Felix pushed the needle into the stitch, wrapped the yarn around, pulled the needle down, pushed it into the loop, and pulled the needle off.

And repeat. Push, wrap, pull, push, pull.

And again. Push, wrap, pull...

The stitch slipped off the needle, and Felix just stared at it blankly.

...Was there any point in doing all that?

He put his ’project’ down with a sigh. It looked... hideous. While his skills had improved from when he first started, they were still horrendous.

At this rate, he couldn’t hope to possibly sell any of his creations. Rather than a source of inco, all that knitting beca for Felix was a waste of money, thrown away on the wool. He didn’t particularly enjoy it either, it was about as interesting as doing chores.

Perhaps it was ti to try sothing else. Maybe pottery? It seed like sothing that might sell. If it was any good, of course.

He should start looking it up online tomorrow, to check what he might need, so that he would be able to start soon. If he were to do it, he needed to get good as soon as possible... Because once his pregnancy progressed, he eventually wouldn’t be able to work in Crossroads anymore, and would lose his source of inco.

Right, his pregnancy.

Felix pushed the abandoned Goddess-knows-what aside, and dragged himself up, walking up to the old, scratched-up large standing mirror. Then, he pulled his sweater off, lowered his pants to his thighs, and turned to the side, straightening his back as he examined his stomach.

There... was a bump visible.

It was still very small, barely there. But, with Felix’s slender, skinny even, fra, it looked out of place. Much more pronounced than it should. If Kade were to catch a sight of it... Would Felix be able to dismiss it as bloating? Or that he overate, so his stomach was sticking out?

Maybe.

But maybe Kade would get suspicious, and end up bringing that squirrel-like doctor again. Or force Felix to do blood tests. Felix wouldn’t put it past him.

And that was sothing Felix couldn’t afford.

Biting his lip anxiously, he turned around, observing his stomach from different angles... When all of a sudden, his gaze t with a pair of piercing blue eyes, reflected in the mirror.

Remi was staring right at him. All while Felix was shirtless. And with his pants lowered. Sure, he still had his underwear on, but...

"You perverted fox!" His cheeks flushing lightly, Felix threw the first thing he grabbed at Remi. Which was a bad choice, because now he had no sweater to cover up his torso! "What are you doing, watching like that?!"

The sweater fell right on Remi’s head, covering up his eyes. Just for a mont though, because the fox quickly removed the unwanted obstruction of his view. And then, continued to watch Felix shalessly.

"Stop that right now!" Felix pulled up his pants, and snatched back the discarded sweater. "Or you’ll be sleeping outside!"

Remi only snorted with indignation, unfazed by the threat. As if Felix would (or could) stop him from claiming the bed! Still, he averted his gaze until Felix put the sweater back on. Or at least pretended to do so, because he still was throwing furtive glances, catching a few more glimpses of Felix’s pale skin before it disappeared under the thick material.

"Where were you earlier, anyway?" Felix asked, much calr, as he threw himself on the bed, and extended his hand to rub Remi’s soft head. "Kade was here again, and there was no one to help chase him away!"

Remi’s eyes twitched, and he swished his tail with annoyance, expressing his disapproval. ’How dare so wolf invade ’his’ house?’ was likely what he thought. He curled up right by Felix’s side, enjoying the pets... But his eyes continued to drift to the Oga’s stomach.

Until eventually, he put his front paw on top of Felix’s abdon, and tilted his head, eting Felix’s gaze.

For a mont, Felix remained silent, before quietly admitting, "Yeah. I’m pregnant."

It was the first ti he shared the news (which was hardly ’news’ at this point) with anyone. First ti he said it out loud. It was quite funny that his most trusted confidant was a fox, when foxes were known to be sly, mischievous and deceitful... But there was no one else Felix could trust, not even Eden. Because no matter how kind, caring, and understanding Eden was, he was still a werewolf. Who knew very well just how powerful and influential Kade was in their world...

"So, you see, I really need to find the rmaid," Felix added, still stroking Remi’s head. "Because if Kade finds out, I might end up dead. So I need him gone from Silverfall before my pregnancy becos too obvious."

Remi’s eyes twitched, but he remained otherwise motionless, maintaining eye contact with Felix. Felix stared at him expectantly, kind of nervous as a faint hope started flickering in his chest...

But in the end, Remi lowered his head, snuggling to Felix’s side.

So the answer was still no, huh?

Felix let out a sigh, dropping his hand. He really should give up on having any expectations, since he was bound to only keep on getting disappointed...

Or so he thought. Until three days later, when he returned ho in the evening, Remi approached him, tugging on his leg, and dragging Felix toward the door.

"What?" Felix asked, confused. After all this ti, he kind of accepted that Remi wouldn’t make himself too useful, so the rmaid didn’t imdiately cross his mind. At first, he thought that Remi wanted to show him sothing on the porch, or in the backyard...

But as Remi pushed the gate open, and started walking down the street, constantly glancing back to check if the Oga was following him, Felix couldn’t help but ask hesitantly, "Wait... Are you going to take to the rmaid?"

And Remi nodded his head.
