... It’s true that Kaelith Bloodfane was the one who defeated all the Chromids but unfortunately, Arkus Maguire stabbed him behind the back. Kaelith didn’t have the chance to fight back as he exhausted all his mana in defending his team from being devoured at the sa ti attacking those monsters that ca close to them.
Arkus Maguire and Kaelith Bloodfane were rivals although Kaelith tried his best to befriend Arkus ever since they were in the Academy. They even went to the sa guild but because of Arkus’ inferiority complex towards Kaelith, he hated everything about him, everyti he completed a quest, Kaelith would complete an even bigger quest so when they were tasked to complete a mission, that’s when he saw an opportunity, he stabbed Kaelith and pushed him on a cliff.
Once their teammates regained their consciousness, they only found Arkus standing on a cliff and crying that Kaelith sacrificed his life for saving them. They believed him and mourned for Kaelith but for the wrong reason. Ever since they got out and proclaid that they conquered the fortress, they requested the Nexus to find his body but no one found any whereabouts to where his body is since then.
Arkus Maguire was given a dal of honor and bravery and they also built a statue for him beside the entrance of the Spire of the Damned.

I swear I will find his body and give him a proper burial like he deserved.

I didn’t hear a word anymore as I finally drifted to sleep.
The next day, I woke up early morning to pack my belongings in the mystic maravilla and planned a trip to go to Eldridge, a neighboring country of Aeonia. That is where the Spire of the Damned is located.
"Macaron, do you want to go with to visit another country?"
"Geez, you’re beginning to get cranky. Stop that or you’ll get more older."
"I’m always like this... Well, sotis."

I swear he’s acting like a teenager. My gosh, is this how parents feel when their kids turned into teenagers? It must be stressful for them.
"Oh, okay. Stay here then, I’m leaving."
Macaron flew straight into and hug my legs as I was about to step out.
"Fine, but promise that you’ll behave and try to act like a normal bird once where in Eldrida."
He hopped into my shoulder but I stopped him.
"You need to exit in the balcony, no one must see you here. You know where the portal is right? et there."
I first watched him leave before opening the door.

These days, I was still not used to Cypher greeting every morning as I opened my door to attend class. It’s like he knows what my schedule is.

Yep, you heard it right. According to him, ever since the incident with Claire, his room was in a ss so the staff in charge of our dorm told him that he will occupy the room next to since it’s empty. Although I have my suspicions, I didn’t mind since he was the protagonist.

Macaron was busy vomiting up inside his cage as I watched him sympathetically. The portal conductors have travel cages for pets, animals, and even monsters that you need to put them in since they’ll also be inspected.
’Poor Macaron, this must be his first ti entering a portal.’
I have no choice since the portal security going to Eldridge is much tighter than the other portals. After entering Eldridge, we must pass another security to check our identity.
"Please show your I.D."
I showed him my student I.D.

I went to where Macaron is and carried him up.
"You okay?"
"By the way, when we go back, you need to pass at the Portal again."

Macaron seems like he want to vomit again so I quickly went outside and walked to a nearby tree.
"Vomit here."
Now that Macaron’s okay, I let him fly to locate where the Spire of the Damned is as I closely followed him from behind.
After two to three hours, I finally found the Fortress but it was filled with tourists picturing here and there and what annoyed more is that at the entrance of it stood a statue of Arkus.
"Hey Macaron after were done with our little expedition. Care to destroy that statue for ?"
"You want to co inside or hunt for a while?"
"Suit yourself, I’m going now. Let’s et here later."
