I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL] Chapter 82: Back Home

With Vivi’s condition rapidly improving and no complications arising, she and Felix were able to get discharged from the hospital a week later. They returned to Silverfall with Kade and Fen, while all the baby things they had bought were taken by the guards. After all, fancy as Kade’s car was, it had one serious disadvantage - that is, limited space in the trunk. Since Felix insisted on taking the back seat to be next to his daughter, and Kade didn’t want to make him squeeze in with all the boxes and bags, he moved everything to the guards’ car. They had to return to Silverfall with them anyway, so it made no difference.

The only problem was Remi. Kade didn’t want to allow the fox in his car, while Felix wouldn’t agree to let him go with the guards, so they argued about it for quite a while, as they stood on the hospital’s parking lot. In the end, they’ve co to a compromise: Remi was allowed to co with them, as long as he wouldn’t climb onto Felix’s lap...

Which he did anyway, just a few minutes in, before they even drove out of the city. Kade threatened to throw him out of the window if he didn’t co back down, but it only made Remi dive underneath Felix’s shirt! Kade then released his pheromones, trying to suppress the fox, to which Remi countered with his own jasmine fragrance... Turning the whole car into a pheromone display, which made Felix almost suffocate from the intensity of the scents, while Vivi cried out loud...

They had to stop eventually, just outside the city, and leave all the doors of the car wide open to air it out, while they went to grab a light lunch. After that, Remi got forced into the pet carrier that one of the guards bought in the anti. Felix didn’t oppose, for a change, as he was also angry (although just a little, tiny bit) at the fox for misbehaving so much. He wanted to have peace for the rest of the way back!

And with Remi locked up, he managed to get just that. Although he felt bad about it, when he heard the fox’s pitiful whimpering, still clearly audible even with the radio Kade had turned on, at least the road wasn’t long. Just over an hour later, they arrived in Silverfall, parking right in front of Felix’s house, and Remi was imdiately set free.

"Huh, it changed quite a lot in here," Kade noted with surprise, as they went inside, carrying all the stuff they brought in. It’s been over a month since he had a chance to get a look, as the last ti he was in Silverfall, only the squirrel-like doctor and her driver moving the dical equipnt were allowed in. Thus, the last ti he saw the place, it was before the walls were repainted and the new flooring installed...

It still looked cheap and poor, of course, far below what Kade thought was appropriate for his mate, but at least it was more... livable. Sowhat acceptable. Barely, but that was still progress. If there was one thing that needed an imdiate change...

All of a sudden, his calves were smacked with a tail, as Remi passed by him, heading straight toward the bedroom. Then, he jumped onto Felix’s bed, and curled up into a ball, ignoring everyone, still sulking about the treatnt he had suffered in the car.

Right, that was it! That damned fox! Even though the house stood empty for over a week, the scent of the fox still hung heavily in the air, even more intense than Felix’s own! As if it were the fox who owned the place!

But Kade knew better than to complain about it. He already knew that in the battle for Felix between him and the fox... He would be the one to lose. At least for the ti being. The Oga was very attached to his ’pet’, while guarded against Kade, thus the Alpha had to remain cautious. It was better to learn to tolerate the fox, no matter how that sneaky creature annoyed Kade, than to be chased away.

So, he just let out a sigh, releasing his pheromones - just a little bit, to suppress the annoying scent, but not too much as not to anger Felix - and moved on to assemble the crib. He could have left it to the guards, since they were busying around anyway, bringing all the stuff in, but he wanted to do this much himself, as Vivi’s father (-to-be), and to show Felix that he was a dependable Alpha, who could do much more than just swipe his card!

"You don’t need to do that," Felix stepped in, trying to stop him. "I can do that myself."

But Kade just shook his head. "You take care of Vivi, and leave the rest to !" he said, flashing a wide grin, as if he was doing sothing amazing. Even though it was just a crib, it honestly wasn’t all that complicated! It was all assembled within minutes. Kade considered taking longer to get it done, so that he wouldn’t have to leave so soon, but in the end, he didn’t want to look incompetent in front of Felix, so he set it up... And left the Oga alone, to get so peace and quiet.

Just for the ti being, of course. He was going to stay in Silverfall, and co back to visit (read: bother) Felix soon.

Back then, Kade still didn’t know about the thoughts in Felix’s head... That his ’cute little mate’ was planning to convince him to leave in (almost) any way possible. Or, well, he stubbornly dismissed it, even though Felix had been vocal about his desire to break their bond right from the start.

He could tell that Felix had been more serious, more withdrawn the past few days, but he had just given birth, and was focusing on his pup, so perhaps that was normal. Besides, since his visit to the Moonhill Pack, Kade understood his little Oga better. Why Felix was so reluctant to get together with him, despite their mate bond and the attraction between them - which, regardless of what Felix said, was most certainly not one-sided, Kade could tell from Felix’s eyes and his body language that the Oga didn’t find him as displeasing as he claid... As long as he stuck by Felix’s side, and tried his best to woo him, with ti, he would undoubtedly succeed.

Or so he thought. Or wanted to believe.

Even when Felix ssaged him a few days later, asking him to co over so that they could have a serious conversation, he still refused to consider that his cute little mate... had no plans to accept him.
