Feeling hot and thirsty all of a sudden, Felix reached out, grabbing his glass and taking a large gulp, trying to wet his dry throat.

But how could whiskey possibly satisfy his thirst? It only made his throat burn. So much so that he couldn’t help but cough.

"Cough, cough!" The glass in his hand shook violently, almost spilling, as he leaned forward, overtaken by a coughing fit. Even his eyes teared up. Although it wasn’t his first ti trying alcohol - he had an opportunity a few tis before, even if not many - it was most certainly the first ti trying so strong! Not only did it burn his throat, but the taste was also complex. Kind of sweet, and smoky, a bit bitter, and fruity... Overall, rather... unique.

"Careful," Kade chuckled, taking the glass from Felix’s hand, so that he wouldn’t stain his new clothes. Not that it would be a problem - they could always just buy more - but still. "It’s a bit strong, you should slow down. Don’t take such big gulps."

Felix’s brows lifted. Only ’a bit’ strong? In such a case, he really didn’t want to know what a ’strong’ alcohol truly was! But he didn’t say anything, only nodded his head, cleared his throat, and wiped his teary eyes, before taking the glass back from Kade.

And taking another sip. Although he knew he shouldn’t drink so fast, lest he get drunk (due to his lack of experience, he had no idea about his alcohol tolerance. Thus, it was better to be careful), this glass of whiskey was like an hourglass, asuring the ti of this evening eting. Only once all the amber liquid from the glass trickled down into his stomach, would it be the ti for him to make his leave. Which he wanted to co soon. While the company wasn’t exactly unpleasant, and he couldn’t say that his presence here was entirely unwilling...

He was still feeling awkward. Getting to know new people was sothing that should be done in small doses. Perhaps due to the social isolation and rejection he had experienced ever since his early childhood, or perhaps because of his trust issues, or maybe both, Felix didn’t make friends easily.

"You know, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to drink it," Cael said all of a sudden.

"H-huh?" Felix lifted his eyes from his glass, eting Cael’s gaze. "What do you an?"

"Your expression," Cael pointed at his face with an amused smile. "You don’t seem to be enjoying it."

Felix subconsciously reached his hand to his face. He thought that he had been maintaining a neutral expression, but... Was it really so obvious?

Well, Cael was right. Felix indeed didn’t enjoy the drink very much. It was too strong for him, and the flavor was also not up to his taste... The only reason why he was still sipping it, was for the company. Besides, it wasn’t all bad. Although he couldn’t say he liked it very much, it was kind of... interesting. And the whiskey was probably very expensive (it was Kade’s, after all. How could the Alpha possibly choose to drink any cheap spirits?), so he didn’t want to waste it...

As Felix was hesitating over what to do, the glass left his hand all of a sudden.

Snatched by Kade, of course. The Alpha smoothly took it from him, and before Felix could say anything, he lifted it to his lips, and downed it in a few big gulps.

With his lips touching the glass exactly at the sa point that Felix’s previously had.

Felix’s cheeks imdiately flushed in a deep shade of red.

That was an indirect kiss! And yes, he and Kade had shared an actual kiss before, not just an indirect one... But still!

"Gah!" Kade pulled the glass away from his mouth with a satisfied sigh, before smiling at Felix. There was sothing smug about his grin, as if he had just scored so sort of big win.

...Felix wanted to sink into the sofa. lt into it, hide from view. He could still feel Kade’s thigh pressing against his, his imnse body heat...

It all made his head spin.

Could he bla it on the alcohol? Although he didn’t drink much, with his lack of experience, perhaps it was possible to get drunk on only a few sips?

Luckily, before he could lt down completely, his attention was already diverted by Cael, who had stood up, and gone to the bar to get Felix another drink. "Do you have any preferences?"

"No... Not really," Felix shook his head. He didn’t try enough alcoholic drinks to know his taste.

"Hmm..." Cael scanned the bar, before taking a look into the mini fridge. There wasn’t much available in Kade’s room, only a few bottles. After all, he wasn’t a drunkard, just an adult who liked to occasionally get himself a drink, on a night like this one, chatting with friends. Of course, they could always just call for soone to deliver anything they wanted - the Bloodmoon Pack never lacked in anything - but Cael accurately guessed that Felix wouldn’t like it. So, he restricted himself to whatever was available on hand.

"Do you like grapefruit juice?" he eventually asked.

"Mn, that’s fine."

"Then what do you say to grapefruit juice with vodka?"

"...As long as it’s not too strong..." Felix hesitantly answered. Now that his attention was off Kade, he no longer felt so dizzy, he could afford another light drink. It was still too early for him to make his leave, since he had barely been in the room for a few minutes, so, since Kade had snatched his previous drink, he might as well go for another one...

Cael nodded his head with understanding, and a mont later, a tall glass filled with orange-red liquid stood in front of Felix, with three ice cubes floating by the surface.

"Thank you," Felix nodded at Cael, before carefully taking a sip...

And his eyes instantly widened.

It was actually pretty good! Almost like a normal grapefruit juice. Although the alcohol in it could still be felt, it didn’t burn his throat so much, but rather left just a little bit tingling. It was cool and refreshing, finally helping relieve so of the heat that Felix felt.

"Do you like it?" Cael asked.

"Yes, thank you. It’s great!"

"That’s good," Cael smiled, taking a seat. "By the way... I’ve been aning to ask. I’ve heard from Kade an Fen that you’ve been raising a pet fox. You didn’t bring it with you?"

At the ntion of the fox, the smile instantly vanished from Felix’s face.
