...However, dependable or not, there was a limit to what Kade could do. No matter how much he tried to convince Wilder to co to the forest with him, he couldn’t force him to do it. It’s not like he could just grab the man and drag him there forcefully, if Wilder was unwilling to...

And he was unwilling. No matter what Kade said, he had a ton of excuses as to why he wanted to stay inside the pack house. He had willingly gone out into the forest with Kade once, and he had co out on top back then, but when invited for the second (and the third, and the fourth...) ti, he was disinterested.

His intuition was just too good, it seed. He must have sensed that Kade’s intentions were not good. Although he doubted that the Bloodmoon Pack would hurt him physically during his stay at their pack - it wouldn’t be a smart move politically - there were still other ways to harm him...

For example, with magic. While getting cursed like Jared had been was unlikely (because once again, the Bloodmoon Pack wouldn’t want anything to happen to him during his stay at their pack house. They might have been ruthless to their enemies, but they wouldn’t stoop so low as to attack the guests they had personally invited. At least not for as long as they remained on their territory as ’guests’), he knew that Felix had a witch with at least decent skills on his side. Did the witch follow him to the Bloodmoon Pack? That was unclear, but Wilder wouldn’t take his chances. He was well-traveled and knowledgeable about the world, he even had so personal experiences. Enough to know what witches could be capable of. And he wasn’t so foolish as to take his potential opponents lightly.

Thus, the evening had passed, and Kade had accomplished nothing. The morning next day had passed, then noon, and still nothing. He had spent all this ti hovering around Wilder - he was even temporarily excused from attending to any of his usual duties, since he had explained his and Felix’s plans to his parents, and they supported him on this - but it was no use. Evening of the fourth day ca, and he was still unsuccessful in his attempts to lure Wilder out into the forest.

And the ti for another round of ’talks’ ca. This ti, over dinner. Since Wilder had been invited as Kade’s potential future father-in-law and the grandfather of Kade’s ’firstborn pup’, they didn’t schedule official negotiations in one of the conference rooms as they had done with Jared. Instead, they planned the conversation to look less like negotiations, and more like private conversations regarding Felix’s future.

Of course, the only difference was the presentation, and the manner in which the talks were conducted. The actual aning behind them was still the sa.

Felix glanced at the clock, fixing his collar. Once again, his hands were shaking. Not as much as the day before, though, and thanks to that, he managed to button up his shirt all on his own.

Just in ti, because shortly after, there was a knock on the door.

"Co in," he said, throwing one more look at his reflection in the mirror, fixing his hair for the hundredth ti. He looked overly sophisticated, so much so, that he barely could recognize himself. It was almost stupid, to dress up so much just for a dinner with his father...

But he didn’t want to give the man anything to nitpick about. If Felix didn’t look the part, Wilder would probably use it as an opportunity to sneak in a comnt about how he was not good enough to be Kade’s Luna. Which... wouldn’t exactly be incorrect, but still. Not the ti or place, or the person, to discuss that.

"You look great," Kade spoke up, making Felix turn back to face him. Kade was also dressed up well, in another one of his fancy suits, his sleek black hair styled back...

His expression didn’t look too good, though. He had that guilty half-smile, or more like a grimace, on his face, shifting around uneasily...

Felix let out a sigh. "Don’t worry about it. I know he’s not an easy person to deal with, it’s not your fault if you can’t lure him out."

It felt kind of odd for him to be the one to reassure Kade, when he was the one in a worse position... But seeing the Alpha look so pitiful for sothing that wasn’t really in his place seed to have moved sothing in him, and he found himself talking before he even realized.

He was wrong about it, though. Kade’s failure to invite Wilder for another walk in the forest wasn’t the reason behind Kade’s guilty expression, at least not entirely. Kade cleared his throat, his eyes dodging to the side...

"Well, yeah, thanks... Are you ready now?" he asked.

"Mn." Felix nodded his head, not thinking much about it.

But a mont later, his eyes turned sharp, because Kade said, "Great. Then let’s go... We still have to pick Vivi up from the nanny on the way."

"...What?" Felix stared at Kade, unsure whether he had heard it right.

Unfortunately, he had. Kade looked down at him apologetically, "I’m sorry. My parents said that we can’t just keep her away from him forever... It’s still his granddaughter, after all."

Felix went silent. That was... true. No matter how he felt about it, and even if Kade’s parents understood that Wilder didn’t actually care about Vivi, keeping her away from eting him wouldn’t be good look for them. Unless she was seriously ill and had to be hospitalized in isolation, Vivi had to be introduced to Wilder at so point during his visit...

"Fine," he let out a sigh. "Let’s go get her."

It’s not like anything would happen if Vivi and Wilder t. Felix would be present, and so would Kade and his parents. At most, Vivi would cry, but it’s not like she would get hurt because of it...

It would all be fine, right?
