Chapter 162: Chapter 151: Incomplete Divine Grace of Evolution
Su Ze didn’t know how he’d left the smoking room, nor did he rember making his way back to his seat.
The academic conference was still in session, but all the voices around him sounded like the noisy chirping of cicadas, automatically filtered out by his brain.
He sat amidst the crowd, dazed and lost, his mind a complete blank.
He hadn’t expected a single conversation with Feng Boyi to be so packed with information. For a mont, he had no idea what to do next.
"What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?"
Prince Atago of the Great Desert, who was sitting beside Su Ze, noticed his ghastly expression and couldn’t help but ask.
"Oh... It’s nothing. It’s just a little stuffy in here. I’m going to step out for so air."
Su Ze left his seat again and went out into the empty corridor, where he began to pace back and forth.
Whenever he needed to think deeply, he had a habit of pacing like this, as if the motion helped him straighten out his thoughts.
’First, I need to determine whether what Feng Boyi said is true. I’ll have to go back and ask my sister about it. If there are any evolutionary loopholes in his story, she should be able to find them...’
Although Su Ze felt Feng Boyi had no reason to deceive him, it was better to be safe than sorry. He had to be cautious.
’Assuming everything Feng Boyi said is true, then I have two problems to deal with:’
’First, I have the reeking heart of a Foul One. Is there a way to cure it?’
’Second, my "Divine Grace of Evolution" skill is incomplete. I have to find a way to complete it.’
Su Ze took a deep breath. Even if what Feng Boyi said was true, that old man certainly didn’t have his best interests at heart.
The first problem wasn’t so bad. Even if he really had the heart of a Foul One, it didn’t really affect him in any tangible way. It was just... unsettling. He could take his ti figuring out a solution.
It was said that the stench of a Foul One was an incurable affliction, but Su Ze believed nothing was truly absolute. As long as his evolution level was high enough, anything was possible.
Besides, he wasn’t a true Foul One—he only had a heart transplanted from one. Surely that would be easier to cure than soone who was a Foul One through and through.
The key was the second problem: how to complete his Evolution Divine Grace Skill?
The only way to complete the Evolution Divine Grace Skill was to absorb a complete Bloodline Crystal. But as it stood, Su Ze had no idea where the other part of the Bloodline Crystal was.
The rest of the Bloodline Crystal was in Zhao Lingxiao’s corpse. But how had the body been disposed of?
Was he cremated or buried?
Had an extract even been taken from him?
Su Ze had no answers to any of these questions.
If he was buried, the rest of the Bloodline Crystal should have crystallized out of Zhao Lingxiao’s body by now and would be lying in his tomb.
If he was cremated, the Bloodline Crystal would have appeared right then and there... in which case, there was no telling who might have gotten their hands on it.
The only way to find answers was to follow the trail of Zhao Lingxiao’s corpse. But Mu Country was currently off-limits to Su Ze. He couldn’t set foot there, nor did he have the connections to investigate the matter from afar.
The Divine Grace of Evolution was the very foundation of his power. He could never abandon it.
Once he had the opportunity and the strength, he would definitely try to find the rest of the Bloodline Crystal.
’Looks like I’ll have to wait until I’m more powerful before I can figure sothing out.’
Su Ze’s thoughts couldn’t help but drift to the two other key figures in this affair: Zhao Yuanyi and the King of Mu.
’Zhao Yuanyi probably doesn’t know about any of this. He’s cunning, but his evolution level is a bit low. It’s perfectly normal that he’d be kept in the dark when it cos to high-level Evolution Items like the Bloodline Crystal.’
’As for the King of Mu... it’s hard to believe he’s completely ignorant. I just can’t see through him.’
Everything the King of Mu had done was too irrational. It just didn’t add up.
The Bloodline Crystal originally ca from the King of Mu, so it was impossible that he was unconcerned or uninford about it. According to Feng Boyi, the King of Mu had even sought out many people to try and absorb the special Bloodline Crystal in his possession.
Furthermore, after Princess Zhuzhi successfully absorbed it, the King of Mu began to dote on her.
This showed that the King of Mu placed great importance on that Bloodline Crystal.
But then why, after Zhao Lingxiao absorbed the extract from Princess Zhuzhi, did the King of Mu seem to forget the whole affair, showing no intention of reclaiming the Bloodline Crystal?
He could have easily killed Zhao Lingxiao and waited for the Bloodline Crystal to crystallize out.
Or could it be that he truly didn’t know about the clone scapegoat and was planning to retrieve the Bloodline Crystal after Zhao Lingxiao was executed?
Su Ze thought that was unnecessary. Given the King of Mu’s status in Mu Country, he could have killed Zhao Lingxiao directly without a trial, and no one would have dared to say a word.
Su Ze was certain of it: there was definitely sothing wrong with the King of Mu!
He even suspected that the Bloodline Crystal that had crystallized from Zhao Lingxiao’s corpse was already back in the King of Mu’s possession.
’If I were the King of Mu and I was holding an incomplete Bloodline Crystal, I would definitely want to make it whole... And the King of Mu knows I exist now. It wouldn’t be hard for him to guess that the other part of the Bloodline Crystal is inside .’
’Looked at that way, the King of Mu has plenty of reason to co after .’
’Still, I have a feeling it’s not that simple...’
Su Ze suddenly felt as if he had already been drawn into the King of Mu’s grand ga. He had once resolved to stay far away from Mu Country and its king, vowing never to set foot there lightly. But now, it seed a trip to Mu Country was inevitable.
For the sake of his Divine Grace of Evolution, for the sake of the Bloodline Crystal, he had to go to Mu Country.
Who knew what kind of trap that scheming old bastard, the King of Mu, was preparing for him?
There was no use overthinking it. Strength was the panacea for all problems. As long as he was strong enough to kill ten Kings of Mu with a single punch, he wouldn’t have to fear any of his sches... Su Ze readjusted his mindset and decided to focus on his own growth for now.
