December 8, 2011, Ling County Second Middle School.

In the early evening, students strolled in groups of two or three on the playground, the setting sun casting a warm glow over their shoulders, feeling quite cozy.

Teenagers brimming with youth wandered on the rubber track, chatting and laughing as they roughhoused.

The most eye-catching among them were three girls, their youthful faces and bodies starting to develop at thirteen or fourteen, clad in school uniforms, blooming like flower buds.

The mont they clasped hands and appeared on the track, they captured most of the playground’s attention.

The girl in the middle had long, naturally cascading hair and a graceful smile. She was the most developed of the three, her well-fitted school uniform unable to conceal her impressive bust.

The girl on the left had shoulder-length short hair, delicate features, and a gentle, charming smile. Even the unintentional gesture of brushing her hair could make the boys from afar glance repeatedly.

The girl on the right seed plain compared to the other two, as if playing the role of green leaves complenting the flowers. Yet, taken individually, she could also be called an elegant beauty.

At this age, most boys were shy and would close their mouths in embarrassnt and look away when they passed by these girls, only speaking softly with friends after they had walked away.

"Wasn’t that Liu ng from Class 3, second year?"

"What Liu ng, her na is Liew nglu."

"I rember you wrote her a love letter last ti, didn’t you?"

"Don’t talk nonsense, I didn’t, how could I..."

"She didn’t reply for a week, and I rember you borrowed money from to buy beer that ti."

"Bullshit, that never happened!"

"..."

"The one with short hair is probably Chen Na."

"So pretty, and she has a sister in elentary school."

"Are you interested in her sister in elentary school? You perv."

"No, I just saw her picking up her sister. She lives not far from ."

"Perv, are you even human?"

"?"

"..."

"What’s the na of the girl on the right?"

"I think it’s sothing like Qian...forget it, she’s not important."

"She looks average."

"I think she’s alright."

"You’ve got worse eyesight, get your mom to get you a new pair of glasses."

"...."

"nglu, do you think I should agree to that guy?"

The three much-talked-about girls were also chatting, and this question ca from the girl on the right, the unimportant "so Qian" ntioned by the boys.

In the middle, Liew nglu raised her brows gracefully: "Which one? The one who wanted to ask you to the movies from third year last ti?"

Chen Na looked troubled.

Hou Qianqian nodded proudly: "Yeah, I think he’s quite nice, tall, handso, and he plays basketball."

Liew nglu bit her pink lips: "Qianqian, there’s sothing I don’t know if I should say."

Hou Qianqian’s expression grew serious: "What? He doesn’t have a girlfriend, does he?"

Liew nglu looked at her sympathetically: "Not really, but he sent a love letter through soone yesterday."

Hou Qianqian froze, her face filling with resentnt: "That jerk!"

Chen Na hesitated before softly adding, "I think he wrote to too."

Hou Qianqian’s face went stiff.

So I’m the clown again?

Whenever a boy approached her, she always thought it was for her, but the truth was, their lines usually went like this:

"Hi, can you help give this love letter (gift) to Chen Na (Liew nglu)?"

Forget it, idiot!

Now, a boy finally asks her out, and just when she’s about to boast, it turns out he’s a serial dater!

Liew nglu comforted her: "Don’t be upset over soone like that. When we grow up, we’ll et the right person."

"Maybe, but right now, I just want to fall in love."

Hou Qianqian said bitterly. Ever since becoming friends with Liew nglu and Chen Na, she felt like she’d beco invisible to boys.

The boys, who didn’t appreciate inner beauty, had their eyes and minds fixed on her two friends, never on her.

Then, Hou Qianqian glanced at Liew nglu’s exaggerated bust: "Moreover, Nana and I haven’t grown up yet, but you already have."

She knew that in fifth or sixth grade, Liew nglu had a nickna—Cow.

Liew nglu, embarrassed, tickled her: "Hou Qianqian, you want to die!"

"Nana, don’t you agree? Every ti we go out, all the boys stare at her... Hahaha, ahh stop tickling... I’m dying of laughter, hahaha..."

The three frolicked on the playground, their laughter like the sound of music.

This scene drew frequent glances from the teenagers on the playground.

....

Chen Na and Hou Qianqian didn’t live at school and were going ho, while Liew nglu was heading back to her dorm. So after a couple of laps, they were ready to part ways.

"Nana, don’t forget to bring those buns tomorrow."

Liew nglu reminded with a smile.

Chen Na bead: "Got it, one at bun, one pickled veggie bun, and a cup of soy milk."

Hou Qianqian furrowed her brows slightly: "Tell the truth, nglu, did you grow so much because you drink soy milk every day?"

Liew nglu raised her chin proudly: "Well, you guys should try it then."

Hou Qianqian turned to Chen Na: "Try and you die, Nana, bring two cups of soy milk tomorrow."

Chen Na gave a helpless look: "Alright then."

She actually thought being too big wasn’t good; it made clothes look awkward and was cumberso.

Liew nglu returned to her dorm room, planning to take a shower before evening study. Just as she reached the door, she stopped, hearing voices inside.

"She’s more developed than my mom, always walking with her chest out, afraid the boys wouldn’t know she’s busty."

"Girls like that are usually flirty."

"Yeah, those boys are totally captivated by her."
