Despite his internal complaints, Felix didn’t bother to correct Kade. He just got straight to the point,

"Don’t co."

"What?"

"Don’t co," Felix repeated, the tone of his voice even more decisive than the last ti.

Kade went silent for a mont. "I can help you solve the problem," he eventually said. "Whether you want to get rid of that Alpha, or whatever else, I can help you out. Of course, it will be free of charge. I do it because I want to, so you don’t have to feel like you owe or anything..."

"It’s not that," Felix interrupted, rubbing his furrowed forehead. While this indeed had been one of his concerns before, there were other, more significant reasons not to accept Kade’s help. "What if you are spotted?"

Not only might there be spies watching Kade... But also, Remi had put so much effort into casting a spell on the neighbors! What if they see Kade visit him now? Remi would have to redo it all over again!

But Kade still insisted, "No one will see . I can sneak in after dark, leaving my car sowhere else... You just might have to prepare a set of clothes for !"

"Ugh," Felix groaned. What Kade ant was that he would co in his wolf form, and then transform into a naked human form... The thought of it made Felix’s cheeks flush lightly, but he shook his head, chasing it all away. Who wanted to see the Alpha naked?! Certainly not him! Besides, now was not the ti to think about Kade’s muscular body...

"Anyway, no. Even if you co, what can you do?" he firmly refused.

On the other end of the line, Kade let out a short chuckle. "Whatever you want..."

His voice was low, velvety and playful, but at the sa ti, it carried a hint of danger, which sent shivers down Felix’s spine. Although those were just three short words, and they were spoken in his favor, Felix was once again reminded just how powerful and dangerous the Alpha was.

However.

"Can you afford it?"

"Hmm?" Kade humd, confused.

"Can you afford to do whatever I... Whatever you want with Jared Thorne?"

For a mont, Kade didn’t speak, as if he didn’t understand the question.

"Who do you think I am?" he eventually asked. "I’m the heir to the Bloodmoon Pack, so Alpha from a random pack is nothing to ..."

That sounded awfully arrogant. Even putting the fact that Jared was not just ’so Alpha’, but a leader of a pack, and Felix, whom Kade was claiming that he wanted to court, was just ’so Oga’ from the sa pack...

But then again, if Kade wanted to kill a leader of a dium-sized pack, then no one would dare to oppose him. Under normal circumstances, he could do whatever he wanted...

Except that those weren’t ’normal circumstances’.

"The Misty Claw Pack is already scheming against the Bloodmoon Pack," Felix pointed out. "Don’t you think that they might use it against you?"

"This..." Kade didn’t quite know what to say.

And Felix wasn’t even done yet. "If anyone investigates the situation, it will be clear that I’m the one in the wrong. So, if you support , you will also be in the wrong... After all, I’m a mber of the Moonhill Pack. And Vivi... Jared Thorne is her biological father."

Felix... had a point. Kade knew it, but he still tried to argue back, "So what? I’ll just say that you’re my fated mate..."

"But we’re no longer fated mates, are we?" Felix said, his voice shaking a bit as his chest tightened. "And Jared and I... still are. If anyone tries to investigate it..."

The fated mate bond could only be sensed by the two wolves connected by it. However, just because no one else could sense it, that didn’t an there was no way to ’check’ it... There was one thod. It was to hide one mate sowhere, and conceal the scent as much as possible, creating fake trails. Then, ask the other mate to find the hidden one. If they were truly fated mates, then the tracking mate should be able to follow the bond and easily find their hidden mate...

But this thod was rarely used. Werewolves considered the fated mate bond almost sacred. It was a blessing given by the Moon Goddess. Even if so chose to reject it, not many would dare to lie about it. In fact, questioning it could even be considered insulting... And on top of that, while this thod was logical, it still couldn’t be considered an undeniable proof. In the past, there were wolves who had argued with the results, as the speed and precision in tracking the hidden mate that was required to pass the test were up for debate...

Still, if anyone truly wished to cause trouble for Kade and the Bloodmoon Pack, they might be put to the test. Especially if it was a mber of another supre pack who suggested it. Felix didn’t know whether the Misty Claw Pack would dare to provoke the Bloodmoon Pack so openly, least their true sentints might be revealed... But if they did, and both Kade and Jared were tested... Jared would most certainly find Felix first. And then, it would be obvious who is Felix’s true ’fated mate’.

...When he thought about it like that, Felix felt regretful that he had broken his bond with Kade. It only lasted a mont, though, as he soon pointed out another problem,

"Even if you manage to sohow convince everyone that you’re my fated mate... Vivi is still Jared’s biological daughter. If they conduct a DNA test... Then even if you snatch , she would still be taken away by the Moonhill Pack."

That was indeed the case. Kade thought for a mont, before suggesting, "Can’t the witch do anything about it? For example, alter the test results?"

Felix glanced back at Remi, but Remi just shook his head.

"I can switch up the sample they take... But if she were to be taken away, and tested sowhere where I wouldn’t have any access..."

Although Felix had already expected it, he still couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed. "You’ve heard him," he said to Kade. "That... That’s not going to work."

Once again, silence fell between them. Felix stood in the middle of his bedroom, holding his phone to his ear, and chewing on his lip nervously... If that was all, then they should end the call here. Vivi was still asleep peacefully - Remi seed to have taken good care of her earlier - but Felix still wanted to check on her. Then, a shower, to wash away Jared’s scent off his skin, and put his ’contaminated’ clothes in the laundry... And make so breakfast. Although he had no appetite, he was still weakened after the flu and the heat, he should eat sothing, even if he had to face himself...

Just as he was about to end the call, though, Kade spoke again. "If you really don’t want to co, then alright, I won’t... But what are you going to do?"

Felix exhaled softly with relief. At least Kade wasn’t unreasonable this ti. As for the second question...

"I don’t know," he said with a sigh. "I’ll... I’ll think of sothing. Maybe I’ll alter his mories..." was the first idea he had, but when he glanced at Remi, the man had a complicated look on his face. Could it be that it wasn’t possible this ti?

It made him feel uneasy, but he left that discussion for later.

"But he’s not the only one who knows you’re in Silverfall," Kade was unconvinced as well. "There are at least a few mbers who know about the anonymous tip..."

At the ntion of the tip, Felix imdiately grew more alert. "So you know about the tip?"

"Of course! I have a reliable information network..."

"Then... Do you know who sent it?"

"This... We’re still investigating it..."

Felix’s shoulders dropped in disappointnt. But, he had already expected that it wouldn’t be so easy, so he just dismissed it, and said, "It doesn’t matter if they know. Remi... I an, the witch, had already made Jared report to the pack that the information is false."

"Ah, is that so? But will they believe it?"

"Jared said so himself over the phone, so they have no reason to doubt it..."

Kade didn’t ask how they did it. He just said, "Well, if that’s the case..."

"As for that tip," Felix interrupted Kade, rembering sothing suddenly. "The Darkmane Pack is suspicious."

"The Darkmane Pack?"

"Yes. That’s a dium-sized pack which borders with the Moonhill Pack... We had been in conflict for years. I think they might have used this information to lure Jared out of the pack, because as soon as he left, they caused so trouble..."

"Ah. Do you an that female Oga?" Kade asked, montarily leaving Felix stunned.

"You... already know about this as well?"

"Of course!" Kade laughed, his voice becoming more cheery again. "Who do you think arranged it?"
