They landed hard.

Alex’s back hit stone, the impact driving the air from his lungs. For a long mont, he couldn’t move, couldn’t think, could only gasp and try to rember how breathing worked.

Lucas.

He forced his eyes open, forced his body to move despite every muscle screaming in protest.

They were in a cave. Small, natural, lit by faint bioluminescent fungi on the walls. A pool of clear water in one corner. No imdiate threats visible.

And Lucas—

Lucas lay a few feet away, still in wolf form, still bleeding. The wound on his chest was horrific—deep, ragged, clearly life-threatening.

"No no no no no—"

Alex crawled to him, hands pressing against the wound, trying to stem the flow of blood that soaked through his fingers with terrifying speed.

The cave was silent except for Lucas’s labored breathing and Alex’s desperate sobs.

Lucas’s eyes opened.

Pale blue, hazy with pain, but focused on Alex with an intensity that stole his breath.

"You’re... alive," Lucas rasped.

"Don’t talk. Save your strength—"

"For what?" A ghost of a smile. "I’m dying, Alex. I’ve seen enough death to know."

"No. No, you can’t. You can’t just—I ca back to talk to you. To explain. To—"

"You don’t owe explanations." Lucas’s voice was weakening, each word an effort. "You made your choice. I respected it. That’s... that’s what pack lords do."

"You’re an idiot," Alex choked out. "You threw yourself in front of claws ant for . Why?"

Lucas’s eyes held his, pale and steady despite the pain.

"Because you’re worth protecting. You always were."

" System."

[His injuries are severe. Without imdiate treatnt, he will die within minutes.]

"Then help ! What do I do?"

The mall interface flickered to life in Alex’s vision, translucent and urgent.

Alex’s bloodied hands were still pressed against Lucas’s chest, feeling the wolf lord’s heartbeat growing weaker beneath his palms.

"I need the stabilization pack," he said, his voice cracking. "The 2,000 SP one. I don’t care if I go into debt—"

[Host cannot go into debt. System requires minimum 10% credit buffer for ergency survival protocols. Maximum credit expenditure allowed at this mont: 1,687 SP. ]

"What?! That’s not—"

Lucas made a sound—soft, pained—and Alex looked down to see those pale eyes fluttering closed.

"No. No, Lucas, stay with . Stay with !"

[Host. The Advanced Wound Closure Pill is 1,200 SP. Combined with accelerated healing assistance from Host’s own body—the bond you share with your mates might extend to ergency situations. He’s dying, but he’s dying because he protected you. That matters. Bonds aren’t just romantic—they’re connections. Intentions. He offered himself to you once. That offer still echoes.]

"I don’t understand—"

[Buy the pill. NOW. And then bond with him.]

Alex didn’t question further.

[PURCHASING ADVANCED WOUND CLOSURE PILL - 1,200 SP]

[REMAINING BALANCE: 675 SP]

Alex’s trembling fingers closed around the small, glowing vial that materialized in his palm—cool glass, warm light pulsing inside like a trapped heartbeat. The Advanced Wound Closure Pill. He tore the seal with his teeth, spitting plastic into the dirt.

"Lucas—open your mouth. Please."

Lucas’s eyes cracked open again, duller now, the pale blue fading toward gray. He was too weak to lift his head. Alex cradled the back of his skull with one blood-slick hand and tipped the pill between his lips, following it with a careful trickle of water from the nearby pool scooped in his cupped palm.

Lucas swallowed. Barely.

The effect was almost imdiate.

A soft, wet sound—like torn flesh knitting itself together—ca from the gaping wound. The ragged edges pulled inward, blood slowing from a river to a sluggish seep. Skin began to creep across muscle, clumsy and pink and new. But it wasn’t enough. Not nearly fast enough. The pill was sealing the surface, stopping the catastrophic bleed-out, but Lucas’s heartbeat still fluttered like a dying bird beneath Alex’s palm. Internal damage. Shock. Blood loss too massive.

The System’s voice returned, clinical and quiet.

[The pill has stabilized the exterior wound. Internal hemorrhage continues. Without accelerated cellular regeneration, organ failure in ≈4 minutes.]

The System’s words hung in the air like a command and a plea at once.

[Accelerated regeneration requires a direct energy transfer through the mate bond. Physical. Intentional. Complete. The deeper the connection in this mont, the stronger the healing surge. You must bond with him—body, intent, and will—before his systems shut down.]

Alex’s pulse roared in his ears. Bond with him. Here. Now. With blood still warm on his hands and death breathing down both their necks.

He looked at Lucas.

The wolf lord’s chest rose and fell in shallow, uneven hitches. He painstakingly transford. Matted fur dark with blood, receding into humanlike features. His powerful limbs gone slack against cold stone. But those pale eyes—when they managed to focus—still burned with that sa stubborn, quiet devotion that had made Alex run in the first place.

"I’m not losing you," Alex whispered, voice raw. "Not after everything."

He shifted, straddling Lucas’s hips carefully, mindful of the still-healing wound. The wolf’s body heat bled through flesh and skin, feverish, alive, clinging. Alex leaned down until their foreheads touched, breathing the sa ragged air.

"Lucas." He said the na like a spell. "I need you to hear . I’m going to bond with you. Right now. All the way. If you can... if there’s any strength left... let in."

A low, broken sound rumbled in Lucas’s throat—not quite a growl, more surrender. His eyes flickered open wider, pupils blown despite the pain.

Alex didn’t wait for more permission.

He kissed him—hard, desperate, tasting ozone and icy mountain that was pure Lucas. The wolf lord’s mouth opened under his instantly, weak but hungry, tongue sliding against Alex’s in a slow, trembling claim. A spark flared between them, electric, like the System had been waiting for this exact point of contact.

[Initiating ergency mate-bond protocol. Energy transfer comncing on mutual climax.]

Clothes were an afterthought. Alex tore at his own torn shirt, then his hands carefully roam around the wound, ruthless everywhere else. Hands trembling as Lucas shuddered, unconsciously subtly closing the distance toward human under the pull of the desire. Broad shoulders, scarred chest, the silver trail of hair leading down. Cock already thickening, heavy against his thigh despite everything.

Alex groaned into Lucas’s mouth at the sight.

He wrapped a blood-streaked hand around Lucas’s length—hot, velvet-hard, pulsing—and stroked once, firm. Lucas arched, a choked whine escaping his throat, hips jerking up into the touch.

"Easy," Alex breathed against his jaw. "Let take care of you."

He shifted lower, kissing a frantic path down Lucas’s throat, over collarbone, pausing to lave gently at the edge of the closing wound. The skin there tasted of iron and new flesh. Lucas’s fingers—claws retracted—dug weakly into Alex’s hair, trembling.

Alex didn’t tease. There wasn’t ti.

He spat into his palm, slicked himself with quick, rough strokes—already painfully hard from adrenaline, fear, and the raw magnetic pull of the bond. Then he reached back, worked two spit-slick fingers into himself just enough to ease the way. No patience for more. He needed this. Needed Lucas inside him, needed to surround him, needed to pull life back into him with every thrust.

When he sank down onto Lucas’s cock, they both cried out.

Tight. Burning. Perfect.

Lucas’s hips snapped up instinctively—weak, but enough to drive deeper. Alex’s thighs shook as he bottod out, ass flush against Lucas’s hips, the stretch almost too much and exactly right. He could feel every thick inch of him, every frantic heartbeat echoed through that intimate connection.

He started moving—slow at first, grinding in deep circles, then faster, harder. Skin slapped against skin in the quiet cave. Wet, obscene sounds mixed with their gasping breaths.

Lucas’s hands found Alex’s hips, claws pricking just enough to sting, grounding them both.

"Alex—" The na was wrecked, reverent.

Alex leaned forward, changing the angle, letting Lucas’s cock drag over that spot inside him that made stars explode behind his eyes. One hand braced on stone beside Lucas’s head; the other wrapped around both their cocks—his own leaking, flushed dark, sliding against Lucas’s belly with every roll of his hips.

A silver tattoo of Wolf’s head appeared on Alex’s right bicep—its pale blue eyes flared hotter, brighter. Warmth poured from Alex’s core into Lucas’s body like liquid sunlight—nding torn muscle, staunching invisible bleeds, forcing oxygen-starved organs to rember how to function.

Lucas’s eyes snapped wide, pupils blown black.

"Close—Alex—"

"Co for ," Alex growled, voice breaking. "Fill . Let feel you. Let the bond take it all."

Lucas’s hips stuttered, then drove up hard—once, twice—burying himself to the hilt as he ca with a raw, shattered sound. Heat flooded Alex’s insides, pulse after pulse, and the bond ignited.

White light surged behind Alex’s eyes.

Pleasure crashed through him like a breaker—his own release ripping out of him in thick, ssy stripes across Lucas’s chest and throat. He clenched down hard around Lucas, milking every drop, riding the waves until his vision tunneled and his legs gave out.

He collapsed onto Lucas’s chest, both of them trembling, slick with sweat and co and drying blood.

For several long heartbeats, neither moved.

Then Lucas exhaled—a long, steady breath that didn’t hitch.

[Regeneration surge complete. Vital signs stabilizing. Internal hemorrhage resolved. Host bond strength: 87% and rising.]
