After Han Jingnian put down his pen, seeing that he had no intention of continuing the discussion on the story behind Yakult, his assistant Zhang Te prudently steered the conversation back to work: "President Han, for the ten o’clock eting with President Zhang, who are you planning to take along for note-taking?"

Having said that, a lightbulb mont occurred to Zhang Te, so he abruptly changed the subject, seemingly unintentionally: "By the way, President Han, I’m not sure if you are aware of this, but our recent recruit in the general manager’s office, Secretary Ai, reportedly knows Young Master Zhijin quite well. According to our human resources departnt, they have a strong relationship. I have also confird this with Young Master Zhijin who told that Secretary Ai and your wife are very, very good friends."

Throughout Zhang Te’s preceding words, Han Jingnian’s expression remained unchanged. He stared gravely at the computer screen, barely heeding Zhang Te at all. But when Zhang Te ntioned the word "wife", Han Jingnian abruptly looked up at Zhang Te, uttering, "Who?"

Zhang Te knew Han Jingnian was asking who was very good friends with his wife, so he answered honestly, "Secretary Ai."

Han Jingnian looked utterly bewildered, apparently unaware of such a person in the general manager’s office.

"Secretary Ai just joined us not long ago, her na is Ai Jiang."

Han Jingnian didn’t respond, but he recalled that day when he narrowly escaped death, and the day after, when she hid in the closet and unnervingly told him, "More importantly, my friend doesn’t know about us...."

Zhang Te repeated his original question to Han Jingnian, not getting any response, so he called out to him again, "President Han?"

Han Jingnian snapped back to reality, glanced at Zhang Te, then his thoughts drifted away again.

When had it started? He rembered her comnts with incredibly accuracy, every single word. He even rembers her expression and tone at that mont.

Zhang Te, after catching Han Jingnian’s gaze, thought he was going to answer him, but was left hanging after a quick, dismissive glance. Therefore he once again called out, "President Han?"

"Hmm?" Han Jingnian answered, seeing Zhang Te looking at him but remaining silent, he asked again, "What is it?"

Damn, did he not hear a single word he just said?

With tears streaming down the face of his heart, Zhang Te repeated his words respectfully: "President Han, for the ten o’clock eting, who should go and record it?"

"Oh, the one you ntioned just now..." Han Jingnian forgot about the secretary’s na that Zhang Te ntioned again, paused for a while, and simply said, "her friend."

President Han actually chose Secretary Ai, it seems he’s determined to change his image in his wife’s eyes!

Zhang Te nodded and said "alright", and asked again, "What about the lunch eting and the dinner eting? Will Secretary Ai still be attending?"

Han Jingnian pondered for a while, nodded his head, and agreed.

...

At night, the dinner eting did not end until eight o’clock.

As they were leaving the Grand Beijing Hotel in the elevator, Ai Jiang heard Han Jingnian tell Zhang Te that he needed to go back to the office. Therefore, when Zhang Te asked her where she planned to go next, she softly replied, "The office."
