The next morning, when Xia Wan’an woke up, she had assud that the drunken Han Jingnian would sleep in a bit more. Yet, when she opened her eyes, she found him absent from their bed. After washing up a little, she headed to the dining room for breakfast. To her surprise, as she approached the dining room, she saw Han Jingnian, dressed in casual attire, in front of the table, arranging breakfast.

Xia Wan’an, not expecting Han Jingnian to be at ho, was taken aback. She then noticed he was wearing the Hello Kitty kitchen apron that she typically wore when cooking.

Xia Wan’an tried not to laugh, then found herself staring at Han Jingnian. She had to admit, despite the apron’s girly Hello Kitty design, it didn’t look out of place on Han Jingnian. In fact, it even added a touch of holiness, making him look much more approachable.

Han Jingnian, who had just finished setting up the table, caught sight of Xia Wan’an standing at the entrance from his peripheral vision. He turned his head and asked, "Awake already?"

Coming to her senses, Xia Wan’an nodded and murmured an affirmative, then as she walked towards the dining room, asked, "Why... haven’t you left for work yet?"

"There’s not much to do this morning, I’ll go after breakfast..." Han Jingnian replied, untying his apron. He casually draped it over a nearby chair, walked around to the other side of the table, pulled out a chair, and gestured for Xia Wan’an to sit. "Have breakfast, it’s just been prepared."

As Xia Wan’an settled into her seat, she looked at the array of breakfast dishes and small plates on the table in front of her, slightly surprised. "Did you make all of this?"

Han Jingnian rely grunted in affirmation, serving Xia Wan’an a bowl of porridge and placing it in front of her.

"Thank you," Xia Wan’an thanked him and began stirring her porridge to cool it down. Glancing up at Han Jingnian, who had just served her porridge, she asked, "When did you learn to make breakfast?"

Han Jingnian sat down across from her with his own bowl of porridge. "Two hours ago," he replied.

Xia Wan’an, who had just taken a mouthful of porridge, almost choked at his answer.

Two hours ago... Did that an Han Jingnian had learned to cook on-the-spot?

She knew that Han Jingnian was capable of making porridge, having tasted it nurous tis before, and can vouch for its excellence. However, she was unsure about the other dishes on the table...

The chunks of tofu in the Stir-fried Vegetable with Tofu were all identical in size, the Xiao Long Bao dumplings looked like they had been cast from the sa mold, and all the fried dough sticks were uniformly sized. Even the vinegar dips for the dumplings were asured exactly the sa...

Even though Xia Wan’an was accustod to having her diced at and vegetables cut to the sa size whenever she had porridge made by Han Jingnian, she couldn’t help but be amazed at the ticulous breakfast spread before her. She then picked a Xiao Long Bao with her chopsticks and popped it into her mouth.

The taste was surprisingly delicious...

Unable to resist, Xia Wan’an picked up another Xiao Long Bao and comnted, "This Xiao Long Bao tastes even better than the ones I usually buy outside. Did you perfect the at filling on your first attempt?"

Han Jingnian who was just sipping his porridge, paused for a mont, then casually disregarded the half-trashcan of at filling leftovers and nodded lightly.

"Incredible!" Unable to hold back her admiration, Xia Wan’an praised Han Jingnian, and proceeded to taste the other dishes. Finding nothing to fault in any of them, she couldn’t help but praise him again. "Han Jingnian, who would’ve thought that you’re actually an undercover culinary master!"
