The protagonist of Mine, Jin Yeonseo, steps out into the world and sees many things.
The countless people ntioned by 'Adam Lowell', who took care of her at the lab.
Nature.
The city.
All these countless things.
Among them, Yeonseo learns about life with people, sothing she never learned in the lab, through her parents.
Yeonseo isn’t a psychopath or soone with emotional issues.
She’s just soone who has lived her life as a blank slate, so she is as pure as a child.
But, because of her purity, her actions can sotis beco more instinctual and even cruel.
“I don’t know what kind of life Yeonseo lived before.”
Yeonseo’s stepfather, Park Hunmin, said this as he patted her head.
He was speaking to the girl, who looked puzzled by the gesture.
“But, I know you’re very special.”
As they lived together, there were many opportunities to witness Yeonseo’s special traits.
She didn’t know what a crosswalk was and got hit by a car.
But when everyone rushed over in surprise, she stood up completely fine, and the sight stayed vivid in their minds.
Moreover, her strange physical abilities and extraordinary intellect were often puzzling.
Though strange, Park Hunmin didn’t pry into it.
“But, you don’t have to be special. Just live the way you want.”
He wished for her to live like an ordinary schoolgirl, attending school and living like any other girl her age.
“We will help you be that Yeonseo.”
With Park Hunmin’s calm words, Yeonseo—now renad Park Yeonseo—began her new life.
She attended school and, like any normal student, sighed over her studies. One day, while studying at the academy, she t a girl.
“Hello? I’m Shin Arin. I lived in Japan for a long ti, but now I’m here in Korea.”
Shin Arin.
A girl who used such a na.
She quickly beca friends with Yeonseo at the academy.
And then...
Recalling a series of events, Yeonseo looked at the man in front of her.
A man in a bike suit, wearing a helt, holding a three-section staff.
The fact that he was holding a three-section staff indicated that his intent was not to "kill" but to "subdue".
‘Though the three-section staff is a dangerous weapon.’
Even though it may look light, being hit with it could easily result in fractures.
But there is an image associated with weapons, and compared to sothing with a blade, it seems relatively safer.
‘Oliver.’
His height is similar to Arthur’s.
Well, he was a stunt double.
The best stuntman chosen by Arthur in Hollywood.
I had sensed it before, but his body balance was impressive.
Although we had practiced together before, the atmosphere felt oddly different this ti.
There was a blend of acting, too.
A stunt actor.
Or should I say, a stuntman-turned-actor.
The difference is subtle, but it feels strangely different.
In front of Oliver, Yeonseo made a gesture for the girl behind her, who had fallen on her butt, to step back.
“Arin, could you step back for a mont? This will be over soon.”
“What... What are you talking about? Let’s run away quickly!”
“Running away won’t solve anything.”
Yeonseo said, narrowing her eyes as she faced her opponent.
She tilted her head slightly.
The opponent seed strangely familiar.
“Have we t before?”
“….”
At Yeonseo’s words, the man didn’t respond.
He just slowly stepped forward with his left foot, ready to charge.
And then, with strength in his right leg, his right arm wielding the three-section staff whipped through the air.
Whoosh!!
The sound of the staff cutting through the air echoed.
Shin Arin and Narumi Sora, watching from behind, widened their eyes.
‘Fast!’
It was fast.
The trajectory and actions were the sa as the ones I had practiced with Arthur.
But the timing was slightly faster.
What Oliver held was a sponge prop for filming, so it didn’t matter if it hit.
But if he attacked without hesitation, his opponent would undoubtedly be caught off guard.
And if it was faster than during rehearsals...
Sora followed Oliver’s hand with her eyes, thinking about how she would avoid the attack if it were her.
Just as she thought about it, Yeonseo moved, one beat faster than the rehearsal.
Instead of dodging the staff, she charged forward, diving into the opponent's embrace.
She struck at his right wrist with her left hand and then aid a right fist at his face, but the man blocked it with his left hand and kicked at her with his left leg.
Yeonseo blocked the kick with her left arm, the sa arm she had used to deflect the staff, and took a few steps back.
“Who are you?”
She looked at the man, almost as if amused.
The entire exchange passed in an instant.
Even though it was a beat faster than in practice, there was no NG, and it was flawless.
Seeing this, Han Yegeon nearly let out a gasp of admiration.
As expected, the faster the action, the more impressive it looks.
Even the most mundane moves beco impressive when done with fast hand movents.
Since Han Yegeon, who planned this scene, was amazed, it was no surprise that the staff mbers were equally impressed.
‘Did that just happen in a flash?’
‘Did he really swing it like that?’
‘Even though it was rehearsed, to do it all at once like that...’
Yeonseo had already shown her exceptional physical abilities, but action acting was sothing entirely different.
Back during Hyper Action Star, her actions had been raw, almost unrefined.
There was so concern about whether she would be able to keep up with the choreography.
But, it seed those worries were unfounded.
The two of them were standing face to face, without missing a beat.
The acting is not over yet.
"I don’t think you’re an ordinary person."
The opponent, brushing off both hands, walked in a clockwise direction around himself, watching Yeonseo’s every move.
"I think you know a lot about ."
Yeonseo’s mouth smiled, but her eyes did not.
Her anger seed to spread like red paint.
Her slowly reddening eyes reflected her emotions.
It seed there were many questions she wanted to ask.
Yeonseo didn’t speak the lines aloud, but it was clear she had no intention of letting the opponent leave unhard.
Soon, Yeonseo’s upper body slowly leaned forward.
The mont her left foot bore her weight, her right foot slamd the ground.
Unlike the trained soldier-like stance of her opponent, Yeonseo moved like a beast.
It was rough, but fast.
If you blinked, she would have already closed the distance and be right in front of him.
The staff watched in awe, their eyes wide.
‘Fast!’
This, too, was faster than when she trained with Arthur.
It was almost as if she expected the opponent to react this quickly.
Yeonseo extended her right hand, not forming a fist but opening her palm.
It wasn’t to strike, but to grab.
Her opponent, remaining calm, stepped back, swinging the three-section staff left and right to strike.
The impact broke Yeonseo’s wrist.
‘This much can regenerate in an instant.’
Yeonseo’s regeneration ability was remarkable.
And her physical strength far surpassed that of a normal human.
Had the three-section staff been wielded by an ordinary person, her arm wouldn’t have broken.
That ant her opponent was also a superhuman.
A physical enhancent-type superhuman.
Yeonseo’s eyes widened as a faint smile tugged at her lips.
Her red eyes burning,
Even with her arm broken, Yeonseo’s balance remained forward.
Her legs propelled her forward, charging straight at him.
Like a cannonball.
She collided with his torso, sending him into the air and tumbling backward.
Then, almost imdiately, he sprang up, using his body to cushion the shock before he hit the ground.
It was a basic stuntman skill, but it looked as if he was trying to avoid Yeonseo’s attack.
“How fast can you move?”
However, even after standing up, the opponent was already in front of her.
He swung the three-section staff to strike at her hand that was reaching for the back of his neck.
“I’ve got you.”
With a smirk, Yeonseo’s left hand caught the staff.
But that, too, was a trap.
When she pressed the button on the staff, blue electricity surged, electrocuting Yeonseo’s body.
Despite her regeneration powers, she was still human.
If she was electrocuted, she wouldn’t be able to move properly.
"!!"
The mont the electricity hit her, Yeonseo jolted and swung her left arm forcefully to throw the three-section staff.
And in that instant, the opponent’s knee ca up to strike her chin.
Yeonseo blocked it by inserting her right arm between them.
Just as his knee hit the ground, she used her right palm to swat his extended right fist away.
Then, both of their hands collided twice in midair, and the distance between them widened.
The opponent’s upper body spun violently, and his right leg whipped out like a windmill.
It was the type of spinning kick often seen in taekwondo.
The high kick from the opponent swung toward Yeonseo’s temple, but she caught his ankle just before it made contact.
“That was a mistake.”
Holding onto his ankle, Yeonseo tossed him into the air and slamd him to the ground.
Boom!!
The padded floor shook violently.
The staff gasped, their shock audible.
Yeonseo’s hand, still holding his ankle, moved again.
As the opponent’s right hand was about to reach her waist, she moved swiftly to prevent it.
"Cut, cut!! That’s enough!"
Han Yegeon shouted urgently and ran toward them.
“What?”
Oh, did the scene end here?
Yeonseo briefly reflected, but she was sure they were supposed to slam him into the ground a couple more tis.
“Normally, you can’t do that.”
“......”
At Han Yegeon’s serious words, Yeonseo found herself at a loss for words.
Well, that’s true—normally, people couldn’t do that.
“The plan was to use wires or CGI here, but I didn’t think you’d actually lift him and throw him like that.”
“Oh, really? I got so imrsed in the acting for a mont.”
At Yeonseo’s words, the staff seed a bit flustered.
So, this kind of superhuman strength can co from imrsing in the acting, huh?
Actors are amazing, sothing like that crossed their minds.
“Well, the scene was good. The action was faster than expected, so it turned out much more spectacular.”
Although they were a little surprised when Yeonseo suddenly grabbed Oliver’s ankle and swung him, the scene itself was incredibly clean.
The sequence of actions was large and fast, almost as if it was designed with the cara in mind, which made it visually enjoyable.
‘This is even more amazing.’
Han Yegeon nodded, his face showing a hint of nervousness as he looked at Yeonseo.
While Oliver was a well-known stuntman in Hollywood, Han Yegeon hadn’t expected Yeonseo to perform so cleanly.
Honestly, during Hyper Action Star, her acting, though still good, had been pretty rough.
They didn’t even have proper ti to rehearse, so she wasn’t able to get the choreography right back then.
But now, she was incredibly polished.
It almost felt unfair to compare her to the Yeonseo from back then.
‘Which makes even more worried.’
Han Yegeon glanced at Sora, who had witnessed the entire action sequence.
In Arthur’s case, Oliver could double for him, but Narumi Sora had to do all her action scenes herself.
After all, there was no female stunt actress who could do what Narumi Sora could.
“Are you okay?”
While Han Yegeon was lost in thought, Yeonseo approached Oliver, who was still lying on the mat.
She was a little worried since he hadn’t gotten up yet.
‘I got too imrsed.’
It seed that, due to the nature of her role, she had gotten too into character in that mont.
She hadn’t intended to do thod acting, but naturally, she had beco absorbed in it.
Besides, this was the first ti Yeonseo had acted while utilizing her physical abilities.
“...Haha, I’m fine.”
“Huh?”
“Ah, did I ntion that I don’t speak English? Arthur?”
“Ah, yeah. He says he’s fine.”
“That’s good. I must have put a little too much force into it without realizing.”
Yeonseo lowered her head awkwardly, and Arthur pondered for a mont, unsure of how to respond.
Was this sothing a female actor would say?
It sounded more like sothing a male actor would say.
“I’m fine. He’s a tough guy.”
“Thank goodness. Honestly, I was surprised. I didn’t expect it to be that intense.”
Yeonseo glanced at Oliver with a look of excitent.
The action just now had honestly been fun.
‘I want to do it again.’
It was the sa feeling she’d briefly had when working with Narumi Sora.
Though Narumi Sora, in comparison to Oliver, was lacking.
Oliver truly knew what real action acting was all about.
What had impressed her the most was his response when she charged at him.
It was in the script, but it had been exaggerated by Yeonseo’s actions. Still, Oliver had clearly reacted appropriately.
“I’m looking forward to the next performance.”
Rarely, Yeonseo said that and quickly walked away, disappearing toward Narumi Sora.
She was eager to ask her how she thought the acting had gone.
As Yeonseo’s figure disappeared, Oliver slowly took off his bike helt.
“Arthur.”
“Yeah?”
“I thought I was hit by a car.”
“……”
“Haha, no need to look at like that. Still, it was fun.”
Oliver was sincere.
It was the first ti he had felt such a thrill since skydiving.
“By the way, if you ever want to compete with Yeonseo in an action scene, I can switch places with you.”
“I’ll pass. I want to have a long career as an actor.”
“Ha, I see. Oh, my body’s sore all over, but I’m glad I managed my strength. Honestly, I was worried.”
“Managing strength? What do you an?”
Arthur, answering him, rembered Yeonseo’s mont when she had just grabbed Oliver by the ankle and thrown him.
He had definitely managed her strength during the fight.
‘Now I get why I said she seed like a warrior taking on a monster.’
Arthur nodded at Oliver.
And then…
‘Did I choose the wrong profession?’
Arthur couldn’t help but seriously ponder that thought.
