After leaving the gym, Kaito and Eris walked side by side down the street for the ti being. As for their current situation, it had originally been Kaito who invited Eris, whom he happened to run into by chance, and now that their intended gym experience was over, there hadn’t been any prior arrangent about what to do afterward.

As such, it wouldn’t have been strange for them to simply part ways here, but Kaito found that option a little unsatisfying in its own way. At the sa ti, he hesitated, wondering whether it was right to keep Eris, who had originally co into town for her own reasons, along with him any longer for his own convenience.

However, since there was no clear plan for where to go next, his thoughts were gradually leaning toward simply calling it a day…… though whether it was a good thing or not, Eris, who had ample experience dealing with people through high society, picked up on Kaito’s feelings to so extent and offered a suggestion to help him out.

[……Kaito-sama, do you have any plans after this?]

[Ah, no, I really just ca to try out the gym, so I hadn’t thought about anything afterward at all.]

[Then how about this? We did a fair amount of exercise, and although it’s a bit late, it is around lunchti…… if you don’t mind, would you like to go get sothing to eat?]

[Oh, that sounds great. Each activity was fairly light on its own, but altogether we did quite a bit, and I’m getting hungry.]

[As for the restaurant, there’s a place I had planned to visit, would that be alright? As you can see from how I’m dressed, it’s not a high-end establishnt, just an ordinary dining place……]

[Honestly, that sounds better to , I can relax more that way.]

Eris had certainly been dragged around by Kaito on a regular basis, enduring quite a number of stomach-aching situations because of it…… but at her core, she found Kaito’s character likable.

Moreover, she was the type who could properly switch her mindset, and fundantally, she was kind and gentle. When she first ran into Kaito, she had been surprised, and yes, it had caused her no small amount of stress…… but setting that aside, now that they had t and were spending ti together, she wanted both to make sure Kaito enjoyed himself and for she herself to have so fun as well.

That was why she made gestures like this, sensing Kaito’s feelings and taking the initiative to invite him to a al, and also why she considered his preferences, deciding that a casual restaurant suited him better than a high-end one she might otherwise choose.

Of course, she would very much prefer to avoid unexpectedly running into outrageous individuals like Magnawell again…… but aside from that, she genuinely found the ti spent with Kaito to be enjoyable rather than burdenso.

Well, combined with her thoughtfulness and gentle nature, Kaito’s opinion of her was steadily rising, leaving her sowhat puzzled by the outco.

In any case, having agreed to go for a al together, the two of them began heading toward the restaurant under Eris’s guidance.

[……Co to think of it, Eris-san, do you often…… how should I put it…… go out into the streets like that?]

[Not frequently, but I do visit from ti to ti like this. It’s not that I feel stifled by life as a noble. If I had to say, I simply believe that nobles should step into the city more and experience things firsthand. I think it’s foolish to cling to the rigid notion that nobles are above and commoners below, but even so, there are many things you cannot understand from only one perspective, whether that be the noble side or the commoner side. Rather than rely knowing sothing as knowledge, I believe that by actually experiencing it, one can broaden their horizons. As is the case with the Hydra Kingdom, the power of the people grows with the tis…… and we nobles, too, must change. This is part of that.]

[That’s…… how should I put it, an incredibly admirable way of thinking.]

[……Well, that’s the official explanation.]

[Unn?]

Despite being younger than Kaito, Eris wore a composed, mature expression befitting a noble…… her words carrying a sense of responsibility and pride akin to noblesse oblige. As Kaito looked at her with admiration, Eris relaxed her expression and let out a wry smile.

[In truth, it’s just personal preference and a way to unwind. It’s not that I feel suffocated by noble life, but sotis I want a change of pace, a different environnt. So I co out like this on occasions like that.]

[Ahh, yeah, that makes sense. Being a noble seems like it’d be ntally exhausting in a lot of ways.]

[Yes. To put it bluntly, it’s a way to relax and a hobby. But for nobles, appearances are important in everything. So, to answer your question…… as a noble, the answer is that it’s an inspection carried out as part of my duties. Responding as Kaito-sama's friend…… this is simply just a hobby. I enjoy seeing and experiencing new things.]

Eris smiled as she said that, clearly enjoying herself, and Kaito couldn’t help but smile along with her.

(……Anyhow, if Kaito-sama takes the lead, I have a feeling we’ll end up running into another outrageous individual, so perhaps it’s better if I’m the one deciding where we go……)

Serious-senpai : [That’s exactly why Kaito’s affection for her keeps going up.]

? ? ? : [When Eris talks with Kaito, she basically switches from being a noble to acting like a friend. She probably understands that Kaito prefers it that way. Compared to soone like Cornelia, the casualness she shows, like using a joking way of phrasing her words like she did this ti, is likely a big reason why Kaito finds her so likable.]
