moni and Mosang would be kneeling at his feet, begging for rcy. Luofan Academy would hang his portrait high on the school’s wall of fa, and the governnt and people of Luofan Country would desperately plead for him to return and beco the Luofan Guardian God.
Just Reached Saint-Level, and My People Are Begging
to Return.
It sounded a little absurd, but what was even more absurd was that Mr. Ya actually thought it was a viable plan.
He had only known Su Ze for a few days and had already earned a hundred million—an amount he would never have dared to dream of before.
He felt that although following Su Ze involved more danger than usual, the rewards were truly massive. And this was while Su Ze was only in the Pupa Stage. Once Su Ze’s evolution level increased, he might really be able to carry him to new heights.
As for the danger... he, Mr. Ya, was afraid of nothing!
Mr. Ya didn’t agree to Su Ze’s proposal imdiately. He planned to see if Su Ze could actually rescue his two "backers."
If he could, then Mr. Ya would make up his mind to follow Su Ze to Dongli.
Besides, other than his grudges, there was nothing left for him in Luofan Country that he couldn’t let go of.
Getting his emotions in check, Mr. Ya asked, "Boss, how are you planning to rescue those two backers?"
Su Ze pulled the folded piece of paper from his pocket, waved it in front of Mr. Ya, and then unfolded it.
When he went in to deliver the food, he hadn’t had any opportunity to communicate with Liou Wenxin, so he didn’t know what she had written on the paper.
There was writing on both sides of the paper.
One side had a string of numbers, which looked like a phone number.
The other side was a letter.
Su Ze read it carefully and fell into thought.
The letter wasn’t addressed to him, but to the officials of the Dongli Kingdom.
It was a letter asking for help!
Clearly, Liou Wenxin understood that at a ti like this, only the Dongli Kingdom’s governnt could save her—just as when she had been imprisoned by the Ancient An Country, it was Dongli that eventually sent people to rescue her.
As for why Liou Wenxin would write such a formal letter... Su Ze thought for a mont and mostly understood. ’This isn’t just a letter; it’s also a crucial piece of evidence.’
The letter detailed how she and Mrs. Yun were forcibly brought back and illegally imprisoned by Amida. It clearly stated where she was being held, and at the bottom, there was even Liou Wenxin’s thumbprint.
This was irrefutable proof that she was being held captive by Luofan Country!
If the Dongli Kingdom wanted to negotiate with Luofan Country, they needed a just cause.
Liou Wenxin had been out of contact for days. Couldn’t the Dongli Kingdom have guessed that she might have fallen into Luofan Country’s hands?
But that was just speculation. Without any evidence, Luofan Country would never admit to it.
Even if the Dongli Kingdom escalated the situation and attracted the attention of a Sovereign Country, it would be Dongli that was in the wrong.
But with this letter, everything was different.
Su Ze pondered for a mont, sorted out his thoughts, then took out his phone and dialed the number on the back of the letter.
If he wasn’t mistaken, this number should connect him to an official from the Dongli Kingdom.
The phone barely rang twice before it was answered. A steady male voice ca through, "Hello, who is this?"
Su Ze said in a low voice, "Dr. Liou Wenxin gave
this number. She’s in trouble."
The person on the other end of the line was silent for a mont before asking, "Who are you?"
"My na is Su Ze."
"I know who you are. Dr. Liou ntioned you. Where is she now?"
"She and Mrs. Yun were captured by Amida and are being held in a laboratory at Luofan Academy."
"Besides this number, did Dr. Liou give you anything else?"
"She also gave
a letter, a letter requesting help from the Dongli Kingdom."
Su Ze heard the man on the other end take a deep breath before saying, "Please, you must keep that letter safe and be careful. I will contact you again later."
The call ended.
Su Ze decided to stay in Moli City for the ti being and wait for the next developnt.
In the afternoon, Su Ze and Mr. Ya went to the Moli City branch of Life Pharmaceutical to buy so evolution-related dicines.
Su Ze had been popping Strengthening Elixirs like candy, and he had almost run out. Although he wouldn’t be taking any more until he had fully digested the Mutated Giant Crocodile Extract, it was always good to stock up for later.
Body Health Digestive Pills were a miracle drug for helping digest extracts. Su Ze planned to buy a large supply this ti, hoping to digest all the accumulated Evolutionary Material in his body in one go.
Once inside the store, Su Ze casually asked, "Do you have any tonics that are more effective than the Strengthening Elixir?"
The sales associate replied, "The Strengthening Elixir is already the best nourishing dicine available for those at the Pupa Stage or below. Anything more effective would be a tonic for Cocoon Stage evolvers."
’A tonic for Cocoon Stage evolvers... can my body handle that?’ Su Ze pondered for a mont before buying two bottles of a milder one.
Su Ze felt that he couldn’t treat himself as an ordinary Pupa Stage individual. He had already absorbed an extract far above his level, so taking so dicine above his level shouldn’t be too much, right?
"What about the Body Health Digestive Pills? Is there a better alternative?" Su Ze asked again.
The sales associate said, "The Body Health Digestive Pills are our company’s star product. Among synthetic drugs, none are more effective. Only so natural dicines can surpass it, but their prices are many tis higher, so they aren’t very cost-effective."
Natural dicines were parts of Spiritual Plants that possessed various dicinal properties, like the Tree Marrow of a Spirit Root Tree.
Compared to synthetic drugs that could be mass-produced, the price of natural dicines was bound to be much higher.
After a mont’s thought, Su Ze said, "Take
to see them anyway."
Arriving at a high-end display case made of crystal, the sales associate introduced several of the natural dicines to Su Ze.
"This is the juice of a ’Ti Tree.’ One bottle contains ten milliliters, which is a single dose. Its effect is about twice that of a Body Health Digestive Pill, but its price is ten tis higher."
"This is a rootlet from a ’Child Ginseng.’ One rootlet can be divided into three doses. Its effect is equivalent to three tis that of a Body Health Digestive Pill, and its price is twenty tis higher."
"These are petals from a ’Future Flower.’ Their effect is five tis that of the Body Health Digestive Pills. As for the price, well, it’s about sixty tis higher, and we only accept paynt in points or through bartering with high-level Evolution Items."
Su Ze considered his options and bought one Child Ginseng rootlet, three bottles of Ti Tree Juice, and one bottle of Body Health Digestive Pills.
He didn’t buy a large quantity of the two natural dicines; he just wanted to get a little to test their effects.
Even so, he spent over twenty million!
Mr. Ya watched from the side, clicking his tongue in amazent. He had never been so extravagant. Every ti he bought evolution-related dicines, he always chose the most cost-effective, budget-friendly options.
After buying the dicine, Su Ze didn’t return to the hotel they had stayed in the previous night. Instead, he had Mr. Ya book the presidential suite at the most luxurious hotel in the city.
Since it had two bedrooms, he could take his dicine and "dance" in peace in his own room that night.
When they arrived at the hotel, Mr. Ya handled the check-in as usual, and then the two of them went to the suite. Mr. Ya, knowing his place, gave the larger master bedroom to Su Ze.
Su Ze closed his door, locked it from the inside, and prepared to go into seclusion.
But just then, the call from the Dongli Kingdom finally ca through.
