Arc 2, Chapter 102—The Gods Are Here!

.

.

The air in the cubicle degenerated into a freezing atmosphere as the group turned to Winhest—This was unlike him.

"It doesn’t make sense," Winhest began, his voice laced with cryptice undertones and riddles that tainted the ears of many.

The others, although curious, remained silent with devilish smiles and narrowed gazes.

"Tell ," Winehst finally spoke. "What would you say if soone awakens a Shard from Pile 1?"

"TRASH!"

"Maggot."

"A Waste of space in this world"

"A waste of good oxygen in the world."

"Worse than shit!"

The responses ca swiftly, each utterance dripping with contempt and disgust.

What the hell? Was all this because of a Pile-1 trash?

"Yes," Winhest chuckled lightly, raising his head in amusent. " I think so too. One hundred percent Trash. However..."

He paused, his eagle-like gaze focusing on a silhouette within the crowd that should have been impossible to spot from their towering cubicle.

"Would you believe it if I said such a person was ranked and placed to fight within the Top 5 battles?"

A collective gasp of disbelief rippled through the cubicle: IMPOSSIBLE.

No one believed such a thing.

"An error perhaps?" Soone’s voice ventured in.

Winhest didn’t nod or shake his head sideways, his gaze still gazed on the silhouette below. "Perhaps..."

Suddenly, a voice bood through the arena: "Call–Leo Wins!"

The verdict was sealed, with the battle’s outco carved into the annals of the wretched arena.

Good.

Levon and Artilla wore sly masks of triumph. But what of Florianna?

The slumbering beauty was now awake. Her eyes–those deep, unfathomable pools—fixated on the duo below.

What thoughts stirred in her thoughtful mind? No one knows. Perhaps not even she.

The crowd went on and on about the battle just now.

They prattled on endlessly, showing no signs of boredom. And despite everyone knowing that there was a 20 minute break intermission, no one dared to stand for fear that soone else would take their seats.

There were still hundreds of people pouring in and standing at the doorways in search of spots.

The arena was jam packed and almost no one could believe this was all for Bloodren 10s.

The air was thick with tension, palpable dread now freezing even the boldest hearts.

No one dared to move a muscle, especially since the top 5 battles would soon comnce.

What’s more, whispers began to circulate as several people spotted the likes of so unique personnel that made their bodies freeze in place.

"Up there in the top cubicles!..." One of them hissed, "That’s... That’s... Thats..."

He was not even able to say the nas of those he spotted.

White lab coat, a thick whiff of smoke following her, a sexy silhouette displayed underneath her opened lab coat... That’s Miss Villeta, Head of the dical departnt—Departnt 2.

And by her side was a ghostly looking lady with long black hair tied in a ponytail. However, the overly long hair hung high still fell over a face like a Ghost out of a movie. She had long dangs added to her look, and a creepy smile that, true to story, had caused several Vampires to flee in the opposite direction.

How petrifying must one be to have Vampires and Ghouls subconsciously step back when seeing you for the first ti?

No doubt, this lady was Rika, Head of the Departnt 7—Weapon and Shard Research Departnt

Both ladies stepped into the cubicle side by side. And between them was the famous little girl—Sayoko, Head of Departnt 6, Logistics.

Many tis, it was incredible when thinking that such a little girl could be a renowned departnt head.

This... This... This...

"Are you SURE? Are you sure they are who you say they sare?"

Hearing the murmurs of a few, several people looked up, flabbergasted to the core that they turned into stone.

This was the first ti they were seeing DEPARTNT HEADS!

You don’t understand. In their world, Not many people knew what these departnt heads looked like.

Are you kidding? Do you think you are worthy of standing in their presence?

You want to stand in their presence? HAH! Why don’t you take a hard look into the mirror and wake up from your delusions?

So have been here for hundreds and hundreds of years, and have never seen what the various departnt heads looked like.

Seeing these people was as hard as finding a needle in the deepest dark ocean, deep, deep, deep in places where ships cannot reach.

Only a handful of people have been privileged to see this group.

If you are not far high in power, how dare you think of seeing such gods?

And even when fortunate to see a glimpse, those who set their sights on these Departnt heads, take them as their Ultimate goal—a dream of what they wish to be.

Hello? Do you still not get it?

These 3 ladies who appeared in one of the cubicles above, were like legends appearing in flesh.

Even the Coteries who are just 3 levels underneath these Heads, all feel goosebumps swell on their bodies when seeing all 3 Heads appear.

As Coteries, they do see these heads more often than ordinary bloodrens. However, that doesn’t diminish the reverence and awe in their hearts when in the presence of these Departnt Heads.

.

.

Hiss~

Many people collectively sucked in their breaths when they heard the murmurs of the identities of the 3 ladies who stepped into the lone spacious cubicle high up.

"What? 3 Heads are here?"

The murmurs were getting wilder by the second. Many had dumbfounded expressions, so greed, so envy, and so hatred.

"This is unbelievable. Who the HELL do these Bloodrens think they are to garner attention from these HEADS?"

"Heh. Yes, they are indeed far more talented than we were when we started out. But as one of the top Bloodren 7s, have I not proven myself worth your glance?"

"It’s been 78 years since I first ca. I’ve worked my ass off to be a Bloodrern 7! So why am I not worthy enough to have them watch my matches?"

"That is, I clawed my way to Bloodren 5 status, but have never received even so much as a glare from them."

"I hate it! I hate it!"

Jealousy festered in the crowd like an open wound, several people now gnashing their teeth so hard blood began oozing from the corners of their mouths.

Seeing these legends appear in the flesh, you expect them to take this 20 minute break intermission to stand and head out for a walk?

IMPOSSIBLE!

As many discussed, the 3 ladies were the only ones seated in the specifically crafted cubicle.

Little 7-year-old Sayoko pouted her lips and scratched her head in confusion when taking her seat between her big sisters.

Since her ti in the order, they have taken care of her greatly. So of course they were her older sisters. Duh?

Rika carefully unwrapped a piece of candy with her black gothic nails. Obviously, she was unraveling it for the little girl.

Sayako was happy, opening her mouth and allowing Rika to drop it in her mouth.

"So sweet!"

The little girl sucked and placed 2 hands on her cheeks, her joy very evident.

"Thank you Big sister Rika," Sayoko spoke softly, after which she turned her attention from Rika to Villeta. The little girl that was masked with innocence, also had a confused look in her eyes.

She shook her head, as though trying to unclog her stumped brain. "Big Sister Villetta, I don’t get it.... Are you sure he is worth this much attention?"

....Is he worth it? Even Villeta didn’t know the answer to this.

She blew off a whiff of smoke, her thoughts falling on the mory of their first encounter.

In all her years, she had never seen anyone’s body do what that boy’s did.

A malevolent laugh slipped the crackle of her lips, as she teasingly rubbed the head of the little girl.

"There’s no rush. I just think he’s a fascinating species."

"—enough to garner the attention of the Head of the dical Departnt?" Rika questioned with interest.

Although Rika’s face could not be seen underneath her cloak of hair, Villeta knew she was raising a brow.

"Well now, this is surprising.... Villy, you’re more fascinated than I expected."

"Yeah, Big Sister Villy!"

...

The 3 ladies calmly conversed, while several Lieutenants from other departnts also arrived and sat in the cubicles of lower grades to theirs.

The crowd also noticed them too.

doku and Sultan, lieutenants under Gaara, appeared.

The famous Lacroft himself, who is always by Roud’s side, was here as well.

Lieutenant Ayano from Departnt 5, and Fugo from Departnt 3 had all shown up with orders from their Departnt Heads themselves.

This... this... this was just too insane.

So Lieutenants from Viletta, Sayako and Rika’s departnts also showed up.

Despite these 3 coming, they still had their lieutenants co over to watch as well.

What shocked these lieutenants was that it was a direct ORDER.

But why?

Why was there so much obsession and attention given to re Bloodren 10s?
