Half an hour later.
Teacher Lih gently got up, pulled out two tissues to lightly wipe her chest, her tomato-red cheeks looking like they could bleed if pinched. During the process, she cast a resentful glance at Shen Yuan.
The tissues didn't quite do the job, so she had to go into the restroom, dampen a cotton towel with warm water, and slowly clean herself off.
As for Shen Yuan, he lay comfortably in bed under a blanket and quickly drifted off to sleep, satisfied.
With nothing much going on in the afternoon, Shen Yuan took the two sisters out shopping. Lih Xiao still maintained her usual habit of checking the price first, then deciding whether the item was suitable, buying so clothes and accessories only as an afterthought.
Lih ng, however, wasn't so restrained. Price was of no concern to her; as long as the fit was good and it looked attractive on her, she'd swipe away, churning out purchase after purchase. In just a short ti, her hands were loaded with shopping bags, almost with an air of vindication.
Little did she know, the more she spent, the more Shen Yuan earned. His phone was buzzing with text ssages—the refund notifications from a triple cashback sche rolling in.
Lih Xiao even pulled her sister aside: "Alright, ngng, I think that'll do. Your brother-in-law's money doesn't grow on trees."
Shen Yuan couldn't help but laugh; the truth was his money might as well have been windblown.
"Your brother-in-law wouldn't sweat small amounts like this. This is just seventy or eighty thousand."
Lih ng lifted her delicate, almond-shaped face towards Shen Yuan: "Right, brother-in-law?"
Shen Yuan laughed: "Spend as much as you want, it's no problem. You could buy all the clothes and bags here and it still wouldn't be an issue."
Lih ng, feeling competitive, declared, "Then I'll spend half a million today!"
"No problem if you spend five million."
"?"
Lih ng had thought she'd see a pained look on Shen Yuan's face, but oddly enough, the more she ntioned spending, the more hyped he got. This left her feeling a little deflated.
"Forget it. More clothes and there'll be no space left in the wardrobe anyway."
Lih ng huffed, "Let's at least go to Balenciaga for so stockings. I go through them quickly."
As she said this, Lih ng stared straight at Shen Yuan, only for him to respond with a provocation: "Sure, while you're at it, grab so for your sister too. She's never worn stockings in front of ."
Lih Xiao didn't catch the undertone in her sister's statent. Since her sister was a flight attendant and often wore stockings, she just felt a bit shy and brushed her hair aside: "I don't wear stockings, just get them for Lih ng."
"They're not for you to wear. They're for to see."
With that, Shen Yuan hooked his arm around Lih Xiao's shoulder and walked off toward Balenciaga.
Lih ng glared at Shen Yuan's back, so furious that her teeth ached. She imdiately grabbed her phone and sent him a text: "You better co to my room tonight, I'm going to kill you!"
After finishing their shopping spree at Balenciaga, Shen Yuan only read the ssage when they were out for dinner.
When Lih Xiao went to the restroom, Shen Yuan sat next to Lih ng, leaned close to her ear, and whispered, "I hope you don't end up kneeling and begging tonight—'Brother-in-law, spare .'"
A sudden electric current surged around her ear and spread all over her body. Lih ng felt her entire body go numb. She recalled that image, and her body imdiately reacted, her thighs clamped tightly together.
Shen Yuan glanced at her trembling legs and chuckled. "No wonder you're XY-sensitive. One sentence and you're defenseless."
Lih ng gritted her teeth: "If you don't co tonight, you'll regret it!"
The three of them enjoyed a French al; Shen Yuan and Lih ng both indulged in so red wine, leaving Lih Xiao to drive them back.
Lih Xiao drove her own Porsche, with Lih ng in the passenger seat and Shen Yuan sitting alone in the back.
Lih ng's cheeks were flushed, her steps unsteady as she walked over to the car earlier. Even her safety belt had to be fastened by Lih Xiao. Shen Yuan mused—she'd only had two glasses, was her alcohol tolerance really that poor?
"Sis, I envy you so much," Lih ng murmured.
"Envy for what?" Lih Xiao kept her eyes on the road, adjusting her glasses.
"Envy you for having a brother-in-law. You have so many people who adore you, even… even his parents love you."
Lih Xiao smiled faintly. "You've never liked your brother-in-law much. Why would you envy for having him?"
"Him?"
Lih ng turned back to look at Shen Yuan, tilting her almond-shaped face to scrutinize him, the red blush deepening: "Hate him as I do, he's truly awful, truly scummy, but… sotis, he's insanely captivating."
Lih Xiao couldn't help glancing at Lih ng: "You wouldn't happen to…"
Lih ng smirked mischievously: "Hehe, did I scare you, sis? I was just teasing you."
"Dummy."
Lih Xiao breathed a sigh of relief. Right, ngng had never really cared for Shen Yuan from the beginning. This sort of thing couldn't possibly happen.
Shen Yuan felt a bit tense internally but maintained a calm deanor outwardly.
For crying out loud, two glasses of what essentially horse piss, and they're walking the tightrope now?
Excellent.
Shen Yuan played it off by giving Lih ng's shoulder a comforting pat: "Your happiness isn't far away. Who knows, maybe it'll co to you tonight."
Lih Xiao, oblivious to what was happening, simply found the remark amusing: "Even if ngng's happiness is arriving soon, it's not likely to happen tonight."
Lih ng blinked: "Hehe, sothing major's happening tonight."
Lih Xiao looked confused: "What major thing?"
Afraid Lih ng would say sothing outlandish, Shen Yuan interjected: "What ngng ans is she's decided to turn over a new leaf and beco a classy lady tonight. Then she'll have her own happiness, just like you do."
"Is that true, ngng?" Lih Xiao asked.
Lih ng huffed: "Kind of, not really."
The topic shifted here because the car was slightly rocking, and Lih ng soon fell asleep.
Once they reached the parking lot, Shen Yuan carried her up. In the elevator, Lih Xiao apologized: "Shen Yuan, sorry about this. I didn't know ngng's alcohol tolerance was so bad. Don't mind what she said earlier, okay?"
"Mind what? I'm her brother-in-law; we're all family."
Speaking as he walked, Shen Yuan sneaked a couple of pats onto Lih ng's backside.
