Ariel had not killed anyone.

It ant she had been falsely accused.

'Who could have...'

My thoughts froze in confusion.

As I just stared blankly up at Han Yeoreum, she began laughing elegantly like a noblewoman.

"You see, I'm quite skilled at fortune-telling. The reading just showed there's a chance of innocence."

"F-fortune telling...?"

"Yes. It's quite accurate."

That was a lie.

Han Yeoreum couldn't read fortunes.

She had never laughed elegantly like a noblewoman either.

She usually just laughed innocently like a simple girl.

'What's this...'

Why was Han Yeoreum suddenly acting strange?

As I pondered this, I noticed the researchers and soldiers who had followed us.

Could she have thought the person who frad Ariel was in the facility?

If so, it made sense to act foolishly.

Since researchers who might have frad Ariel were watching us.

"Ariel, our fortune-telling is really accurate. We get it right one out of six tis."

I held up six fingers toward Ariel.

I grinned foolishly while stating this deliberately ambiguous probability.

It was to let the watching researchers and soldiers lower their guard.

One in six?

Are they joking around?

We tried to make the researchers think that.

"One in six..."

"That's enough hope, isn't it...?"

"Ah..."

Ariel hung her head low.

She seed to think we were spouting nonsense.

Though I felt sorry for Ariel, we needed to act as foolish as possible right now.

"Ariel, how about asking for a retrial?"

"Yeah. That sounds good."

Han Yeoreum took both mine and Ariel's hands.

Then she moved casually toward the break room.

"...The evidence against her is solid, there's no way she'll be found innocent."

We heard a researcher's bewildered voice following behind.

Han Yeoreum laughed elegantly and waved her hand.

"Oh, you never know."

"That's right, that's right."

The reason we were forcefully taking Ariel to the break room:

The children were still there.

If we tried to save Ariel here, it might cause problems for the children in the break room.

The fight should happen where everyone was gathered.

Han Yeoreum and I quickly exchanged glances.

"Um, suddenly doing this... ah..."

With Ariel's sigh, Han Yeoreum opened the break room door.

Thankfully, the children were fine.

"Children."

"King!"

"Shuin!"

The children ca trotting over at my call.

Wondering how to explain the situation to them, I decided to reference a cartoon they liked.

"Kids, we're in trouble. This is like Animal King season 6."

"What?!"

"...!"

Animal King season 6.

The season where people thought to be allies turned out to be enemies.

It was content our Animal King-loving children had watched many tis.

"What do we do then?!"

Levinas waved her outstretched arms up and down.

Han Yeoreum pulled sothing from her chest.

It was a blue jewel-like item.

"What's going on?"

Finding our panicked behavior strange, Evelyn approached with clicking footsteps.

My tension rose with each click of her heels.

As my heart pounded, Han Yeoreum carefully spoke.

Her expression was quite serious, unlike her elegant laughing earlier.

"...Do you use innocent people as test subjects here?"

"No. We only use people who have been properly sentenced."

"Then why is there an innocent person?"

"...?"

At Han Yeoreum's question, Evelyn looked at another researcher.

Finding their extended eye contact exchange strange, Han Yeoreum activated the item in her hand.

Woong-!

It was a protection item Jung Yu-na had made for everyone in the guild.

I felt blue mana barriers envelop our bodies.

"Wh-what...!"

Sensing the situation turning dangerous, the soldiers gripped their guns.

However, they didn't aim at us.

"......"

The tension felt like it would make my body burst.

As my hands and feet tingled, Levinas, hiding behind Han Yeoreum, threw seeds toward the floor.

"Yap!"

Levinas activated plant magic with a shout.

Seeing the rapidly growing plants, the soldiers aid their guns at us.

"Stop!"

"If you don't comply... w-wait, these plants...!"

The vines Levinas created enveloped everyone in the break room.

Ratatat-

Several bullets flew toward us.

Though the barrier would block them, Han Yeoreum knocked them all away with her sword.

"Code Green activated...!"

"Aaah!"

The soldiers' gunfire quickly ceased.

Thanks to Levinas's vines binding all the researchers and soldiers in the break room.

No one could move against the vines that had subdued even the massive Teranos.

"Wh-why...?!"

Han Yeoreum approached Evelyn, who was struggling against the vines.

I followed behind Han Yeoreum with the children.

Ariel, who had been watching carefully, followed us too.

"...Evelyn, as you can see, we each have unique abilities we call traits. These vines were made by Levinas."

Han Yeoreum placed her hand on the vines Levinas had created.

Evelyn groaned in pain, seemingly from her arms being bound by the vines.

"...What are you trying to say?"

"I'm saying my ability is information."

"Information...?"

"Yes. While I can't discover all information in the world, I can at least tell that Ariel is innocent."

At the words that Ariel was innocent, Evelyn's pupils shook.

It was hard to read what she was thinking.

"Is that information reliable?"

"Yes. While it sotis gives roundabout answers, it's never given wrong information. Would you like to give consent?"

"Consent? What kind of consent?"

"Consent to verify information. I think you need to see it yourself to believe."

"...I don't really understand, but alright."

With Evelyn's acceptance, a translucent window appeared.

It showed Evelyn's physical information.

I wasn't sure how it worked, but it showed different information each ti we looked.

"Evelyn Benchetrit, height 165 centiters, weight..."

"W-wait! Wait! Eek!"

As Han Yeoreum started reading Evelyn's information, Evelyn scread.

Startled by the loud noise, Gaeul pulled a lemon from her pocket.

"Yak! Yak!"

Gaeul held out the lemon threateningly.

It was a magic lemon with extrely high acidity.

If any juice leaked out, soone might get hurt.

"Gaeul, the lemon is too dangerous."

"Heuk..."

While I stopped Gaeul, Han Yeoreum and Evelyn continued their conversation.

Their expressions were too serious for to interrupt.

"I understand. You used that ability to check Ariel and found she was innocent?"

"Yes. She's never killed anyone."

"I swear to heaven, we knew nothing."

"Hmm..."

Han Yeoreum crossed her arms and glared at Evelyn.

Evelyn's gaze fell to her tablet on the floor.

"The tablet, let check the tablet. The evidence is there."

"I'll check. What should I look for?"

"...There's a biotric system. You shouldn't do it, Yeoreum."

It had to be her.

At that firm look, Han Yeoreum turned to Levinas.

Levinas gestured toward Evelyn.

Rustle-

The vines moved, releasing Evelyn's bound body.

Levinas's ability was amazing no matter how many tis I saw it.

The tablet played video of Ariel committing cris.

It was so brutal that the children and I weren't allowed to watch.

"How is it? That's Ariel, right?"

"Yes. It's definitely Ariel."

I only saw the scenes before the cris, but it was clearly Ariel in the footage.

However, I trusted Han Yeoreum's ability more than the video.

Though Evelyn seed not to.

"Is there no chance your ability could be wrong?"

"No. Information abilities have never given wrong information."

"Then..."

Evelyn's brow furrowed.

Seeing her thoughtful expression, I tugged on her coat.

"What's wrong?"

"Maybe..."

"Maybe?"

"...Maybe the MS in the neighboring sector's containnt cell might be an information manipulation type."

Suddenly ntioning the neighboring sector's containnt cell.

Where did this information co from?

My head tilted in confusion.

"Maybe?"

"Yes. I'm not certain. I just used deduction thods for dealing with information manipulation MS."

"D-deduction?"

I didn't understand at all.

Han Yeoreum seed to be in the sa situation, keeping her mouth shut.

"If Ariel was truly frad, soone might be using an information manipulation MS."

"How did your deduction lead to that conclusion..."

I couldn't finish my question.

Because Evelyn had started moving sowhere.

As we stared blankly at her retreating back, we decided to follow her.
