Lorelei’s return to the pack felt much more low-key than Kade’s. Primarily because there was no falling Ogas parade, just a few guards and assistants greeting her. They took care of the car and all the bags, and trailed behind them as Lorelei and Felix walked up the stairs.
Inside the mansion was equally peaceful. While there were so pack mbers wandering around, it was only because it wasn’t late yet, their presence was absolutely natural. So were returning from the dining room, others were going to et with their friends... In other words, no one was there for Lorelei. Unlike with Kade, when Lorelei returned to the pack, only those who were supposed to know about it were inford.
After all, the Ogas (or Alphas, or Betas) had nothing to gain from tripping in front of Lorelei. She was the Luna of their pack, with her mate still alive and well (at least as far as everyone knew. The issue of Einar’s curse had been kept under tight wraps), who would dare to try to seduce her? Not to ntion, she spent most of her ti in the pack house. If anyone had any business with her, it wasn’t hard to et her, there was no need for such covert sches!
"Have a good night," Lorelei smiled at Felix, as they parted at the bottom of the stairs leading to her floor. "Tomorrow, soone will take you around the pack house to show you around."
"Thank you very much. Have a good night!" Felix bowed his head politely, and went to his room, the guards with the bags following right after him.
"You can just drop it anywhere," he said, when they had entered his room. His luggage which he had brought from Silverfall was already there, waiting in the walk-in closet, still unpacked. That was a good thing, of course - Felix preferred to take care of it himself, rather than have strangers arrange his things for him. Such a ’rich person’s’ lifestyle simply wouldn’t suit him...
The guards nodded, and dropped the bags on the floor in the walk-in closet.
...All those bags with luxury clothes dropped casually on the floor. Yes, the floor was clean and the space was all very fancy, and Felix had told them to ’just drop it’ himself... But looking at it, it still seed so out of place!
He sighed, and put Vivi in the crib, before plopping down on the sofa. He had to unpack, then shower and go to bed, since the next day was likely going to be just as busy... But he needed a little break first...
He could faintly hear a sound of chatter coming from next door, from Kade’s room. It seed that he had so people over...
Well, it was his pack after all. He might have been indifferent to the Ogas hunting him the night before, but that didn’t an he didn’t have any friends. Actually, Felix already knew that Kade had at least one friend, Fenwick. Perhaps it was Fen visiting him?
Either way, Felix didn’t care. It was a good thing if Kade had friends, the more, the better. At least he wouldn’t co bother him all the ti then...
Just as he thought it, though, there ca a sound of knocking on the door.
Not the one leading to the hallway, but the one connecting their rooms.
Ugh.
Felix let out a groan, but he still dragged himself off the sofa, and forced himself to open the door.
It wasn’t Kade, though, but a white-haired Alpha with a warm, wide smile on his face, his face slightly flushed.
As Felix had guessed, Kade’s visitor was Fen.
"Hi, you’re finally back!" he greeted Felix cheerfully. "Want to join us?"
There was a rich aroma of alcohol wafting in the air. Seems that they were having a drink. Which explained the blush on Fen’s face. Although the Alpha didn’t seem drunk, at most a bit buzzed, perhaps he was the type who got flushed easily?
Anyway, while the fragrance of the alcohol seed rather inviting, especially for Felix, who didn’t have many opportunities to try any alcoholic beverages, let alone a fancy, aged whisky that the Alphas seed to be drinking, the last thing Felix needed at the mont was more headache and the company of another mber of the Blackstone family. So, he smiled, and refused politely,
"I appreciate the invitation, but I’m afraid that I can’t. I still need to unpack..."
"Just this?" Fen tilted his head. "Don’t worry, we can help you!"
...Ugh.
The smile on Felix’s face grew wider and more fake at the sa ti. "I’m really grateful for your offer, but I don’t want to bother you..."
"There’s no need to be so polite!"
Ugh, again!
Felix barely managed to hold back a groan.
"It will be faster if we help you do it, no?" Fen insisted.
...Was he so dense, or was he doing it on purpose, since he knew that Felix would have a hard ti turning him down? Well, either way, Felix didn’t really hold it against him. He knew that Fen was doing it for Kade’s sake, most likely on his request.
However, that still didn’t an that Felix was going to agree. He wanted so peace and quiet for the rest of the evening, thank you very much!
Just as he was about to throw more excuses at Fen, another voice spoke up from deep within Kade’s room.
"We’re all pack mbers now, even if it’s only temporary. It’s only natural for us to help you!"
...Huh?
Felix blinked.
It wasn’t Kade’s voice. While it was also a male voice, it was much higher, like that of an Oga. Beautiful, lodic, and almost enchanting. Felix couldn’t help but stick his head into Kade’s room, bypassing Fen, to take a glance...
Inside, there were two n, sitting on the sofas, with whisky glasses set on the table in front of them. One was, of course, Kade - leaning back in his seat, with his arms resting on the top of the backrest, a few top buttons of his shirt unbuttoned, exposing a bit of his cleavage. Although his cheeks were not flushed, there was still an unusual twinkle in his eyes, which suggested he might have already had a glass or two. As for the other man...
