"Really?"
Durrell Landon looked down at her quietly, neither saying he believed nor disbelieved, just calmly said:
"You should rest well first. I’ll have the housekeeper send over so food that’s good for healing wounds shortly."
Joseph Grant told him that she only drank a few drinks at the banquet and didn’t eat anything before running out. After all this chaos, she must be hungry by now.
After speaking, Durrell Landon told Quiana Sutton to rest peacefully, and quietly retreated from the sickroom.
Quiana Sutton stared blankly at Durrell Landon’s departing figure. In this world, probably only Durrell Landon cares about her in such subtle ways.
Aaron stood outside the sickroom, respectfully handing the docunts to Durrell Landon. He had already thoroughly investigated those people’s information.
Durrell Landon casually glanced at the docunts and unexpectedly saw a na.
With a furious face, he went to Oliver Gale’s office, didn’t knock, directly pushed open the door, and with a voice of unprecedented severity said, "Oliver, what’s going on? What did you do with her behind my back?"
Oliver Gale was about to take a sip of water when he saw Durrell Landon barging in angrily. He was slightly startled, and the hot tea almost burned his hands, looking at Durrell Landon with confusion: "Durrell, what’s happened, why are you so angry?"
Durrell Landon threw the docunts onto Oliver Gale’s desk, barely suppressing his overwhelming anger: "See for yourself."
Oliver Gale suspiciously picked up the stack; the more he read, the more he felt this was ssed up. He never imagined that the main source of trouble this ti would be due to his montary boredom.
He hurriedly stood up to explain, his voice filled with imasurable anxiety: "Durrell, hear out, I truly didn’t realize Quiana’s injury was caused by them."
Durrell Landon’s iron-gray face showed no signs of relaxation due to Oliver Gale’s explanation, instead growing increasingly somber.
Finally, Oliver Gale wisely shut up, knowing that any explanation would be like adding fuel to the fire.
After a mont of silence, he spoke: "Durrell, how do you plan to deal with them?"
Durrell Landon’s brows and eyes glead with a fierce murderous air, coldly replied: "Make them disappear from Capital City."
Oliver Gale was very concerned: "That will probably take quite a lot of effort."
These individuals are mostly involved in criminal activities. If things get blown up, whether Durrell could continue standing in Capital City is one thing, even preserving his life would be uncertain.
"Durrell, do you want to reconsider?"
Durrell Landon shot a look over, and Oliver Gale imdiately shut up. He knew that no matter what he said from now on, Durrell Landon would not change his mind.

Two days later.
During these two days, Quiana Sutton has been healing at Riventon Hospital, while Isabelle Sorville and Grace Sutton have visited multiple tis.
Initially, Grace Sutton was incredibly anxious. After confirming she was alright, she even joked that fortunately, the injury wasn’t to her face; if it were, her acting career would be over.
Isabelle Sorville, on the other hand, always brought plenty to say but stopped short each visit, leaving Quiana Sutton feeling sowhat helpless, "If you have questions, just ask them."
Her index finger incessantly stirred, hesitated for a long ti, and eventually shook her head: "No, I don’t have any questions. Thank you so much for this ti; if it wasn’t for Cece saving , I truly wouldn’t know how to escape this predicant."
Quiana Sutton shot her a deep glance: "As long as you don’t bla , it’s clear I implicated you this ti."
Isabelle Sorville quickly shook her head: "No... No matter what, I ought to thank you sincerely."
...
So as not to disturb Quiana Sutton’s rest, Isabelle Sorville didn’t stay long and saw Durrell Landon again in the corridor as she left.
Although she had many questions, she was clear-heartedly aware that if Cece didn’t want to talk, no amount of pressure would make her.
Besides, she firmly believed Cece had her reasons for remaining silent.
Just a bit of a pity...
There’s a high chance her brother and Cece will have no more opportunities.
Durrell Landon entered the sickroom, holding Quiana Sutton in his arms, his face showed a hint of annoyance.
Quiana Sutton nestled in his embrace, looked at him in puzzlent: "What’s wrong?"
Durrell Landon sowhat sulkily: "Isabelle Sorville ca again?"
Quiana Sutton chuckled helplessly: "Joy is worried about my wound too."
She’s quite sensitive to slls, and being so close now, she slled a faint scent of blood on Durrell Landon.
She moved in closer, instinctively sniffing again and again.
Durrell Landon burst into amused laughter: "What are you slling? Suspecting another woman’s scent?"
Quiana Sutton was trapped in his arms, looking up only to see his chiseled chin: "There’s a bloody sll on you? Are you hurt?"
Durrell Landon hesitated slightly, subconsciously lowered his head to sniff his own scent, having bathed multiple tis before coming, yet she still caught scent?
Lowering his gaze to her, his warm breath spilled on her face: "I’m not hurt, if you don’t believe, I can prove it."
Quiana Sutton: "..."
Not hurt ans not hurt, why switch topics suddenly.
Just as she was internally grumbling, she felt a patch of warmth and softness touch her wrist, traversing the edge of her wound gently.
The action was so tender and protective, cautiously, afraid of hurting her even slightly.
"Durrell Landon, what are you doing?" Startled, she tried to pull her hand back but Durrell Landon’s grip was tight. Not just now, but usually she wouldn’t be able to break free, only watching him shyly as he gently kissed the edge of her wound with his hot lips.
Durrell Landon rarely saw her show such an expression, a slight thrill built within him.
"You... Are embarrassed..."
Quiana Sutton: "..."
"Shut up!"
But at this mont, the reprimanding tone was evidently lacking lethality, softer like a coy protest.
It’s uncommon, Durrell Landon didn’t continue teasing either; provoking her anger would an being kicked out of the sickroom.
He focused on her wrist wound, clearly abraded by ropes, just killing those people seed too lenient.
Quiana Sutton sensed the flash of murderous intent in Durrell Landon’s eyes, slightly dazed.
Durrell Landon took the wound dicine and slowly applied it then wrapped it with gauze, after completing everything, imprinted a kiss on the gauze:
"In the future... Don’t act so recklessly..."
He couldn’t conceive what he might do if she truly perished in that abandoned house.
Quiana Sutton tightly clutched his collar, her eyes eting his candidly, so purely, instead carrying a subtle allure.
"I promise, next ti I won’t let myself descend into danger again."
Durrell Landon chuckled ambiguously: "Originally I had no such intention at all, but if you keep looking at like that, then we’ll see..."
Quiana Sutton: "..."
Swiftly redirected her gaze, muttering quietly: "Pervert."
No sooner said, Durrell Landon swiftly wrapped his arm around the girl tightly, as if wanting to blend her into his soul.
In this world, he could lose anything, but she is absolutely irreplaceable.
