I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL] Chapter 182: Meeting the Parents

There seed to be eyes everywhere in the Bloodmoon Pack’s main mansion. Pack mbers - primarily young Ogas and female Betas, but not only - wandered around the hallways, pretending to be busy. ’Pretending’ was the key word - while they were extrely skilled when it ca to their fake tripping and ’accidentally’ exposing themselves techniques, they were severely lacking when it ca to this task. Or perhaps it was just that their curiosity was too great, so that they forgot themselves?

Either way, the mont Felix and Kade stepped out of Felix’s room with Vivi in their arms, they were surrounded by countless not-so-furtive glances, and a murmur of hushed whispers. A lot of pack mbers gathered in the hallway...

After all, it was not every day that Young Master Kade brought a mysterious Oga (with a child!) to the pack. In fact, it was the first ti sothing like that had happened!

At least Felix and Kade didn’t have far to go, because Kade’s parents decided to et with Felix in their private reception room, which was located just a floor above Kade and Felix’s rooms. All they had to do was walk down half a hallway and climb the staircase... And the mont they stepped onto the upper floor, the number of eyes that were on them instantly dropped. The whole floor was taken by the leader and the Luna, so no one dared to wander around casually without any clear purpose. They wouldn’t necessarily be punished, but... It was simply inappropriate.

And no matter how much the curiosity was eating them up alive, it didn’t overtake the respect they felt for the leader.

The reception room was spacious and well lit, with large windows that let a lot of sunlight into the room, even on a cloudy day like it was. It seed even brighter thanks to the light color palette, with only a few darker touches. Everything was very elegant and classy, clearly luxurious and expensive, but not to the point that it would be overwhelming. On the coffee table in the middle, there were tea and coffee ready to be served, as well as a selection of snacks, and on one of the cream-colored sofas in front of it, sat two people.

Felix recognized them imdiately. They were Einar and Lorelei Blackstone, the leader and the Luna of the pack.

"You must be Felix," Lorelei smiled at Felix as soon as they walked in. "Please, take a seat," she said, gesturing at the sofa opposite her.

She was a beautiful woman with long, dark brown hair and brown eyes, tall and slender, but with nice curves. She was wearing a light beige dress with contrasting elents. Sohow, she managed to look both elegant and approachable at the sa ti. She didn’t resemble Kade much, though - the Alpha clearly took after his father.

"Thank you. It’s nice to et you, I’m... Felix Embermane," Felix introduced himself, almost giving his ’fake’ na he had been using in Silverfall out of habit. He walked over, and took a seat on the sofa, Kade soon sitting down next to him...

Close.

Way too close.

Inappropriately so.

But... Kade’s parents didn’t seem to mind? The smile on Lorelei’s face didn’t falter even for a split second, and Einar’s face also remained unmoved. Serious, as expected of the pack’s leader, but not hostile or disapproving.

"This must be Vivi?" Lorelei asked, turning her eyes to the pup. Who was resting in Kade’s arms, because Kade insisted on being the one to carry her, even though they shouldn’t encounter any falling Ogas during the day!

"Yes," Kade grinned, handing the pup to his mother before Felix could say anything. Felix reached out to stop him, but then he paused.

If Lorelei wanted to see Vivi, was he really in the position to say ’no’ to her? And there was no reason for him to reject her either... It’s not like she would hurt his pup. Not to ntion, if she had any bad intentions, he wouldn’t have been able to stop her anyway... If she wished so, both Felix and Vivi would perish within an hour or less (definitely less), and even Kade wouldn’t be able to do anything about it...

But Lorelei wasn’t that bad of a person. She noticed Felix’s uneasy expression, and turned to him, before taking the pup from Kade. "Do you mind if I hold her for a bit?"

Felix blinked, surprised. He didn’t expect Lorelei to ask him for permission. "Ah? Yes, of course... I an, you can hold her if you want..."

Lorelei smiled, and took the pup into her arms. "She’s beautiful!" she said, as she took a look at Vivi’s face. "Luckily, she takes after you..."

Indeed, that was a good thing. Since Vivi looked like a tiny female copy of Felix, it wouldn’t be seen as odd that she didn’t bear any resemblance to Kade. If she didn’t look like either of her supposed parents, then people would have more reason to speculate about Kade’s paternity, but now... It wouldn’t completely put a stop to all the suspicions that might arise, but at least the truth wouldn’t be so obvious.

Of course, Felix didn’t know if that’s what Lorelei ant, but the woman didn’t elaborate. Instead, she turned her attention elsewhere... To Vivi’s clothing, to be precise.

"At least she’s not dressed unwell," she comnted, examining her clothes, and nodded with approval. Although Vivi’s clothes were also the ones Felix had bought himself, they were new and of a good quality - buying cheap clothes for himself was one thing, but when it ca to his daughter, naturally Felix wanted all the best. And even now, he didn’t try to make Vivi appear humble - after all, no one should criticize for taking care of his daughter!

What he didn’t know, though, was that Lorelei wasn’t checking Vivi’s clothes because she wanted to criticize him. Instead... She gave Kade a reproachful glare.

"The pup is well-dressed, but the mother is still walking in old clothes. Is that how I taught you? What do you do with all of the money you get?"

Felix blinked, dumbfounded, his eyes wandering from Lorelei to Kade and back.

So... When Kade had said that he would be scolded earlier... He was actually being serious?!
