Just in ti, Cypher was running as he entered the room while catching his breathe, "I’m sorry I’m la-"

His words were cut off as professor said, "Don’t worry you’re just in ti for our lesson."

Cypher was about to go to his seat when he saw soone occupying it, his irritation doubled. He was already irritated yesterday because of his stupid actions. Despite that, he still smiled, "I’m sorry but that seat’s taken." He was smiling although his eyes were threatening the man.

Kairos only smiled, "I’m sorry but the professor said to sit whichever I like so go sit on another one."

Cypher gritted his teeth, forcing to calm himself, "Okay," he turned to look at Ezekiel who was seated behind Remillia.

Ezekiel felt goosebumps when he looked at Cypher, he was smiling at him and he already knew what to do, he quickly pack up his stuff and offered his seat for him. "Y-you can have my seat."

"Thank you."

After class ended, I went to my next class and Kairos was also there although he seated not too far away from . Then next class ca and he was also there! For the whole day, it seed like Kairos had beco my shadow except for lunch and when I was infront of my dorm room, he still followed .

That’s when I faced him, "Excuse but are you following ?"

He looked at her, one of his eyebrows raised, he didn’t answer her instead, he walked past her and unlocked the door next to her. "I’m sorry, miss but as you can see, I live in this room."

Remillia’s cheeks flushed a deep shade of red as she realized her mistake. She quickly tried to recover, stamring out an apology. "Oh, I—I’m sorry! I didn’t know..."

Kairos gave her a smile, his eyes twinkling with amusent. "No need to apologize," he said smoothly, opening the door to his room. "It seems that we’ll be neighbors so may I ask what your na is?"

Still embarrassed, Remillia mumbled her na before quickly turning to unlock her own door.

Exam week flew by in a blur of papers and stress. Remillia, however, found herself more preoccupied with observing Kairos than worrying about the exams. She simply watched how he navigated the academy, blending in as a typical student. Sotis, when they’re seated together he would ask her about formulas or terms he didn’t understand, and though he was often surrounded by girls, he wasn’t really interested. Rather, he would bury himself in reading than converse with them.

Combat exam week cos next, the atmosphere was charged with tension. Each class lined up in front of one AeroSpecter, a massive aircraft designed to transport up to 200 passengers. The students were abuzz with nervous energy, chatting among themselves, their excitent tinged with anxiety about the challenges ahead.

Before anyone could board, the instructors ticulously inspected every student’s belongings. The inspection was thorough, ensuring no prohibited items were smuggled aboard that could give an unfair advantage or cause harm during the exams.

When it was my turn, I handed my backpack to the instructor in charge, who began to inspect its contents. Inside it was my infinite pouch disguised as a normal pouch, a few sets of clothes, and my daggers. After a mont, the instructor returned my backpack to , "You may go inside now, goodluck and stay alive!"

I was about to step inside when I suddenly got nervous when she said that and was about to question her when she shouted, "Next! We don’t have all day!"

Since she was the fifth one to enter, she chose a seat near the window and imdiately closed her eyes, hoping to catch so much-needed rest for the upcoming exam. The quiet hum of the AeroSpecter’s engines and the gentle vibrations of the aircraft provided a soothing backdrop, lulling her into a light doze.

Unbeknownst to her, the next person to board the plane was Kairos, who casually scanned the seats before spotting Remillia. Without hesitation, he chose the seat right next to her. The subtle tension between them from the past few weeks seed to hang in the air, but Kairos was unfazed. He glanced at her briefly, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he noticed her already dozing off.

As more students began to fill the seats, so noticed the seating arrangent and exchanged knowing looks, the whispers began to circulate between them.

"These past few days, Caleo likes to stick with Remillia," one student murmured, her eyes darting toward the pair as they sat quietly, Remillia still resting with her eyes closed.

Another student leaned in, adding, "I can’t help but wonder what happened between her and Cypher? Usually, he’s the one who’s always beside Remillia."

A third student, unable to contain her admiration, sighed, "Oh right, I forgot about Cypher because of Caleo. He’s just so handso!"

Cypher, who boarded shortly after, caught sight of the situation and clenched his jaw but didn’t say anything. Instead, he chose a seat further back, his irritation barely concealed as he watched Kairos from a distance.

Kairos, on the other hand, remained composed, seemingly indifferent to the stares and whispers around him. He leaned back in his seat, occasionally glancing at Remillia, who remained blissfully unaware of the attention they were attracting.

After 5 hours, the pilot’s voice crackled over the intercom, announcing that they would be landing shortly. The students, who had been either dozing off or lost in their own thoughts, began to stir, tension rising as they anticipated what lay ahead.

Instructor Jude stood up at the front of the cabin, his stern gaze sweeping across the students. "Listen up!" he called out, his voice cutting through the low hum of the aircraft. "Grab your belongings now. Your combat exam begins as soon as we land. For the entire week, all first years will be living on an island. Your objective is simple: gather as many points as possible."

He paused, letting the gravity of his words sink in. "You can earn points in two ways. First, by killing monsters. The points range from 100 to 500— the lowest is 100 points for killing low-rank monsters and the highest is 500 points for killing high-rank monsters. Second, you can eliminate other students by stealing their badges. Each badge you obtain is worth 50 points. You may use whatever thod you like."

A murmur of excitent and apprehension rippled through the students.

Instructor Jude continued, "Food supplies are hidden around the island, so I suggest you find food and shelter first before you start hunting monsters or eliminating other students. You can also group yourself as many as you want or the whole class can be a group whatever you want to do, the important thing is, survive and earn as many points as you can before you get eliminated. This is as much a test of your survival skills as it is of your combat abilities. Once you are eliminated, supervisors will co and fetch you up then you’ll spend the rest of the days on a cruise ship until the combat exam ended."

He surveyed the room one last ti, his expression hard. "This is your final exam. Make it count."

After that, he handed out everyone a parachute and gave them a warm smile, One last thing, this aircraft will not land. Instead you all will be landing thru air in," he looked at his watch. "10...9...8..."

The students panicked as they realized the instructor wasn’t joking. They quickly wore the parachute and grab their belongings.

"2...1... Good luck!"

The mont Instructor Jude finished his countdown, the floor of the AeroSpecter gave way beneath them. The students shouted in fear while the others calmly fell down.

"Wait ahhh!!"

"I didn’t sign up for this sh-!!!"

"What kind of exam is this?!!!"

There was no ti to think, only react. Remillia, fully awake now, felt the rush of air as she plumted toward the island below. Her heart raced, but her instincts kicked in imdiately. She quickly reached for the ripcord of her parachute, pulling it as the ground rapidly approached.

Around her, the other students were doing the sa, their parachutes blossoming in the sky like a cluster of flowers. The initial panic had given way to a mix of adrenaline and determination. Everyone knew what was at stake.

Remillia adjusted her descent, steering herself toward a dense section of forest. She knew that landing in the open would make her an easy target for both monsters and other students. The sound of the wind rushing past her was deafening, but her mind was focused, already planning her next move once she hit the ground.

As she descended, she caught glimpses of her classmates scattered across the sky, so struggling with their parachutes, others already maneuvering with practiced ease. The island below was a mix of dense jungle, rocky cliffs, and open beaches. The instructors had chosen this location for its diverse and challenging terrain.
