Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Braving Death to Live-stream the Saint-Level Great Battle
In the blink of an eye, three days had passed since Ye Muni arrived in ngka City.
On the surface, these three days had been calm, but in reality, ngka City was in an uproar. Ye Muni’s subordinates had swept through every hotel, inn, bar, and bathhouse in the city. The next step would likely be to search all the rental properties.
Ye Muni’s public explanation was that they were searching for any Tainted who might have slipped into the city.
Su Ze and the others had also caught wind of the situation. They knew the city was no longer a safe place to stay and were ready to bolt at a mont’s notice.
However, three sides of ngka City were surrounded by Ye Muni’s Lion Army. The only open route led toward the Black Rock Mountain Range. If Su Ze and the others were to flee, it seed their only option was to retrace their steps.
Over the past few days, Su Ze hadn’t slacked on his "dance practice." Thanks to his efforts, he had almost finished digesting the Undying Salamander extract. In another day or two, it should be completely absorbed.
Mrs. Yun’s injuries were recovering well, but she still hadn’t regained her full combat strength. If she had to fight now, she could probably only exert fifty percent of her power.
After finishing his daily dance routine as usual, Su Ze collapsed onto a chair, drenched in sweat. He picked up his phone and scrolled for a mont before speaking.
"This Mu Country and Luofan Country are all thunder and no rain. Their Saint-level powerhouses have been here for three days, but one is holed up in Heiyan City and the other is guarding ngka City. Both have chosen to stay put, showing no intention of taking the initiative. It’s making the online residents of both cities complain nonstop; they’re really unhappy about it."
Mrs. Yun smiled. "And what good will being unhappy do? Didn’t both sides issue statents explaining that the Black Rock Mountain Range isn’t in their territory? They’re only responsible for protecting their own lands."
Liou Wenxin analyzed, "Neither side ever intended to put in a real effort to kill Feng Bqing. You can tell just by looking at the Saint-level powerhouses they sent."
Luofan Country sent the newly ascended Saint, Ye Muni, not one of their powerful, veteran Saints. It was the sa for Mu Country. They didn’t send their strongest warrior, the Mu King, but an old, frail Saint nad Li Shangmao, who already has one foot in the grave.
Both countries understood that killing a Saint was easier said than done.
The evolvers of the Filth Earth Organization are almost never weak; they trade a vile stench for formidable combat power.
To kill Feng Bqing, you would need to dispatch at least two powerful Saints on the level of the Mu King, or three or more ordinary Saints, just to have a chance of success.
On top of that, they have to consider that the Filth Earth Organization could intervene at any mont. Even if Feng Bqing has gone mad, he’s still one of their elders. The organization would surely want to bring him back for recovery, not just stand by and watch him get surrounded and killed by others.
Therefore, to be safe, killing Feng Bqing would require dispatching four or five Saints.
You have to rember, Luofan Country and Mu Country each only have a handful of Saints—you could count them on two hands. They can’t just mobilize everyone to kill a single Feng Bqing!
Besides, what would they gain from killing Feng Bqing?
Killing a Tier-4 Evolved Beast at least yields extracts and various materials. What’s the payoff for killing Feng Bqing?
Neither country was willing to undertake such a thankless task. So, they each sent a single Saint to guard the border, settling in for a long wait. Their goal was to let the Filth Earth Organization deal with the Feng Bqing problem themselves.
"They can afford to play the waiting ga, but we can’t. We’re running out of ti." Su Ze held up his phone screen. "A couple of days ago, I joined a group for ’Mu Country Expats in ngka.’ A few people in the group are now saying their rental hos are being searched.
"These people are all renting in the northern part of the city, which ans the search started there. At this rate, they’ll reach us in two or three days at most. We need to co up with a plan."
Liou Wenxin’s expression turned worried. Two or three days wasn’t enough ti for Mrs. Yun to recover her strength. When the day ca, it seed their only choice would be to hide in the mountains.
"If it cos to that, I’ll just leave on my own," Su Ze said seriously. "I’m the one they’re looking for. There’s no need for you two to get dragged into this."
It was true that he had dragged Liou Wenxin and Mrs. Yun into this. Both Zhao Yuanyi and Ye Muni were after him.
Mrs. Yun shot him a glance. "Don’t forget, you’re one of our Dongli Kingdom people now."
Liou Wenxin added, "And we’re on the sa official register."
Mrs. Yun said, "Don’t dwell on it. Worst case, we’ll all hide in the Black Rock Mountain Range for a few days. Once I’ve recovered my strength, we’ll find a chance to break out."
Su Ze nodded and didn’t press the issue.
...
The two Saints, Ye Muni and Li Shangmao, both wanted to stall for ti, hoping the Filth Earth Organization would clean up its own ss.
But sotis, things don’t go as planned. The unexpected can happen in a flash.
Late that night, a trendous BOOM suddenly echoed from the direction of the Black Rock Mountain Range. It was like a thunderclap out of a clear sky, jolting the sleeping populace awake.
Imdiately after, the ground began to tremble. Tables and chairs wobbled slightly, accompanied by a cacophony of loud noises from the direction of the Black Rock Mountain Range.
"An earthquake?"
Su Ze scrambled out of bed and rushed into the courtyard, just in ti to see Liou Wenxin and Mrs. Yun run out as well.
"Look over there."
Following the direction Liou Wenxin’s finger was pointing, Su Ze saw a pillar of green Light of Evolution shoot into the sky over the distant Black Rock Mountain Range, illuminating half the heavens.
The intense sounds of clashes and various other loud noises all ca from that direction.
"Two Saints are fighting," Liou Wenxin said with certainty. Her Eye of Evolution skill had analyzed that the Light of Evolution was coming from two different life forms.
"Did Ye Muni or Li Shangmao go into the mountains?" Su Ze asked. "Even a fight between Saints shouldn’t cause this much of a commotion, should it?"
"One of them is almost certainly Feng Bqing, but the other one must be massive. It’s definitely not human," Liou Wenxin analyzed.
"If it’s not human, it must be an Evolved Beast. Don’t tell
there’s a Tier-4 Evolved Beast hiding in the Black Rock Mountain Range?"
Until now, no trace of a Tier-4 or higher Evolved Beast had ever been found in the Black Rock Mountain Range; the strongest were only Tier-3.
Mrs. Yun said, "It’s possible a Tier-3 Evolved Beast recently evolved to Tier-4."
The sounds of the battle lasted for less than ten minutes before stopping.
Not long after, an enraged roar suddenly erupted from ngka City. "Feng Bqing! If you dare set foot on Luofan territory, I swear I’ll make sure you never return!"
Imdiately after, a streak of green light shot across the sky, flying toward the Black Rock Mountain Range.
"I go where I please."
BOOM!
With a trendous bang that shook the sky, the two Saints clashed.
But after that one strike, the sky fell calm once more.
Su Ze turned to look at the two won beside him and saw them both craning their necks, gazing at the distant night sky with rapt attention.
Liou Wenxin had her Pupil Technique, and Mrs. Yun, having evolved three tis, had eyesight far beyond that of a normal person. Only Su Ze might as well have been blind. Between the great distance and the darkness, he couldn’t see a thing that was happening over there.
But he had a way around that.
Su Ze pulled out his phone and opened a streaming app. Sure enough, the title of the most popular local stream read: "Mr. Ya Outdoors: Risking My Life to Live-Stream the Saint Battle!"
