"No need, it’s not that serious."
As Lu Yangui’s voice settled, Han Zhijin pretended to accidentally clip off a small piece of flesh with the nail clippers.
He acted as if the pain was intense, "hiss"ing out loud.
Just as he had anticipated, Lu Yangui sprang to her feet. "How can you still be so careless when you’re already this old? Hold the wound for a mont, I’ll go downstairs to get the first aid kit for you..."
Once Lu Yangui’s figure disappeared at the doorway, Han Zhijin imdiately got up and went to the bedside to retrieve Lu Yangui’s phone, which she had neglected in her flurry of concern.
He knew his mother’s phone password and easily unlocked the screen, entering the hopage of Lu Yangui’s mobile phone.
Thinking about how his mother had been absentminded every ti the text ssage tone rang out these last two days, he quickly clicked into the ssages.
The first ssage was from an "unknown" sender. Since his mother could return at any mont, he straightforwardly clicked into it and started to scroll up through the ssages in reverse order at high speed.
By the ti he reached the top of the video ssage page and saw the two videos, his hands were shaking uncontrollably with the phone.
After he had watched all the videos, he pressed his lips tight, lifted his head, and then he saw Lu Yangui, standing at the doorway with a pale face, holding the dical kit.
Neither of them spoke, silently staring at each other for a long while, and then Han Zhijin took steps forward, pulling her into the bedroom and locking the door behind them.
He dragged his mother a distance into the bedroom before tremblingly lifting Lu Yangui’s phone. Fearing soone outside might pass by and overhear, he deliberately lowered his volu, "I want to know, is everything I saw real?"
Lu Yangui didn’t speak.
Unable to restrain himself, Han Zhijin spoke again, "Tell , did you really seek out my aunt, and did you really say those things to her?"
"Why would you do that? You know my aunt can’t have children, why would you tell her those things? Do you have any idea how much pain you’ve caused her?!"
Lu Yangui never expected that Han Zhijin would be the first to discover everything she had done. She looked at her son’s collapsing face, feeling slightly panicked at the bottom of her heart, "Zhijin, listen to mom, I had no choice, I just wanted to protect you, I really couldn’t care about everyone else..."
"You can protect , but you can’t step on soone else’s pain to do so!" Han Zhijin didn’t wait for Lu Yangui to finish speaking before he passionately interrupted her.
He realized his voice was too loud and hurriedly lowered it, but his tone remained exceptionally firm, "Think about how my aunt was when she was around, how she treated , how she treated you. How could you do this to her? If my so-called safety is at the cost of soone else’s happiness, I’d rather not have that safety!"
"I don’t know much about the Han Family affairs, and I know you’ve been keeping things from , but I am still a mber of the Han Family. My uncle might be more capable than I am, but even if I am powerless, when mbers of the Han Family need my protection, I will do everything in my power to stand up for everyone!"
"You are really too muddled; how could you forget one thing—that we are a family!"
