Felix’s guide, who was going to show him around the pack house, turned out to be... Kade.
Young Master Kade Blackstone, the very heir of the Bloodmoon Pack. Showing a young rogue Oga around. An Oga that was supposedly the mother of his pup, but still.
Seems that it wasn’t just the pack’s Ogas that were so idle, even its Young Master had way too much ti on his hands! Then again, it shouldn’t co as a surprise, considering how much ti Kade had spent visiting Silverfall and courting Felix, even after he had received the rmaid blood.
Not that Felix complained. Although being shown around by Kade had so cons, such as inciting more jealousy in the young Ogas... After what had happened at breakfast, this sort of thing wasn’t really that much of a big deal. And aside from perhaps Fen and Cael, Felix wouldn’t be comfortable with anyone else... Well, Kade’s guards probably would do as well. Felix was sowhat used to them following him around, after all.
They started with the main mansion, which was primarily the living quarters of all the pack mbers who were rather high in the hierarchy. However, ’living quarters’ didn’t an that there were only bedrooms in there...
"This is our main living room," Kade said, as they entered a spacious room on the ground floor in the West wing. "It’s mainly for casual hanging out, small tea parties, things like that. I rarely co here, but a lot of Ogas like to spend their free ti chatting here."
Just like he said, there were a few young Ogas sitting on the couches with cups of coffee, and gossiping in hushed whispers. They weren’t the sa Ogas that Felix had encountered at breakfast... But they seed to be equally interested in Kade (and Felix), judging by their not-so-furtive glances. The living room was bright, spacious, and fancy without being ostentatious, while the couches looked very comfortable...
But Felix doubted he would be spending much ti here. For obvious reasons.
"Next, we have the terrace," Kade continued, leading Felix out of the living room through the large balcony doors. "Just like the living room, it is a popular hang-out spot. It’s not used right now, because it’s too cold outside, but once spring cos, it’ll be very nice here."
Indeed, it probably would. The terrace was pretty on its own, even now, when empty and covered in ice and snow, and on top of that, it was overlooking the garden. It reminded Felix a bit of the garden terrace back at the Moonhill Pack... Except that it was a much better version of it. Incomparably so.
And it was probably yet another place Felix wouldn’t frequent too often. He would much rather find himself a quiet, secluded spot in the garden.
Felix took a quick look around, and nodded his head. "Let’s go back inside," he said, already heading back to the balcony doors. It was cold outside, but since they were still touring the mansion, they hadn’t grabbed their jackets yet. And Felix wasn’t like the Bloodmoon Pack’s Ogas, who would be fine (or would they?) parading around in skimpy clothes, regardless of the weather. In his opinion, even the warm jumper he was wearing wasn’t enough.
Next, they went into the basent level.
"Here, you have the ga rooms," Kade said, as they had stepped into a dimd room. Unlike the living room upstairs, it was far emptier, with only one Alpha and two Betas sitting by a round table in the corner, playing so sort of card ga. "You can find almost anything you might want to play here. Chess, checkers, card gas, board gas... Console gas... There are also air hockey, billiards, table soccer, and table tennis in the adjacent rooms..."
Now that seed more interesting. Although the problem with most of those gas was that Felix would need at least one more person to play with him... But worst case scenario, he might play with Kade. He had played table soccer and table tennis with Tyler sotis, back in the Moonhill Pack... With everything that happened, those mories were now tainted with a bit of bitterness... It shouldn’t affect his enjoynt of the ga, though.
Kade didn’t fail to notice the change in Felix’s expression. "Anything here piques your interest?"
"Yes, well... Do you know how to play any of those gas?"
"I know them all!" Kade announced proudly. "Why, do you want to teach you?"
"I already know how to play so of them..." Felix hesitated for a mont, before asking, "Should we co here sotis?"
Kade’s grin couldn’t be any wider.
’We.’ Felix said ’we’.
Indeed he had, and it wasn’t by mistake. But Felix pretended not to realize it, and looked around, ignoring the smile on Kade’s face.
"Should we move on now?" he asked in a perfectly calm, sowhat monotonous voice.
Even if he had suggested that he and Kade should spend so ti together later, that wasn’t anything personal! It was just for the sake of the gas, alright?
Luckily, Kade knew when to stop (sotis), and didn’t say anything, lest Felix might change his mind. Instead, he just led the Oga out of the ga room, and into another room in the basent. "This is our cinema room..."
They continued their tour, soon wrapping out the main mansion. Next, Kade took Felix to the gym, which included an indoor swimming pool, all sorts of gym machines and weights, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, boxing rings, and even a spa... As it turned out, the Bloodmoon Pack even had their own massage therapists.
Which seed excessive, as far as Felix was concerned. Even if the Bloodmoon Pack was a supre pack with a lot of mbers, did they really use such facilities often enough to so that they needed to have their own spa at the pack house? Couldn’t they just make trips to a spa in the city from ti to ti?
Then again, it was none of his business what the Bloodmoon Pack mbers did. It was just that... Such luxury and overindulgent pampering didn’t fit with the bloody and ruthless reputation that they had!
Either way, it was yet another place he was likely going to avoid. The gym he might use, but the spa seed like a place where Ogas would flock... It’s not so much that Felix wasn’t interested in trying it at all, but how could he possibly relax there, when he was bound to beco a center of attention because of his connection with Kade?
He let out a sigh, and averted his eyes. At least until he beca ’old news’, thus no longer so interesting, he probably wouldn’t dare to go in there...
Kade’s eyes flickered. Once again, he didn’t fail to notice Felix’s change of expression. Although it was much more reluctant and kind of... regretful, perhaps? The Oga seed to be curious about the spa. He didn’t say anything, though, and just kept it in his mind for now. Of course, he would be more than glad to go there with Felix if the Oga had asked...
But so things were perhaps better to be left as Oga bonding monts. If he wanted Felix to integrate into the pack, he couldn’t steal all of his ti for himself, he had to make sure that Felix had a chance to establish other close bonds.
So, he took Felix to yet another building in the complex.
"This is our reception hall," he said, as they stepped into a grand marble hall. "Most of the parties and banquets organized by the Bloodmoon Pack are held here. Vivi’s seven-month birthday party will be hosted here as well."
The party was still three days away. It clearly was a lot of ti, at least for an inner-pack party... And yet, there were already workers bustling around, cleaning the space, and arranging decorations. Mock decorations, of course - those were only the testing attempts, the real decorations wouldn’t be hanged until the morning on the day of the party. They didn’t want them to gather any dust, after all!
...It all seed excessive. Back at the Moonhill Pack, even the leader’s birthday were never prepared with this much care. Then again, it was the party to introduce Vivi, who was supposedly the firstborn child of the heir to the pack... And therefore also a potential future heir, at least in the eyes of the others. Thus, the party had to be grand to match Vivi’s current status.
Felix stared at it all with mixed feelings. On one hand, it was too overwhelming, and it made him uncomfortable, but on the other... Since it was for Vivi, it didn’t feel all that inappropriate. As a parent, he naturally thought that his daughter deserved all the best. She deserved to be celebrated, even if her status was fake.
"Do you like it?" Kade asked. "If not, then we can change it..."
"It’s fine the way it is," Felix quickly interrupted him. "I’ll trust your judgnt on this!"
It was all for show, anyway. There was no need to give the workers any more work to do, they looked busy enough as they were!
But it seed to be the wrong answer, because Kade repeated, "My judgnt?" before turning to the staff. "Redo it all, make it more grand!"
Felix: "..."
That was the opposite of what he ant!
Kade didn’t give him any opportunity to protest, though, and instead, led him out of the building. "Let’s leave them to it, then, as they have a lot left to do. I want to show you sothing else now. I’m sure you’re going to love it!"
...Sohow, Felix was very doubtful.
