The blue fras disappeared. Adam took a step forward. Sothing had changed in him. He felt more self-assurance and stronger. The world sped past him with just one step.

The stores along the streetside appeared as a single, long, fuzzy block of color as he took another step. He was not rely moving. He was not even trying to move that fast.

He wanted to test his speed. He began jogging alongside the road. He saw a car drive by. He began to run a bit more quickly. Now he was running as fast as the car. It was simple. The driver gave him a look. His eyes were wide.

Adam was emotionless. No weariness. No stress. There was no burning in his lungs. He had no fatigue in his legs. He could run like this all day, he thought. He had not even exerted himself to the limit. He simply had a new baseline.

His calculations were altered by this. His Iron Skin ability and this new speed increased the likelihood of a face-to-face encounter. There, on that crowded street, he made his choice. He would return to the club. He would go up against them once more. He would put an end to JokerX.

Eric and Joseph would then be his next targets. He would not allow them to survive. His stomach ached from the betrayal. He had been sold out. They

He had died as a result of them. Blood was the only way to pay that debt. He would locate them and complete the task he began at the train station.

The scene changed.

JokerX sat on a soft velvet sofa inside the obscured club. He gazed at the ti on his phone. He lacked patience. He felt uneasy. He gazed up at the few remaining rcenaries. Their faces were a mix of greed and dread as they were huddled together in a small group.

"You all rember the agreent, correct?" JokerX growled low in his voice. "I will give you all a million dollars if you get rid of this kid."

The rcenaries shifted. They were seasoned n who had taken on nurous jobs as hired killers. This one, however, was unique. It was an odd one.

They had never seen a job where killing a single schoolboy required more than forty n. It was disturbing how much overkill there was.

It was not natural the way the boy had moved it or fought. It was frightful. A million dollars, however, was a strong incentive. It was sufficient to temporarily numb their fear.

JokerX looked back down at his phone. He had The Byrd app open. It was the information broker network that was the lifeblood of the underworld. He was looking at Adam’s profile his last known location. But the information had stopped updating. The last ping was at the railway station just before the first confrontation. After that silence.

He frowned. This was unusual. The Byrd was supposed to provide real-ti tracking on high-value targets. That was what he paid them for.

Don’t tell The Byrd has gotten this weak over the years he thought a flicker of annoyance rising within him. They can’t even provide real-ti information on my target anymore. Will I have to stop paying them?

The Byrd was not a free service. Bounty hunters and assassins all over the underworld paid a hefty subscription fee to access its network. In return The Byrd provided them with intel targets and location tracking. It was an essential tool for anyone in their line of work. For it to fail now at such a crucial mont was infuriating.

Right now the hottest na in the entire underworld was Adam. His na was on the lips of every bounty hunter from the low-level thugs to the high-tier assassins. A few days ago a bounty had suddenly appeared on his head. A staggering one hundred million dollars.

The amount was shocking. It was the kind of money that could make a man set for life. It was the kind of money that made people take incredible risks.

It was the topic of conversation. A high school student is the target of a $100 million bounty. It was a first. Such bounties were typically saved for high-profile cases.

Syndicate leaders and rebel governnt agents are opposed by political figures. Most bounty hunters stayed away from these targets. They were too ssy and dangerous. The reward was not worth the risk.

However, this was not like the others. The victim was just a kid. A typical boy attending a typical school. He was an easy mark on paper. The ideal target. Everyone was chasing him because of this.

Every avaricious rcenary and ravenous bounty hunter saw this as a fantastic opportunity. An almost sure-fire lottery ticket. Each of them desired a share of the $100 million pie.

Everyone aspired to be the one to profit. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into. They were unaware that they were not pursuing a sheep.

They were pursuing a wolf disguised as a sheep. With each failed attempt to kill him, the wolf grew stronger.

They all believe they are hunters, but this is not the case; nobody is aware that they will all be hunted down in the end. That’s these people’s fate.
