...

After leaving the old house, it wasn’t long before Han Jingnian received a phone call.

Xia Wan’an did not know who the call was from, but from Han Jingnian’s tone, she realized there had been so urgent issue between his company and a client, and they were asking if he could co and deal with it.

The matter seed quite thorny. Han Jingnian replied, "Got it," then put down his phone and looked at Xia Wan’an, "I’ll drop you off at ho first. I’ve got sothing else to take care of and need to head over there."

Xia Wan’an knew it was work-related, so she did not ask further but simply nodded her head a few tis in understanding.

The old house was not far from Han Jingnian’s apartnt. In no ti at all, they arrived at the underground parking garage.

Han Jingnian did not go upstairs. Once Xia Wan’an got out of the car, he pressed the gas pedal and left.

When she got ho, she heard a "ow" and the plump little Mirror charged into her arms.

Xia Wan’an joyfully caressed little Mirror, playing with him in the living room for a while before she stood up to take a shower.

However, before she reached the bedroom door, the doorbell suddenly rang. She had no idea who was at the door but they didn’t just ring the bell—they also banged on the door fiercely.

"I’m coming," Xia Wan’an replied as she walked toward the entrance, but in those brief seconds, the visitor seed to have stood under the scorching sun for hours during the peak of sumr and began frantically pounding on the door again.

"Don’t knock..." Xia Wan’an, who quickly reached the door, said as she pulled it open.

"Where’s my uncle?" Xia Wan’an hadn’t even clearly seen who was standing outside before the person eagerly spoke up.

Xia Wan’an swallowed the words she hadn’t finished, "Your uncle had sothing to attend to; he’s not at ho."

"When did he leave?"

"He didn’t co ho. He just dropped off downstairs and then drove away..." As Xia Wan’an said this, she noticed Han Zhijin’s unease and furrowed her brows slightly, "What’s wrong? Did sothing happen?"

Han Zhijin nodded without giving specifics and instead asked, "Do you know where my uncle went?"

Xia Wan’an shook her head, "I didn’t ask him..."

Hearing this answer, Han Zhijin ignored Xia Wan’an, pulled out his cell phone, and made a call to Han Jingnian. The call went through, but nobody answered.

Han Zhijin tried again, and seeing the sa scenario, panic was clearly etched in his eyes.

Anxious to find Han Jingnian, he didn’t even leave a goodbye for Xia Wan’an and dashed toward the elevator.

Xia Wan’an, sensing the gravity of the situation, hurriedly followed, "What exactly happened?"

Afraid that Han Zhijin wouldn’t tell her, she quickly added, "You’re going to look for your uncle, right? It definitely won’t be faster for you to search for him alone compared to with , right? So please tell , what exactly happened to your uncle?"

Han Zhijin pressed his lips together twice, and after contemplating the words of this woman nad Xia Wanwan, concluded that she made so sense, and moved his lips, "My uncle’s gotten into so very troubleso trouble. We must find him as soon as possible!"

"Very troubleso trouble?" Xia Wan’an asked perplexedly, "Dropping five vague words like that, where do we even start searching? Can’t you be more specific?"

"You!" Han Zhijin was left speechless for two seconds by Xia Wan’an’s rebuttal before he blurted out, "Very troubleso trouble ans that there’s another woman plotting against my uncle, trying to shalessly ss up my uncle’s bed, just like you!"
