Arc 3, Chapter 173— New Discovery
.
.
The moon in all its glory—was quite a magnificent sight to behold tonight. Its blue luminous essence, sent out flutters of fairy-like hues across the land.
Ah yes~
Such a night should have been one to enjoy while sipping a glass of one’s favorite beverage. But at this mont on the rooftop of countless cabins, one could see flashing arcs of lightning swish by, accompanied by the sounds of tals clanging.
Boom! Boom! Pah! Bam! Boom!~
These crawling bastards were crawling up from all corners of the moving train, so stupidly getting caught and ground into aty aty chunks by the chanical steam monstrosity that carried all passengers forward.
In the day, the ghouls are weaker, but by night... their strengths were at their peak, allowing them to crawl and head towards the moving trains.
Sweet Mother Of Pearls!
No wonder the train was moving at an acceptable pace typically seen in the outside world. The Order must have done it on PURPOSE, to allow these ghouls to hop aboard during the nights.
Sure enough, Winhest’s creepy smile was not for Nothing.
"BLOODY BASTARD!"
Soone on a nearby cabin rood exclaid, as they twisted his body in a maneuver that caused a swivel of air to scatter and blow all Ghouls away.
In all cabins, fierce battles were underway as the group of Bloodren 10s fought to keep their little lives intact.
Graaew~
The ghouls fell backwards mid-air, falling far, far, down below, from whence they ca.
Swirling the strawberry lollipop in his mouth, Levon steadied his emotions while battling the tens and hundreds of ghouls that kept crawling up.
With his Twin daggers, he jumped like a cricket, planted his daggers into the back of another ghoul. And as the ghoul cried, it arched its body backwards.
Good.
Levon twisted and sent sweeping kicks towards the nearby ghouls, sending him flying off the train. sweeping in an arc, kicking other Ghouls off. He then dragged his twin daggers deeper and lower into the body of the crying ghoul, hitting it where it mattered most.
Poof!
The ghoul turned into ashes. Victory was his, but Levon knew the fight was far from over.
~Bam! Bam! Boom! Pah! Bam!
Rayna had rounded up the other group, assisting them and saving quite a few in the Knick of ti, just as Levon instructed.
Sadly, 2 from the other group, were badly injured, with a broken wooden window sill plunged into the left leg of one of the injured.
The victim was the arrogant girl from earlier who sneaky searched their rooms earlier. She was now on the floor, writhing and screaming as if it was the end of the world.
Itr was amusing that despite her dramatic countenance, she still managed to kick and beat several ghouls that kept crawling her way.
"Die! Die you worthless bastards!" The girl exclaid furiously, as she activated her shard and stumped on several Level 1 Ghouls. "Do you know what you’ve done? With my leg in this condition, how do you expect to do well for the Phase 2 competitions?"
"The Phase 2..." Rayna froze and muttered these words after listening to her rants from nearby. But this wasn’t the ti to think further. Using the razor-shard boorang, she deceived sweet nace to the many ghouls still crawling in.
It’s been 2 hours since they began fighting, and she had to say that since Leon and Leo got on the roofs, the inflow had decreased by 15%.
.
.
~Bam! Boom! Pah! Boom!
There was madness happening everywhere one looked. The chaos continued for an additional 3 hours, until the first rays of sunlight glead in around 7 AM.
Ooow?
The Ghouls froze, turning their faces to the sun for only a millisecond before rushing out of the cabins and fleeing down back to the grounds below and into the forest.
Everything happened so fast!
Like phantoms, they vanished into the dark canopies of the surrounding forests, no longer to be seen again.
(Silence)
Except for the churning sounds from the train and heavy breathing of those in and on the cabins, all everyone could hear was silence and cumberso beatings of their own hearts.
Leo and Levon fell to their butts, breathing heavier than usual. During the last few hours, they ended up activating their shards and fighting till the very end.
5 HOURS! —The battle took 5 hours.... But although these ghouls were weaker level ghouls, they were 10 tis more in number than what they were used to dealing with during night drills.
Dammit, for a mont, several people couldn’t help wondering if the Order was trying to kill them or sothing.
Usually, during night drills, they fight anywhere between 400~900 ghouls. But tonight, they swore they fought off no less than 6000.
They couldn’t help wondering if they felt it was too much because they were fighting inside confined spaces, like the cabins, with nowhere to go. Even those who fought on the cabin roofs felt utterly surrounded and sowhat helpless while standing on the spot and fighting nonstop.
In the mansion, they have ample space to play. But while travelling in their respective cabins, there’s not much room to play, now is there?
Levon stared at the beautiful sunrise that gave a feeling of serenity in his heart.
"Finally, it’s over." Leo beside him muttered, falling flat on his back to stare at the skies.
Levon also joined him, admiring this montary peace the best he could. "Lollipop?"
~Pfft. Leo laughed loudly. It was tis like these that helped to remind him that he was still alive. "No thanks bro."
Both Leo and Levon were exhausted beyond doubt, but their smiles never faded, after the many enlightennts tonight unfolded.
"Bro," Leo continued. "I think this is it."
"Hmmm." Levon agreed, his smile turning even more nacing, yet amusing. "There’s no donut about it."
They were so wrong!... So terribly wrong.
You see, they can’t possibly be heading for the Phase 2 competitions... because THIS WAS the phase 2 competitions!
