Friendship City Hikari, on the second floor of the diner Suiren…… After waking up and taking a light shower, Kaori was toweling herself off in the changing area when her gaze drifted to the large mirror.
She’d bought a high-quality full-length mirror recently, thanks to having a bit more financial leeway. But as she looked at the reflection staring back at her, her expression turned thoughtful.
(……Hmmm…… my skin really is pretty, isn’t it? I an, I’ve noticed it before, but it feels like it’s getting even prettier……)
Even taking into account that she’d just gotten out of the bath, the skin reflected in the mirror looked beautiful, clearly different from how she’d looked before.
(That little wrinkle at the corner of my eye I was worried about disappeared before I knew it, and my skin looks…… fresh? Firm? Did that new toner and lotion I switched to really suit that well? No, this isn’t the kind of improvent you get just from skincare. This is sothing else…… that glow you only get from youth itself…… and it’s not just my face, right? Even my hands…… they’re pretty now?)
Running a diner by herself ant Kaori constantly worked with water, cooking, washing dishes. Even with her skill in water magic to simplify things, she always had to worry about her hands getting rough.
But now, her hands showed no sign of dryness at all. If anything, no one would believe she spent most of her day doing chores involving water.
(I an, I am happy my skin is getting prettier but…… this obviously isn’t sothing I achieved through effort. It’s not skincare, not my diet…… it feels like sothing supernatural got involved…… arehh? Wait. I feel like I’m forgetting sothing important…… errr……)
As she examined the changes in her own body, Kaori pressed a finger to her forehead, certain she’d forgotten sothing significant.
———–As thanks for everything you do on a daily basis, I’ve given you sothing close to a Blessing.
And then, like a ssage from above, the words Olivia told her through telepathy during that earlier three-person date with Kaito and Olivia rose to the surface of her mind.
(A- Aaahhh!? I- I rember now! Right, Olivia-sama said sothing weird back then! And I was going to ask her for details later, but after that the date kept throwing surprises at , and all my attention got dragged away, I completely forgot!)
Yes, Olivia had said sothing that sounded very much like she had bestowed a blessing upon Kaori. Kaori had intended to ask her more about it later.
But after being dragged around, acting practically like lovers, and ending the day with a hug with Kaito, even if it was just how things naturally flowed, she’d completely forgotten.
(So this is that, right? That has to be what’s causing this. I- I need to properly confirm this with Olivia-sama…… but how? I don’t want to ask her while she’s at the diner. There are always other custors around, and I already draw too much attention. If it becos obvious that I received sothing like a Blessing from Olivia-sama…… n- no, asking at the diner is out.)
Olivia visited her shop regularly for als, so eting her wasn’t a problem, but given the sensitive nature of the subject, Kaori didn’t want to ask her sowhere others might overhear.
(In that case, the best option is to go to Olivia-sama herself and talk. Today is a regular day off, so I have ti. Olivia-sama will definitely be at the Central Cathedral, and if I go see her…… she’ll probably et with …… I think……)
Olivia may hold the extrely high position of Founder, but Kaori felt confident that their relationship was close enough that, if she went to visit, Olivia would likely make ti to et her.
So the chances of eting her by going to the cathedral were high…… but the Grand Cathedral, the central seat of the world-spanning Godism, was an enormous and overwhelmingly majestic structure.
(……Still, going there and asking soone to arrange an audience with Olivia-sama feels intimidating, or maybe I’m just anxious about going alone…… If only Kaito-kun could co with …… If he did, I’d feel so much more comfortable……)
If Kaito accompanied her, Olivia would undoubtedly be delighted, and Kaori herself would feel more at ease. And if anything happened, she had the comforting thought that Kaito might help her.
As she pondered these things, a hummingbird arrived from Kaito, abruptly and at the perfect mont.
[……From Kaito-kun? What’s this about?]
Murmuring to herself, she checked the contents: he had sothing he needed to talk about and wanted to et. For the current Kaori, it was exactly the opportunity she was hoping for.
She didn’t know what Kaito’s matter was, but even if eting today wasn’t possible, she could at least ask him to accompany her to the cathedral another day. Kaori had no reason to refuse.
(If Kaito-kun has so ti, I’ll ask him to co with to the Cathedral. But well, putting that aside…… my skin really has gotten pretty. I- I’m looking pretty good, aren’t I? Not like a world-class beauty or anything, of course, but maybe…… cute? Or even kind of pretty? I think I might actually pull off that level now?)
Though she was uneasy due to not knowing the details of the Blessing, the clear improvent in her skin, sothing she’d been worrying about a lot as she approached 30, made her honestly happy. And so, gazing at her reflection, Kaori wore a bright, pleased expression for a good while.
Serious-senpai : [T- This…… which one is it? Is this going to lead into stomachache developnt because of the Blessing or because of the matsutake, or into a date…… W- Which one is it……?]
