Ji Shuang’s entire body tensed as she stood amidst the wreckage of battle and her sharp gaze flickered between the trembling body of her father... who was barely regaining his composure after being released, and the unconscious figures of Zhao Tian and Yao Jing, still held hostage just beyond her reach.
Her mind was already calculating the worst possible scenario.
If anything happened to Zhao Tian, the consequences would be far beyond her control.
Because the Heavenly One would co.
If she so much as heard that her most prized existence, her most treasured possession, had been hard under Ji Shuang’s watch…
The Jade Eclipse Sect would cease to exist.
That was why she didn’t hesitate to hand over the Brynnhilder.
She had made her choice.
Yet, despite that, one question still haunted her.
’How did they find out about his physique?’
Her fingers curled into fists as she suppressed the wave of anger rising within her.
This was not the ti to think about that.
Right now, she need to focus. She need to get Zhao Tian and Yao Jing back.
And so, with a cold glare, she turned her attention back to Rhudamanth.
The vampire, still enthralled by the weapon in his grasp, was running his fingers along the Brynnhilder’s gleaming edge, inspecting every curve of its craftsmanship.
Ji Shuang’s voice cut through the air "Now, let them go too."
"Yeah, yeah…" Rhudamanth muttered dismissively, as though it were nothing more than an afterthought.
SWOOSH
Suddenly, a small red portal materialized beside him and its edges pulsed as it began to expand.
Ji Shuang’s heart clenched as realization struck her.
He was trying to flee.
Damn it!
Without a second thought, her body moved, and her hand shot forward as her fingers clamped down around Rhudamanth’s wrist just as he was about to step into the portal.
Rhudamanth’s expression flickered from confidence to sheer disbelief.

What?!
Ji Shuang’s eyes narrowed as she tightened her grip, her nails digging into his flesh.
"Did you really think you could leave so easily?"
"I handed you the Brynnhilder without resistance because I knew…"
"That I can take it back from you anyti I want."
Rhudamanth’s pupils contracted sharply in surprise ’This damn woman...’
For the first ti—he was the one caught off guard.
But-
He refused to be outplayed.
His hesitation lasted only a split second before his instincts kicked in.
A dagger materialized in his free hand and without the slightest hesitation—
SLEESH!
Rhudamanth sliced through his own wrist.
The severed flesh tore apart instantly, and Ji Shuang barely had ti to react before his entire body flickered, vanishing into the portal just as it collapsed in on itself.
Gone.
Damn it.
Her breath ca out in a sharp exhale as she stared down at the severed wrist still clutched in her grasp, blood dripping from its exposed flesh.
And there is also the Brynnhilder clutched in that severed palm.
Lifting her gaze to the sky, her sharp eyes narrowed as she saw what was happening above.
They were retreating.
The red portal in the sky, more stable than the one Rhudamanth had used—was shrinking as its swirling depths pulled the enemy forces upward.
The ark had already begun their ascent, slipping away from the Jade Eclipse Star’s atmosphere.
They were leaving.
They were taking Zhao Tian and Yao Jing with them.
No.
Her target was the largest ark.
The one where Zhao Tian was.
"Damn bastard…"
"Is Zhao Tian more important than Brynnhilder to them?"
Ji Shuang’s entire body beca a blur as she launched herself forward, her figure streaking across the battlefield,
Her fingers curled into claws as lightning crackled violently around her body.
*THOOOM* Her body collided with the massive ark with a force so cataclysmic that the entire vessel shuddered under the impact.
The sound of tal warping and screeching filled the air as the hull buckled beneath her raw power and the sheer magnitude of her strike sent ripples of destructive energy throughout the structure.
Without hesitation, she tore her way into the ark, her hands ripping apart reinforced steel like it was re parchnt.
The corridors of the ark were dimly illuminated by an eerie crimson glow and the ergency lighting flickered as the ship’s stability faltered under her unrelenting assault.
Her sharp eyes darted across the interior, in search of any sign of Zhao Tian or Yao Jing.
She stord through chambers lined with containnt units, past control rooms.
There were many Vampires stood in her way, but she tore through them effortlessly searching the ark.
Where were they?
Her breath ca out ragged and her patience was thinning as frustration clawed at her mind.
This was the ark that should have carried them. This was where they should have been. And yet... they are not here.
Had she miscalculated? Had they been moved to another location?
The thought ignited a fresh wave of anger and her energy surged as she unleashed another devastating blast.
A shockwave tore through the ship’s core as another section of the ark collapsed in on itself.
Sparks rained from the shattered control panels, as the sound of alarms wailed.
They weren’t here.
They had never been here.
A bitter taste filled her mouth as the truth dawned upon her and her fingers curled so tightly that her nails dug into her palms, drawing thin streaks of blood.
’I think they already moved Zhao Tian and Yao Jing before the negotiation even began... Then its a waste of ti.’
’No.. Their first plan should be to get Brynnhilder by keeping my father as hostage...’
Her gaze narrowed in thought ’The mont they found out about Tian’s physique, they abducted him... and their plans changed.’
’Shit, Shit.. I quickly need to go and rescue him.’
Her eyes trembled as she rembered Qian Shi’s words ’Take care of him for ...’
His calm sleeping flashed in her mind and her heart churned in pain ’Wait a bit Tian... and Jing’er. I will be there right now.’
