-------------------------------------------------------------

Within an unknown space, the majestic and eerie Hall of Yama ceaselessly drifted through the gray mist, shifting unpredictably.

Though the hall itself was vast, it still felt sowhat crowded due to the gathering of every mber of the Uchiha clan, past and present.

And this was only because those who had failed to beco shinobi—ordinary people—had long since reincarnated.

Indra stood atop the high platform where King Yama resided, gazing down at his idle descendants with a slight headache, his brow furrowing.

"Father," his eldest son cautiously stood by his side, "are they being too noisy?"

"It’s nothing." Indra glanced at his eldest son, whose face was lined with deep wrinkles, and imdiately averted his gaze, unable to bear the sight. "Go. You don’t need to stay here either."

"Yes."

His eldest son imdiately retreated from the platform as if granted amnesty.

"Tch."

Indra watched his eldest son’s slightly hunched back but ultimately couldn’t bring himself to reprimand him.

"Senior Indra, what troubles you?"

Kaito suddenly appeared before King Yama’s throne, smiling gently.

"So, you’ve finally shown yourself?"

Indra spoke irritably, sweeping his robes aside as he sat down on the floor.

"My apologies for keeping you waiting."

Kaito walked unhurriedly to sit across from him.

Indra gave him a glance and snorted through his nose.

"There was much to handle, and I never had the chance to properly speak with you," Kaito continued, ignoring his attitude. "Thank you for bringing our clansn’s souls out of the Pure Land."

"Thank ?" Indra frowned. "Spare such ridiculous words."

Kaito imdiately understood and spoke earnestly, "Yes, all Uchiha are your descendants by blood. Naturally, you should stand with us."

"Hah." Indra sneered. "Save the pretty words, brat. What I do requires no explanation."

’This ancestor of ours is truly hard to please.’ Kaito silently grumbled in his heart.

"Regardless, as a junior, I still wish to express my gratitude." Kaito bowed slightly.

"What is it you want?"

Indra leaned forward slightly, his piercing gaze locking onto Kaito’s eyes.

"Tell ," he enunciated slowly, "about that ambition of yours—so vast that even this planet cannot contain it."

"You overestimate ." Kaito smiled "shyly." "My ambitions aren’t quite that inflated."

"Close enough. You still haven’t explained what you did to my grandmother last ti." Indra straightened back up.

"A mark," Kaito said.

Indra frowned. "Elaborate."

"It relates to two different dōjutsu that share the sa na—Izanami."

Kaito adjusted his wide sleeves.

Indra caught on. "The dōjutsu possessed by that girl nad Uchiha Chiri?"

"Yes." Kaito nodded.

"Ahahahahaha—" Indra burst into laughter, unable to contain himself. "To think... the true Izanami would actually appear!"

"What do you an?" Kaito asked.

"I know later generations developed the genjutsu Izanagi, which sacrifices one eye," Indra tapped his right eye, "but this is the real Izanami."

Kaito was montarily stunned before realization dawned. "I see."

"I’ve never used the true Izanami myself," Indra said. "I imagine Chiri was the sa."

"Correct." Kaito nodded. "The conditions for its use are far too stringent. Chiri never had the opportunity. In the end, she created another genjutsu to counter Izanagi, also naming it Izanami."

Indra chuckled inexplicably. "So, you intend to use my grandmother as a sacrifice for the true Izanami."

"Yes." Kaito didn’t deny it. "What are your thoughts?"

"What thoughts do you expect to have?" Indra smirked mockingly.

"It seems you have no objections." Kaito understood.

"That old man was scared witless by Grandmother," Indra suddenly said darkly. "And because my appearance and temperant resemble hers, he’s always held a grudge against ."

He sneered again. "I’d love to see the look on his face when the ti cos."

’That’s an exaggeration. The Sage of Six Paths wasn’t scared witless. He just didn’t want you to pursue power to the point of extremism.’ Kaito internally refuted but kept his expression neutral.

"Speaking of which," he asked gently, "why did you suddenly abandon your thousand-year plan? Your reincarnated chakra still resides within Sasuke, does it not?"

"That old man never truly ant harm to this planet," Indra unexpectedly defended the Sage.

"Oh?" Kaito voiced his curiosity.

"He only ever wanted to protect it."

Indra continued, "Initially, he spread chakra to humanity so that ordinary people could gain strength. Even though Grandmother was sealed and Isshiki vanished, the Ōtsutsuki clan could return. Humanity needed the power to resist them. At the sa ti, the philosophy of Ninshū was about connection. He wanted all shinobi to unite through chakra. That’s why he chose Asura as his successor. Even he himself, after entrusting everything to the next generation, chose to live and die as a human."

Kaito listened quietly.

"Yet, over the long years, he realized the world had not improved. The more people gained power, the more chaotic the world beca."

’Wasn’t this initially caused by you and Asura?’ Kaito’s eyes rcilessly conveyed the jab.

Indra’s face darkened. "Do you truly believe the endless wars among shinobi were my and Asura’s doing?"

Kaito shook his head. "Even without you two, the world would never have known peace. This has nothing to do with whether shinobi possess power. As long as humans harbor desires, war will never cease."

"That old man eventually realized this too," Indra suddenly laughed again. "The Sage of Six Paths was just that—a sage. He never truly understood human nature."

Kaito smiled faintly but offered no comnt.

"Using love to create peace—what a naïve notion." Indra chuckled. "Those who gathered around him didn’t do so out of love. Beneath the veneer of affection lay self-interest. It was only because he was the Sage of Six Paths."

"So, when the Sage realized his original ideals were unattainable, he decided to protect the planet himself?" Kaito surmised.

"Precisely. Only an Ōtsutsuki can oppose an Ōtsutsuki. At so point, he ca to believe this." Indra grinned in amusent. "But then, a freak like you suddenly erged and completely derailed his plans."
