Zeke stared into the many eyes of the beast with trembling hands that tightly clutched the handles of his rifles. The Alpha’s Predatory Aura was overwhelming, especially when you are the target of its malice.

"It truly is a terrifying beast..."

Breaking out of his stupor, he glanced down at Lillian’s current state and looked over her injuries.

Fortunately, other than the possibilities of broken bones and internal bleeding, she was fine—albeit unconscious.

Summoning a drone from his spatial ring, Zeke turned it on and watched as it hovered in the air before moving towards an entirely different location from his.

And as he did this, he watched as in the corners of his eyes, the Alpha let out an ear-piercing roar before charging towards him with a blood-stained face.

With both saliva and blood dripping in between its yellowed teeth, it rushed towards him like a bloodthirsty train.

Zeke, watching as his life was in imminent danger, put aside whatever fear he had and raised his rifles—intending to hold it off.

But right as he was about to press down on the triggers, a massive stone pillar barged through the air and slamd into the Alpha’s side—knocking it off course.

A split second later, he was surrounded by two ladies, who hurriedly rushed to Lillian’s side. And seeing this, Zeke quickly manifested his spell, [Transparent Curtains].

With the four of them now hidden both in sll and sight, they gathered around Lillian, who was still unconscious.

As the two ladies tried to pry the girl out of her rest, Zeke knelt to the side and summoned a heavy wooden crate filled with health potions.

After offering one to the two, he gestured for Millis to pour one into Lillian’s mouth while muttering:

"Although these are of a low quality due to our mayor’s stinginess, it should do the trick in closing any small wounds the girl may have and waking her up after a few minutes..."

As the two ladies drank their potions and Millis had slowly drained a bottle empty into Lillian’s lips, they slowly watched as the Alpha crept past them.

The monster looked at the stone pillar, which had knocked it away with slight irritation before collapsing it with a single swing. It then glanced at Zeke’s current position—unaware that he had cast an invisibility spell.

With confusion flashing through its eyes, it slowly raised its whiskers towards their location—intending to probe them.

Zeke cursed inwardly as he watched the slowly approaching whiskers.

Quickly pulling back the crate into his spatial ring, he looked towards Millis, who pulled Lillian’s limp body back, trying to avoid the monster’s whiskers.

Zeke hastily joined in and threw Viesta a glance to find that she had pulled out a rather interesting-looking device from her spatial storage.

It looked extrely similar to a tool called a "Flaregun", except that it had a silver body instead of its stereotypical red colouring.

Zeke then watched as she aid at the Alpha, who had figured out sothing was odd.

From its perspective, it watched as the ends of its whiskers suddenly went transparent and disappeared—unable to reach the back of the crater in the wall.

And seeing this, it quickly drew back one of its arms and swung at them.

Right as the incoming claw crashed into the four of them, Viesta wrapped her index finger around the trigger of her "flaregun".

She then slowly inched out from the radius of Zeke’s [Transparent Curtain] and pushed down on her trigger.

And the mont that she did this—

Click.

—A resounding boom erupted from the barrel of her gun in the form of a high-pitched soundwave.

The noise echoed through the nursery and rebounded off the walls, crashing into the Alpha’s body in large tidal waves of sound.

Its whiskers, which hung in the air around them, beca stunted in their movent as they began to shake violently. And it wasn’t only them that beca frozen, but also the Alpha.

Its remaining eyes shook violently as its body seed to have shifted into a mont of paralysis.

Viesta then turned back and ordered Millis to create an escape tunnel through the back, which the Heroine promptly did.

After travelling through it and creating a room large enough to fit all of them, both Millis and Zeke looked towards Viesta, who was polishing the side of her gun.

Viesta smiled at them, "Just sothing I got made for . I call it the Sound Blaster."

She then held up four fingers, "I’ve figured out the possible evolutions the Alpha might’ve focused on."

Zeke widened his eyes and leaned in, keen about Viesta’s findings along with Millis, who was equally as keen.

Viesta, seeing that she had their attention, lowered one finger, "You have the common Barrel Mole at the Wretched stage, then you got the Savage stage, which most likely builds more on their defences.

"After that, you get the Maw stage where it probably builds more on its armour and slightly increases its size..."

Viesta then paused for a mont before adding, "Its current evolution most likely leaned more towards its size and sensitivity to sound, which is probably what its whiskers are for—sothing I concluded through the help of the bullets in my revolver."

Zeke nodded slowly at her words with a thoughtful expression, "Then, are you saying that it’s extrely sensitive to sound?"

"And general vibrations as well." Viesta nodded.

"... If what you say is correct, it would make plenty of sense why the Alpha was able to command its kin exactly where all the mages were inside the cavern."

Millis, who was glancing at the two rapidly, slowly raised her hand with a wry smile as she quietly muttered, "So... It can hear good, right? Does that an the thing can hear us in these very walls...?"

"..." x2

Viesta looked towards Zeke, "You have so kind of ability related to stealth, right? Is it still active?"

Zeke stiffened and slowly muttered, "I’ve accidentally dropped the spell..."

The mont both the ladies heard this, the room they were in shook and trembled.

Sensing a large mass of vibration appearing from one direction, Millis quickly scuttled to her feet and created a large open space behind them—enough for them to back away as the Alpha broke through.

Dust and debris scattered as they were devoured and ripped through by the Alpha.

Right before Zeke cloaked them again, Viesta flashed out her Sound Blaster and released another ear-bleeding shot, stunning the Alpha for a brief mont as they quickly escaped back to the inside of the nursery.

After Millis placed Lillian in a safe location in the walls, the three of them: Her, Viesta, and Zeke, battled the Alpha.

And as this was happening... Lillian was currently resting within her Mana Realm with a pissed off expression.

Sitting on the surface of the ocean, she rubbed the back of her head as she still felt the painful headache throb inside her head.

"Tch! This is what I get for not being quick enough..." Swinging her shaky fist, she shouted, "As soon as I wake up, I’m going all out on that bastard, I swear!"
