[On the other side of the Realm]
A tall woman with blonde hair and purple eyes whipped her wrist towards a horde of cultists, summoning a wave of electricity that washed over them and scorched their bodies.
She was the Sorceress, Lillian’s Magic Theory professor.
She glanced behind her, finding another blonde-haired woman with electricity as her ability. The only difference was that they had blue eyes and a scar on one of them.
She was Beatrice, the Student Council President.
Beatrice pumped her arms, summoning a clawed gauntlet that buzzed with lethality. She tore through her portion of the crowd with ferocity but also finesse and elegance befitting soone of her position.
"How are you doing, my dear disciple?!" The Sorceress asked, summoning a lightning strike from the sky on a designated area.
"I’m perfectly fine, Miss Danielle!" Beatrice responded, blitzing through the crowd and dyeing herself in blood.
After a few monts of this, they looked towards the side, finding a large steel spike shooting from the ground, even tearing through so of the buildings.
Sorceress smiled slightly, protecting herself with a barrier of electricity as the shadows of the spike’s tip lood over her and Beatrice.
"Looks like Corran is facing so issues to pull off such a large scale attack."
She then looked back at Beatrice and asked:
"How about your council mbers? How are they?"
Beatrice, looking back at her, used an erald pendant around her neck, an Item, to survey a specific spot in the Realm. Looking into the erald gem, she was able to glimpse her council mbers still engaged in battle.
Although they seem fatigued due to the large number of enemies, they seed to be doing rather well alongside the teachers who are fighting beside them.
"They’re still doing well and so are the professors, Miss Danielle, you know!"
The Sorceress nodded, satisfied and relieved.
She then looked behind her, looking at the gargantuan, wide building that was the Technological Building. Currently, there was no one in there besides a few.
The Head of Research, their assistant, and another.
At this point in ti, they were tasked with getting back the device that controlled the movents of portals leading in and out of the Realm. Without it, the portal bracelets that everyone had on would lead them to a random part of the Southern Region.
Now that she thought about it...
How did the invaders get inside the Realm without authorisation? The bracelets were enchanted to be bonded with their owner. Could it be that the authorisation departnt has been getting sloppy?
"Miss Danielle, please do not fall into your daydreaming! We still have work to do, you know!"
The Sorceress broke out of her daze and imdiately whipped her hand out, summoning electricity clones of herself that took on various colours and wielded weapons.
Beatrice, watching her teacher co back from her daze, looked in front of her, finding more cultists falling out of the sky.
Although the cultists who didn’t have any abilities were much less tiring to take care of, even with their regeneration factor, the ones that did have abilities were far more troubleso.
Beatrice to the side, dodging a wave of what she could only assu to be boiling mist that shot past her.
From what she gathered, the ones who were capable of magic still retained so of their consciousness and mind, which, of course, was needed to access their abilities.
However, this seed to only apply to Tier 2 or higher. This was sothing she was able to get out of one of them after pinning them down and interrogating them.
Unfortunately, that was short-lived, for any words that left their mouth seed to decay their consciousness even further to the point they would beco like the rest, unable to use mana.
However, she was able to get two crucial information out of them before it happened.
They only had access to one of their abilities, and they were all massively weakened.
As Beatrice was about to rush towards the cultist, who still retained their ability, she quickly backed off as a beam of plasma shot in the cultist’s direction.
Once the beam had dissipated, the invaders that were lingering in their direction had been completely vaporised.
Beatrice looked towards the one in charge of this, widening her eyes as she recognised the person.
Danielle, the Sorceress, looked in the direction of the newcor, widening her eyes as well with excitent at who it was.
"Another blondie in our midst!"
The newcor had blonde hair that was styled in a bob-cut, a black suit and pants with sunglasses. This was Mirage’s assistant, Vicky.
The Assistant turned to the side, finding the Sorceress rapidly approaching and hugging her side. She scowled and pried the woman off of her.
"Get off ." She muttered in a monotonous voice.
However, her words were ignored by the Sorceress.
Danielle then asked, "You’ve finally returned from your business trip! Say, did you miss the academy?!"
Vicky clicked her tongue, "No. Too much work. And I am only back because Mirage had said the likelihood that an invasion would happen today."
Looking up in the sky, the Assistant sighed, "And it seed he was right. He had also sent here to strengthen the defenses of the Technological Building."
Once she said that, wings sprouted from her back—wings that closely showed resemblance to the insect, dragonflies.
Flying into the air, she began to rain a volley of plasma beams on the enemies below, while also shooting the falling cultists out of the sky.
The three continued to fight for a while, their progress and efforts making a large difference as the number of cultists decreased around them rapidly.
Vicky, who was still soaring through the sky, froze as she noticed sothing... out of the ordinary leaving one of the rifts.
It didn’t look like another cultist.
It didn’t even look humanoid at all.
Its body was fully tallic. Sleek, smooth and sharp. It shot out of the rift like lightning with flas trailing its descent as it crashed into a nearby building and...
BOOM!
... Causing a massive explosion to erupt from its mont of contact.
