It goes without saying that there’s a clear difference between the Six Kings themselves and their Executives. Even those who serve directly under the Six Kings are individuals of extraordinary ability, true elites who could be said to stand among the very best in the world. Their fa and influence are equally imnse, and even a noble must tread carefully when dealing with them, for a single misstep could an losing one’s position entirely.
However, compared to them, the Six Kings themselves exist on an entirely different plane. While, on paper, the Demon Realm respects the Human Realm under the terms of the Friendship Treaty, and the Divine Realm often interacts with humanity through blessings and divine protections, making it seem as though the Six Kings stand as equals to the Human Realm's Three Rulers, in reality, the Six Kings’ authority and stature far surpass that of any human monarch.
For Cornelia, a re noble’s daughter, they are truly beings among the clouds, far beyond her reach. Even among the heads of noble houses, very few have ever spoken directly with one of the Six Kings, and to have any personal connection with them is, in itself, an extraordinary mark of status among the nobility.
(T- T- Two of the Six Kings are here!? N- Not only that, it's War King-sama and Dragon King-sama……)
Though all of the Six Kings possess overwhelming power and authority, so are relatively approachable, while others are nearly impossible to interact with.
First, there are those with whom contact is essentially impossible, the Death King and the Phantasmal King. With the Death King Isis, this is only natural. It was only quite recently, with the control accessory granted by Kanaris, that communication even beca possible. Before that, one couldn’t so much as approach her without possessing power equal to that of a Peerage Holder. Given that, across all of Humanity, there are only about four individuals of that level, it was inevitable that no Human could normally hope to et her.
As for the Phantasmal King, the very act of the Phantasmal King appearing before a noble almost always signified a death sentence for said noble, making any kind of "interaction" impossible. Nowadays, she occasionally appears thanks to Kaito’s influence, but before his arrival in Trinia, she was a presence rarely seen outside of the Festival of Heroes.
By contrast, the easiest of the Six Kings to approach are the gentle-minded Underworld King and World King. Underworld King Kuromueina serves as the de facto representative of the Demon Realm and thus often appears in public. She personally runs nurous businesses, frequently interacts with Humans, and even travels to various cities simply to sample local cuisine, making her the most approachable among the Six Kings.
World King Lillywood does not visit the Human Realm as often as Kuromueina, yet compared to the other Six Kings, she still appears as a guest at many Human events. Her kind and gentle disposition makes her another comparatively easy ruler to engage with.
On the other hand, while interaction is possible with the War King and Dragon King, it is far from easy. War King giddo, as one might expect, holds little fondness for nobles and has a consistent tendency to kill anyone who displeases them. As such, establishing rapport with them is exceedingly difficult. They do visit the Human Realm from ti to ti, and if one earns their favor, there may be a chance to interact, but approaching them carelessly carries trendous risk.
In the case of Dragon King Magnawell, while he doesn’t present the sa kind of danger as giddo, eting him in person is still exceedingly difficult. His sheer size alone makes it impossible for him to visit the Human Realm outside of the Festival of Heroes. The only way to et him directly would be to travel to the southern mountain ranges of the Demon Realm, a region teeming with monsters and considered extrely dangerous even there.
Recently, however, Magnawell has acquired a special clone body that allows him to visit the Human Realm from ti to ti, so that situation may change in the future, but as things stand, he remains, along with the War King, one of the Six Kings most difficult for nobles to approach.
[……U- Umm, Nidzveld-sama, Eingana-sama…… may I ask a question? I- Is it truly alright for to accompany you…… to a place where the Six Kings themselves will be present?]
[Ahh, there’s no problem. In fact, even if you were to act separately now, you would soon end up eting them anyway.]
[giddo-sama is very fond of Miyama Kaito-san. Once they realize he is nearby, they’ll almost certainly shout his na at the top of their lungs while approaching……]
Hearing Eingana’s words, Cornelia froze in dread. The image flashed through her mind, War King giddo loudly calling out Kaito’s na while striding toward them in front of a crowd of onlookers. The attention that would draw would be imnse, and naturally, it would spill over to her as well…… Thinking about it, she began to feel that perhaps going to et him first would actually be safer.
And sadly, resolve…… that thing people call ntal preparation can sotis be nothing more than a fragile seawall for the heart.
Had Cornelia been unaware of what awaited her, had giddo and Magnawell appeared before her without warning, her ntal fortitude, far inferior to soone like Eris, might not have held. The shock alone could very well have caused her to faint on the spot.
But now, with prior knowledge of the eting ahead, she was at least ntally prepared. Her stomach felt as though it had been filled with lead, heavy and painful with anxiety, but she was unlikely to lose consciousness.
……Though, in a sense, perhaps it was unlucky that she learned of it beforehand, since even the option of fainting as a form of escape had been taken from her.
Serious-senpai : [Hah!? W- Wait a second! Isn’t the last chapter a serious scene!!!?]
? ? ? : [Eh? You just realized that now?] Fresh chapters posted on novel-fire.ɴet
Serious-senpai : [W- Well, I had kind of given up on the idea of any serious developnt happening while I was actually here…… I- I an, it always happens conveniently when I’m not around or when I don’t see it…… So I accidentally noticed it a bit late!?]
? ? ? : [……Well, on the bright side, this finally disproves the theory that Serious-senpai is the embodint of seriousness and therefore can’t appear when the main story gets serious. It also confirms that whether or not Serious-senpai shows up in the afterword has absolutely no effect on whether the story itself turns serious.]
