After buying so food, I walked around the festival with Alice while eating. I purchased small fish skewers, and they tasted like sweetfish with just the right amount of saltiness, making them very delicious. The downside is that they’re large enough that one skewer fills up quite a bit…… but well, Alice is eating them as if she’s gobbling yakitori from a bar……
[Co to think of it, Alice, there was soone around the Royal Capital’s entrance talking about so sa-day tickets, but what was that about?]
[Ahh, those were tickets to see the Sea Dragon Parade at noon. It’s a popular event and tickets are usually sold out long before the event starts, but if stuff happened like cancellations or such, sa-day tickets like those are sotis sold at the entrance on the day of the event.]
[Sea Dragon Parade?]
[If I were to explain it in a very simple way, I guess it’s like a mikoshi or a lion dance. A large dragon model is carried through the streets by a large number of people. The Hydra Kingdom historically originated from several nations that ca together to form a single country. On the day of Hydra Kingdom’s Founding Festival, there used to be a festival that originally extolled sea dragons, and due to this tradition, the Sea Dragon Parade beca a part of the Founding Festival.]

Co to think of it, I rember reading in a book that Hydra Kingdom was ford when several nations that had been badly affected by the invasion of the Demon Lord joined forces to create a coalition army.
After the Demon Lord was defeated by the First Hero, the damage they received was still quite significant, and continuing to exist as several small nations proved to be unsustainable, so after several discussions, they had decided that Laguna-san would beco their King, and the various nations unified to form one country, becoming Hydra Kingdom.
……Incidentally, Laguna-san was initially just on the throne because she was well known as a mber of the Hero Party, as due to the chaotic circumstances and the need for soone with influence and recognition, and the initial plan was that she would abdicate once the country was stabilized…… Laguna-san herself complained about this in frustration.
However, unfortunately for her, Laguna-san was just that excellent of a King, and with the support of the people, she continues to be the King to this day.
[This is also a story from the past, but near one of the coastal nations, there was this massive dragon that ruled the sea, and it was believed that if the dragon’s mood was disturbed, a storm would break out. So, they held festivals in honor of that dragon to pray for good fishing weather and to prevent accidents from happening at sea.]

[I do believe the basis of that story is most likely Eingana-san. In the past, there weren’t as many Teleportation Gates scattered around as there are now, but there were still thods to travel between Demon Realm and Human Realm. Also, this is extrely rare, but there are tis when, due to distortions in ti and space, Humans have wandered into the Demon Realm, or Demons have wandered into the Human Realm. At those tis, I…… or rather, the Phantasmal King camp was protecting and sending the target individuals back. Perhaps, during those tis, upon seeing Eingana-san, they thought that there was a Dragon God in the sea…… There’s no Dragon of her size in the Human Realm after all.]
[Ahh, I see, Eingana’s size certainly was quite impactful……]
She’s an enormous Sea Dragon, 1 km in length, so if she appears out of the sea, it would be quite the sight to behold. It wouldn’t be surprising if one were to think that a God exists in the sea if one sees a being such as her.
As I nodded in understanding, Alice spoke with a wry smile.
[That Sea Dragon has beco so famous here in Hydra Kingdom, yet the real Sea God…… God of Ocean isn’t so well-known. Well, she has always been soone who doesn’t stand out……]
[God of Ocean? Now that you ntioned it, I’ve t the God of Sky, Sky-san, and God of Earth, Gaia-san, but I haven’t t the God governing the seas.]
This is just my own impression, but I have this impression that the land, sea and sky were like a set of three, so now that she ntioned it, I couldn’t help wondering about it now.
No, well, putting aside Sky-san who was arranged to guide , I just happened to et Gaia-san back then, so it’s not really that strange that I haven’t t that God of Ocean but……
[Supre Gods have two High-ranking Gods as their close confidants, and the God of Life, Life-san’s close confidants were Sky-san and Gaia-san. On the other hand, God of Ocean…… Marine-san is the third in the order of Life-san’s direct subordinates…… She cos right after Sky-san and Gaia-san in the hierarchy, but because she’s not considered a direct confidant, along with the fact that she doesn’t have any particular distinctive traits, she doesn’t stand out much. Well, the person herself is a reliable and sensible fellow though.]
Listening to Alice’s story, Callia-san suddenly ca to mind. Well, Callia-san is World King’s Strongest Subordinate and a Super Maid, so she does have quite the distinctive traits…… but it seems that they share the common trait of not standing out much.
God of Ocean, Marine-san huh…… She sounds like an interesting person, so I’d like to get to know them soday.
