The words of the Earl struck like a heavy hamr, fiercely impacting the heart of the young Earl.

Normally, he could sense his father’s dislike for him.

But this was the first ti he had been scolded to his face.

The young Earl’s lips were tightly pressed, his teeth clenched, and a hint of madness flickered in his eyes.

His body began to struggle violently, completely disregarding the sharp dagger in Shi Shi’s hand that was pressed against his delicate throat.

Shi Shi had thought this pretty boy was rely a paper tiger, but he suddenly erupted with such astonishing strength.

Her arm was shaken by the young Earl’s struggles, and the dagger drew a shallow cut across his neck.

However, the young Earl seed to no longer care about these things, his eyes only filled with the determination to break free, and his mouth emitted low and angry growls.

Shi Shi felt a hint of panic, she hadn’t expected the young Earl to be so reckless.

Caught off guard, Shi Shi didn’t think too much.

Her movent was almost instinctual, as she plunged the dagger into the young Earl’s throat, burying it completely.

This move, from among the Awei Eighteen Forms... colloquially known as "deep throat."

Bright red blood instantly sprayed from the young Earl’s neck, staining Shi Shi’s arm and splashing onto her face.

The scent of blood perated the air, carrying with it a strangely beautiful quality.

But, surprisingly, the Earl and his wife didn’t show any signs of discomfort.

Their gaze was cold, as if they were not watching their son’s life ebbing away, but rather sothing like a re mouse, no, like an ant.

The young Earl’s struggles gradually weakened, the madness in his eyes slowly fading away, replaced by deep despair and disbelief.

His fingers weakly gripped Shi Shi’s wrist, seeming to want to say sothing, but ultimately only weak gurgling sounds ca out.

The young Earl’s body collapsed to the ground, blood continuing to pour from his neck.

However, at that mont, a scene that left everyone present dumbfounded occurred.

The young Earl’s body suddenly shook a few tis, and then he, incredibly, with trembling fingers, pressed against his blood-spraying neck.

The body, which should have been devoid of life, unbelievably stood up again.

The expressions of the Earl and his wife bore no surprise, as if everything was within their expectations.

The movents of the young Earl were exceptionally slow, his fingers tightly pressed against his neck to stop the blood from continuing to flow.

Jiang Xiao and Shi Shi glanced at each other, both aware that this was not sothing a human could accomplish.

Could it be that the Earl’s family was not human, but so kind of species with self-healing abilities?

Although the young Earl’s face was pale, his steps were remarkably resolute as he walked to his parents’ side and stood under their protection.

Gone were the prior arrogance and anger in his eyes, replaced by a deep calmness and indifference.

The Countess gently stroked her son’s hair, her eyes revealing a hint of satisfaction, as if applauding her son’s perseverance.

Huh?

Jiang Xiao was still puzzled about what species they were.

Suddenly, the young Earl’s canine teeth began to grow longer, extending beyond the thickness of his lower lip.

"This is..."

This damn thing is the legendary vampire, isn’t it?

No wonder the transformations of the Earl and his wife gave Jiang Xiao a sense of familiarity.

Now, seeing the young Earl’s teeth grow out, everything made sense.

In the castle of the Middle Ages.

I think we should just stop here...

"Vampire? Dad! They seem like vampires!"

The word "vampire" evidently made the faces of the Earl’s family turn sowhat ugly.

"We are of noble royal bloodline, haha, what would you lowly commoners know?"

"Isn’t that still a vampire?" Shi Shi muttered under her breath.

"Royalty! Don’t you understand? Bloodline, ah! How is royalty’s affair terd ’vampire’? Do you know what a noble bloodline ans? We are pure-blooded royalty!"

Uh...

Shi Shi looked at Jiang Xiao with pleading eyes because she really didn’t know anything about bloodlines...

Facing his daughter’s curious gaze, Jiang Xiao, as a father, naturally couldn’t remain silent, at the very least he had to pretend, right?

"Cough, well, foreigners, it seems like they indeed have this concept of bloodline, like Prince William the First and Second, Queen Elizabeth I and II and such."

Hearing Jiang Xiao’s acknowledgnt of their revered bloodline, a proud look flashed across the faces of the Earl’s family.

What else?

It’s not like he could introduce his own bloodline as being very great and then ramble on extensively?

It’s better for soone else to start that kind of mutual business flattery.

"Haha, who would have thought, you lowly commoner actually have so knowledge. Later on, I might allow you to die with dignity."

Regarding the Earl’s words, Jiang Xiao was noncommittal and leisurely added,

"But in our great Dragon Country, there might be ranks in professions, education, and even appearances, but never does anyone brag about their bloodline being superior, oh, except for so remnants of the late Qing dynasty, Shi Shi, do you know why?"

"Why?"

"Not to ntion in our history of five thousand years, everyone’s ancestors have seen better days at so point. Speaking of this ’bloodline’ thing, we only use it referring to animals, like purebred Tibetan Mastiffs and mixed-breed dogs and the like."

Jiang Xiao said with a smile, his thoughts on "bloodline" completely unconcerned by the Earl whose face had now turned the color of liver.

"You should die!"

The Earl’s roar echoed through the ancient castle, his form like a streak of black lightning, instantaneously breaking through the air’s constraint, lunging at Jiang Xiao.

anwhile, his hands began to transform, his fingertips sprouting sharp, blade-like claws carrying the scent of death and the force of decay.

Yet, the smile on Jiang Xiao’s face didn’t diminish one bit, his eyes twinkled with a cunning light.

Just as the Earl’s claws were about to touch his face, Jiang Xiao’s body gently shifted, dodging the deadly strike.

Then his palm flipped, his fingers curled like hooks, channeling all his strength, eting the Earl’s attack.

The movents of the two were as fast as lightning, almost making it impossible for bystanders to catch their figures.

Shi Shi and the young Earl were all gaping at the unimaginable duel before them.

They had never imagined, a re human could contend with a Vampire Count to this extent.

What the heck?

Since when did dad beco so powerful?

If Shi Shi had known how strong he was, she wouldn’t have been sneaking around, she would have smashed the castle already!

Like right now, holding the still bleeding young Earl by the neck and giving him a brutal beating.

The young Earl who was acting tough just minutes ago now had his face sared with snot and tears.

As for the Countess...

She no longer had ti to look after the young Earl, her mind as delicate as silk - how could she not notice her husband was at a disadvantage?

The mont the two clashed, the Countess had already gone out to gather people for a siege.
