On Wednesday, at three o’clock in the afternoon, the press conference announcing the Chief Designer of Han Family Enterprises officially began on the second floor of Beijing Grand Hotel.
Before half past two, the conference room was already full of dia personnel and reporters, with finance channel staff setting up the live broadcast equipnt on site.
At five minutes to three, Xia Wan’an, accompanied by Han Zhijin’s mother, Lu Yangui - who was also Han Jingnian’s sister-in-law - appeared at the conference.
Upon the arrival of Xia Wan’an and Lu Yangui, the originally noisy venue slowly quieted down.
Once Xia Wan’an and Lu Yangui were seated, a flurry of flash photography ensued from the audience.
Closer to three, a young lady from Han Family Enterprises’ Business Departnt, acting as the host, started: "Hello everyone. We’re glad to have you at the Chief Designer press conference of Han Family Enterprises..."
Following the grandiose opening remarks, the host moved to the main point: "Next, let’s have Mrs. Lu from our Han Family Enterprises introduce our Chief Designer."
After the host finished speaking, Lu Yangui smiled at the dia, remained silent for a few seconds, then began to speak slowly into the microphone before her: "Good afternoon, respected mbers of the dia, reporters. I am Lu Yangui. Lu Yangui probably spoke for less than ten minutes before the host indicated that it was Xia Wan’an’s turn to speak.
Xia Wan’an had prepared her speech in advance, even sacrificing ten minutes of her morning sleep to morize it.
Facing so many mbers of the dia and reporters now, the seldom-publicly-seen Xia Wan’an couldn’t say she wasn’t nervous, but she managed to recite her speech perfectly in the most casual tone.
Afterwards, it was ti for the reporters and dia outlets to ask questions.
So reporters and dia had coordinated in advance; hence Xia Wan’an knew the questions they asked and answered them seamlessly. However, the majority of the reporters and dia hadn’t communicated in advance. Among the many people present, so were bound to ask tricky questions. Luckily, Lu Yangui, who was seasoned in this aspect, was able to deftly resolve every issue with a calm deanor.
The press conference had ti constraints and was quickly approaching its end. In the final couple of minutes, the host, seeing that everything was going as planned, raised her microphone and asked, "We have less than five minutes before the end of our press conference. Does any mber of the press have any further questions?"
The host waited for a bit. Seeing that none of the reporters or mbers of the dia had anything to say, she prepared to give her closing remarks.
However, just as the host was about to speak, a person from the last row suddenly stood up: "I have a question for Miss Xia Wan’an. Was your acquisition of the Chief Designer’s position at Han Family Enterprises due to rit or due to so underhanded rule?"
