Eryndor took out a piece of paper from his pocket.

It had a warning written on it, addressed to Ken and Hellen.

During the next hour, he took extre care in the way he delivered it to Ken through Telekinesis.

It was difficult, truly. Eryndor had no idea how Liliana’s surveillance cultivation art worked, nor how far its range was.

So he didn’t bother following them to warn them or sothing of the sort. He was just grateful that both of them had saved him from critical injuries multiple tis, and this was the least he could do for them.

They were in the middle of a fight, with Ken and Hellen confronting a single beast, while Liliana battling another stronger one alone at a distance away from them.

It was sudden, very quick.

Ken’s surveillance spell couldn’t have picked up on such a small incoming object, but his eyes caught sight of it despite being in the middle of battle as it floated just before him.

It was simply a tiny white folded paper. When Ken read what was written on it, his eyes narrowed.

He instantly approached Hellen and picked her up in his arms.

Retreating away from the beast, he yelled out loud to Liliana.

"Hellen’s wounds have opened up, I am taking her back to the spaceship!"

The woman replied back, her voice similarly loud.

"This is NOT the protocol when soone is injured. Ken stay back, or you’ll get no mission rewards!"

Ken shouted, already heading towards the base. "We don’t care, you can have it all."

Liliana taunted, her voice sharp as they reached the ears of the couple.

"Fucking disgraces. Just what else could I have expected from people under that rat."

Veins popped up on Ken’s head, but he kept quiet, and instructed Hellen to do the sa.

Liliana attempted to retreat alongside them but the weaker beast blocked her way, consuming her ti.

"Be quiet, we are going back to the spaceship."

Hellen hadn’t seen the white paper, so she was confused.

"What’s going on? And can you put down? I can run by myself."

Ken shot her a grin.

"No, I am carrying you. You are supposed to be injured."

She rolled her eyes at him.

"Nice excuse you’ve found yourself. Now tell what’s going on."

Ken told her about how a folded paper had floated before his eyes.

"The paper ntioned that Liliana was very likely planning to kill us. It should’ve been obvious by now but I didn’t want to take any wild guesses.

"Also, it was written in the paper to not tell boss Calix. Whoever it is who sent the paper doesn’t want to alert the enemy.

"And lastly, they want to et us on the 4th planet, we will be notified of the location in the coming week."

Hellen had a complicated expression on her face. "I don’t know how to feel about Liliana, my brother always said Liliana wouldn’t be an enemy.

"No matter how many disagreents there were, she was indeed leading the group fairly, and didn’t seem too bad.

"I just hate her because she took the position my brother had been working towards for years."

Ken looked ahead, his expression a mask of confusion.

"I don’t know either. Boss Calix has always been a good judge of people’s character. In fact, I’ve never witnessed him being incorrect."

Before Hellen could say sothing, Ken continued while looking ahead, his legs still running nonstop to reach the base.

"In the end it is true, people do change."

Eryndor felt the urgency to upgrade his Sovereign’s Cloak more than ever.

Just earlier, around forty percent of the Cloak’s capacity to resist attacks was consud.

Eryndor thought hard all this ti and finally ca up with a guess which could explain the earlier phenonon.

What if she was accumulating?

In certain types of arts and spells, they completed the attack through a series of moves.

The skills of this type had build up attacks which were always unnoticeable until the final step, when it would erupt explosively,

If so, Eryndor wouldn’t get caught up in the final attack since his Sovereign’s Cloak would be dismantling all the build up ntal attacks.

However, he didn’t want to bet his safety on that.

He would work hard to upgrade his Sovereign’s Cloak.

For the next few hours, Eryndor left a trail of carcasses wherever he went, making quick work of the beasts with his cultivation arts.

He would always make sure to use Cognitive Scrying before killing the beasts, but he felt that his progress in this aspect was incredibly slow.

Would it be faster if I use it on conscious beings? Later I guess. These beasts are still helping Cognitive Scrying progress however less it is.

After a couple hours more, he finally felt a change in one of the two things he was pushing to upgrade.

The Sovereign’s Cloak which he had on him felt like it was heating up.

Eryndor didn’t want to miss the process of upgrading.

After finding a secluded place, he further covered himself until he was completely hidden and accessed the Mind Palace.

In the room where Sovereign’s Cloak was situated, he beheld the item on the altar.

The Sovereign’s Cloak was trembling as the golden runes etched on it flared, their glow intensifying until the light beca blinding.

The fabric of Cloak darkened, what was already deep black now felt like an abyssal void that seed to swallow the light around it.

There was a strange, weird, chaotic sense of harmony between the runes which seed to exude endless light and the fabric which consud all light.

A faint ripple passed through the cloak as the transformation settled. Everything about it suddenly returned to how it had previously been.

Its presence exuded an undeniable sense of authority and dominion, before going still.

Wow.

He only exclaid, excitent and awe visible in his eyes.

Without wasting any extra ti, he switched back to his physical body to try out the now upgraded Sovereign’s Cloak.

Coming out of hiding, he focused for a mont and instantly felt the Cloak draping over him.

It certainly felt more powerful than before.

Eryndor wondered if the Cloak would’ve transford if he was an Eldritch Entity.

As soon as he had that thought, the thought about being an Eldritch Entity, his presence shifted.

The feeling of his existence becoming heavier appeared. The one he felt a week ago.

It reappeared, this ti with more clarity. He felt more of himself.

Everything suddenly seed slow. Maybe because he was in a static room last ti that he didn’t notice, but out in the open, he could distinctly sense it.

The runes which he had hidden on the Cloak to not attract attention suddenly beca visible once more, exposing to the naked eye the entire glory of the Sovereign’s Cloak.

Eryndor felt his emotions dampening, as he was aware of the fact the excitent he should have felt about this transformation was far less than what he would normally feel.

Eryndor couldn’t see it himself, but if soone else gazed at the area above his head, they would be able to make out a faint shape of a majestic crown.

So this is sothing like my second form now?

Eryndor brought up his hands and thought. It certainly felt far more powerful.

He felt that he could control all his abilities to their highest mastery.

But there was a problem, all his powers related to cultivation suddenly felt a bit difficult to use.

It was just like how his Eldritch abilities felt difficult to use normally.

The roles were switched.

Which ans I’ll have to practice more from now on.
